It always bugged me that they would believe a name partner at a major law firm in Manhatten couldn't come up with half a million dollars for chemo treatment for his dying wife without having to steal from his clients. I'm not buying it.
Harvey stuttered when they jokingly said he needed the half million that day to become junior partner...most likely because he didn't actually have the half million either.

Jessica should have turned Daniel in, rather than letting him go easy. The amount of times that Hardman came back to haunt Harvey and the others was frustrating to see. Hardman is like a snake, by keeping it alive you give it chances to bite back when you least expect it.
Remember, snakes are notorious for being hard to deal with. Even if you cut off its head, you have to bury it so deep that its fangs can never reach anyone again, because a snake's venom last longer than its own life.
Considering these lawyers easily pull in a few mil a year I'm sure Daniel could have easily paid back $500k...its not like he stole 10's of millions...

She was sick, but he was actually funding a high cost affair for a year. b) he didn't want his own personal finances tied to his affair because then they could be traced. Credit card statements, bank transfers... even moving his money off shore would raise an eyebrow with his accountant who might report it to his wife. This way, his finances aren't suspicious on paper and his plan was for Louis to take the blame, but Harvey figured it out. Yes, Hardman is THAT bad.

Hardman was likely taking from retainer money that doesn't even cover into everyone's wages yet. Senior partner buy-in is half a million at Pearson / Hardman at the time.
