I enjoy any revival of useful tool, the car- vehicle. I enjoy learning your methods of assessment and such, and my hands not getting cut, greasy and/or dirty.
in 96 they started putting gm based throttle body fuel injection on them...also electronic ignition, my 96 had it, it was wonderful till i fried the computer and had to convert it back to carb and distributor.
Yes, mine has the GM injection, it's a '97. I'm glad it has it, I hope it works because it will make cold starts better. Hopefully I don't have to revert to a carb. How did you fry the computer?
@ welding underneath, rod hit the exhaust…. Had the battery disconnected but went to start it and the injector in the throttle body just dumped fuel constantly… I think it shorted the trigger wire somewhere or in the computer. At the time only place I could find a new computer was in p.e.i and they wanted 900 bucks for one so back to carb and manual choke I went. The efi was great… much better drivability.
That camera thing looks so helpful!

Lada engines always run according to garage 54
Fingers crossed LOL - I'm pretty confident it will run with fresh fuel.
