I seen a Systema Fighter beat a guy who had belts in Krav maga, I think Systema teaches Better Stand up & Grappling. I took Systema & Sambo & a bit of BJJ I definitely love the Systema Wrestling style. Go Check out UFC Oleg Takagrov he used Sambo & a bit of Systema. Krav maga & Systema are both good though. If you live in the Phillipine or Vietnam, most knife atk are hidden. That's the whole purpose of a knife, they are small and easy to conceal. People don't just pull out a knife and run miles away toward you. Most the time, they try to sneak up when you at a bar, in the restroom, on a phone...etc. when you already preoccupied, they walk by stab you then run away, if they see you notice them, they act like they just normal civillian and turn around wait for another day. It is almost impossible to defend again an assassin who actually intend to kill you.

I know that in real krav maga (not the fake kind Israeli non-coms sell to gullible Americans) any other practical combat systems can be incorporated into it. 1% of krav maga is an explanation on how and where to hit your opponent most effectively. The other 99% is preparing you for the fact that you will get hurt in most fights and preparing you to be as aggressive as possible and fight through it.
Systema and krav have alot of similarities. They are both combative systems built for martial applications. Systema is better than krav bevause of its fluidity, looseness, and direct action. The way I can best explain it is Krav has set moves for everything where as systema has 5 more moves for the same thing. Systema also takes alot less effort to do while being in my experience around 2x more effective on average. Breathing and relaxation have alot to do with the movements. Where as Krav is explosive and fast systema is more relaxed and hidden in mystery. Most the time you have no idea what someone doing systema is about to do, where as krav maga telegraphs the vast majority of their moves.
They can be combined for sure. Almost any technique is compatible with systema's 4 basic principles: Upright posture, constant fluid movement, selective dynamic muscle relaxation and tactical/burst breathing. Any Kravmaga technique when performed with utmost efficiency is done in this way.
I have no idea which is better, Im martial arts ignorant,....but I watch a lot,..and damn,..Systema looks way cooler,...but that could be deceptive,..I know,..any thought out there?

Come on, 'real' knives attacks are much more fasters and are repeated... why don't they do simulated real attacks ? Here the attackers is so slow and stab only one time with no agressvity.

Also its to protect the “attackers” so they dont accidentally actually get beat up and injured due to momentum and instinct of the trained attackees.
