Jerry, i really appreciate your video, it is great that someone professional like you, shares there knowledge with new players like me. Very helpful and greatly appreciated !!! 👏
I'm very grateful to you for all these videos you've done to help other users , the manual can be a little confusing , just to say thanks so much , my set up is starting to come together nicely ❤
I appreciate it 😊 Thank you for dropping by - I'm glad to have been of some help - and congratulations on your new setup and adventures in Hauptwerk land!
Your enthusiasm is infectious, Jerry. I just need to learn the language you are talking in (I know, my fault!) so that I can experiment with as much confidence as you do. Of course, what I really want is just one button (I think I'd call it the 'Mary Poppins Bus') which, when activated, makes whatever organ I am playing and listening to perfect in every detail! And that'll be the future 'Hauptwerk RIP' upgrade - the one when I'm dead!
Thank you so much Graham - and YES - we need the Mary Poppins Bus - wouldn't that be something (after all - when I take a picture with my iphone, and I'm looking at it in the camera roll - there's a little "magic wand"that fixes exposure etc - that's what we need!!)
I am still very, very new to Hauptwerk and greedily look forward to your latest instructional video (I think Milan should hire you as their tech demo consultant). I have already added this one to my "JerryMartin" saved playlist :) I wish I could sit down with you for an hour and have you walk through my setup. Please keep up the great work.
Thank you! I'm glad you find this useful - it definitely takes time to get used to it, but do play around (and remember you can use one of the "alternative configuration" ways to launch hauptwerk, that way you can play around and not mess up your own settings, and then "factory reset" that alternative one :) )
@@jerrymartin79using alternative configuration is a good tip for experimenting. I’ve been reluctant to push buttons on my HW for fear of messing up the system that works pretty well for me.
Thanks, Jerry. An excellent sequel for the first Mixer-Video. I’ve played around more and more after your first video and have upgraded to HW7, too and it’s wonderful to finally get better and real great output…
An excellent instructional walkthrough, Jerry. Thanks for making this effort again! I see HW 7 has become more user friendly, that's a good development. I say 'more', because I'm convinced it can be made far more user friendly. But the big buttons and quick changing of settings really help.
Nice Jerry! I saved it. In the future I want to buy 4 studio monitors. Hauptwerk 7 is awsome. Today I published a Trumpet Voluntary recorded with Alessandria, all maxed out (I have a new heavy duty computer). 30.000 polyphony, high def, split the stereo channels, all perspectives, 24 bit, 96khz, natural reverb. I was overwhelmed by the mighty sound. Especially everything that happens after you release the key or pedal is much better and realistic. It’s so cool!
Thank you so much 😊 Music coming very very soon (watch out for a shared recital with John Hosking and I on the 17th: th-cam.com/video/wzh2KLnlWt4/w-d-xo.html )
Thanks for this Jerry. I was indeed playing around in some of those screens just yesterday as I was fine tuning the reverb settings on one of my samples using the tipps and tricks I learned from your previous video on this area of Hauptwerk. I should take the time sometime towards the end of this week to dabble my toes in this section of the software more. I like what I can do with, but I guess I could say that I am limited by my unfamiliarity with this area (not doing it often enough) and I quite haven't figured out just yet what I want out of it for most sample sets.
Your'e welcome and I'm glad you found it helpful - do keep playing around and finding what sounds best to YOU! That's the joy of all of this - making the sound completely yours!
Thank you so much 😊 So in my case the audio is improved - but I changed too many things at once - my room accoustic, some new speakers and amps... all that said - I am hearing consistent reports from others that, especially with the smaller organs, there is much more clarity and "life" when all the advanced audio processing settings are turned on. In my specific case I am beyond astonished with how good Nancy sounds now!
Hi Jerry, I'm pretty comfortable with the basics but I'd like to know more about perspectives--especially as they relate to wet samplesets (as that is all I have). For example, would you want to truncate all tails before adding any "outside" reverb? Can you play two different perspectives on one stereo pair of speakers? Thanks, Michael
Thank you Michael! All great questions. Indeed you can use additional perspectives and reverb on a wet set, even over headphones (check out the results on the Friesach set in this video studio.th-cam.com/users/videoFm6ecJzN7_M/edit ) - regarding truncation - yes, but I do it using the voicing screen - so for example, the main perspective I may leave the set with its "native" reverb, then perspective 2 I will route through a reverb pathway, but using the voicing screen I adjust the release truncation slider you will find for perspective 2 for all ranks to about 150ms. (I think this i better than loading the sampleset "simulated dry" as this way you have the flexibility to fine-tune and add/remove truncation differnetly on each of the 4 perspectives)
Tankyou for the tutorial, i have use the hauptwerk for my church organ pipe, for complete the stop pipe,, but i have problem for delay, cant i have the solution,,,? Tank for the answer,,
Like 3 weeks ago i finally upgraded my decade old Hauptwerk 4 license to a Hauptwerk 6 pro one. Now they've released Hauptwerk 7. I feel like if i upgrade to Hauptwerk 7 that they'll release Hauptwerk 8 right after that and when i upgrade to Hauptwerk 8 they'll release Hauptwerk 9 😂. But i don't really have a use case for upgrading.. better focus on my playing skills. Interesting video nonetheless 👍
Thanks Richard 😊 Actually you should probably check with support @ hauptwerk . com - I understand that there is a period of several weeks (under which you might fall) in that recent VI purchases are eligible for VII free upgrade! That all said; the differences between 4 and 6 are astronomical. 6-7 has some nice things, but it's not as huge of a jump (and most importantly, 5, 6, 7 are all in the same 'family' (iLok) meaning all sample sets will work with them...
Hi Casper - do you have Hauptwerk "advanced" edition - this may be it, it may not be included in the basic version - that's the only thing I can think of :(
After reading many issues on installing HW v. 5... I didn´t had the nerve to move from my beloved v. 4.2. Is there a wat that you or someone else could install v. VII on a distant setup via sharing computer?
Jerry, i really appreciate your video, it is great that someone professional like you, shares there knowledge with new players like me. Very helpful and greatly appreciated !!! 👏
Thank you so much 😊 Let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see or learn more about!
Thanks Jerry, I’m definitely going to watch this when I have time very soon! X
Thanks Richard - we didn't get *everything* we hoped for, but we did get a lot!! (Copy/paste between presets would be AMAZING)

Perfekt instructions Jerry, thank you very much. Updating to Hauptwerk 7 is now a must have for me
Great to hear! 😊
You are our Hauptwerk Guru! Thank you for your insight into this Pandora’s box of complexity!👍
Thank you so much Maestro! 😊

Very well made instructional tutorial for Hauptwerk 7 users who need to use some advanced features. Thank you Jerry!
Thank you so much 😊 Real music is coming soon.... but I have one more fun video first ... 😊
Thanks for sharing this info with us! You make it seem much less daunting to try to use these controls.
Thank you so much 😊
Yay! Looking forward to trying this out soon Jerry, so thanks for the perfect timing!

A user-friendly mixer interface would be quite something, wouldn’t it?! Maybe one day - HW 8?😬

Thank you so much Ralph! And I agree - I know there is a journey for hauptwerk to travel - onward and upward!

Oh my goodness! Thank you Rien - I'm glad you enjoyed this - but my GOSH that's a beast of a computer! Bravo!!!!!
Jerry, very 8 threshing even if well above my head. Looking forward to you playing pieces on this. Greetings from New Zealand

Working through delay issues can be a challenge: but make sure you have the best drivers for your audio system (ASIO) is important.
