Also the paper in a bowl game is called “Fish Bowl”. Whoever taught you might not have known the name. That or they had a “he who will not be named” thing going on😂
There's a game that myself and a group of friends and family members have been playing for over 40 years. It is Avoln Hill Rail Baron. Now, we do have several house rules.
I just recently bought and played my first game ever of Ticket to Ride. We got the OG version, and I honestly don't know how it took me this long to play it. Super fun. Now I just have to get my new deluxe Castles of Burgundy to the table and play that game for the first time. 😳
I splurged on the special edition of CoB...and I've never regretted it. Usually for a box that big, people go, whoa, that game must take like 12 hours to play. Nope, it's just a beautiful, elegant, design deluxified to the hilt. It's the only kickstarter I own my wife will actually play with me :). Wingspan, nuff said.
Castles of Burgundy, sooooo good. If you have ever seen Supernatural, then you would know that to kill vampires you cut off their heads and the way to kill ghosts is salt and burn their bones.
Love Twilight Struggle, die Burgen and Monikers! I think the game of Go will be played millenia from now... For something closer to home I would say Race for the Galaxy. I can see Scotland Yard following the Monikers route of being reinvented every decade or so: Letters from Whitechapel in 2011--> Mind MGMT in 2021...
For me I cant see mythic mischief, or root ever going away. I don't think too many bones will but I'm curious if elder scrolls will take its place since they seem similar. Honestly almost anything from leder, iv, or chip theory has a good chance of always being something I'm eager to play at any given time.
I'm gonna probably get dumped on, but Monopoly will never die. I will probably never play it again, but almost everyone has interacted with it. Catan is also very ubiquitous in the community.
I agree with Jeff that castles might be perfect mechanically. It's a fantastic game and, honestly, the only downside is learning the yellow building powers/interpreting the iconography on the player aids. Outside of that, in my opinion, learning to play the game isn't that complex and it works soooooo well!! Also, I've just recently started playing the Wingspan app and it really is a fantastic game!! It didn't appeal to me, thematically, at all, but once I gave it a chance I realized the hype is legit. Excellent game!!
Good picks! And I love Castles of Burgundy ❤ A Stefan Feld classic. I bought Fuji Flush some time ago but for some reason I can't convince people to give it a try 🤦🏼♀️
My collection of games has some lesser talked about games that apparently will never die for me - I’ve had them for 10 to 20 years. and they’re still getting played: - Cleopatra and the Society of Architects - 2006 - Yspahan - 2006 - Helden in der Unterwelt - 2005 - Era of Inventions - 2010 - Last Will - 2011 among others
Haven't played Castles of Burgundy but very interested. I'm waffling daily on buying the special edition but it's a lot of money. Gotta have Azul on my never die list
When it comes to pandemic, season 1 is like playing 12 games of normal pandemic with some add one. If you don’t like pandemic, don’t play season 1. Season 0 shakes things up big time and Star Wars is like a completely different game and is a lot of fun if you know the clone wars show and even if you don’t.
I'd put Scythe on this list! Love that thing. Everdell doesn't click with my wife, but I have a certain appreciation for it. We do love Castles of Burgundy Deluxe and we'll be playing it forever. I have Root but it's a bit intimidating, although the app is helpful. My only problem with Undaunted is which set to buy?! Thanks for the great content! You guys are rockstars!
@@FostertheMeepleYou are totally right. It's always good to start at the beginning! (Remember the first video on your channel? Wasn't it Jamie and Isle of Cats? Classic!)
Funnily enough the games that no-one has mentioned and have stood the test of time are Chess, Monopoly and Cluedo. They still sell by the shedful even now.
One that will never die for me and will probably live forever as a niche game is the 18XX series. It seems once you get into those you play them forever! It's just not everyone's cup of tea.
I don't think Villainous or Dominion will ever die in my collection. Although, "never" is a strong word. I'm pretty sure that Silver Bullet once was on this list for you guys, and we all know how that turned out...
Jamie has my favourite personality of any board gamer on TH-cam. So funny. And I can relate to Jeff 😂
This will go to her head!
Also the paper in a bowl game is called “Fish Bowl”. Whoever taught you might not have known the name. That or they had a “he who will not be named” thing going on😂
Great listing! ❤ I'm guessing Azul probably needs to be on this list (especially with multiple versions).
I wouldn’t disagree!
Oh my yes! Azul is wonderful! We own every version and everyone is great!
While Dracula may die. Fury of Dracula will never die for me.
For us it's Century Golems. So easy to table, always a fun time.
Haven’t played that one in awhile!! Good choice though
Thank you for the PSA announcement haha - very important. Really great idea for a video for October and love the list!
Thanks for watching!
There's a game that myself and a group of friends and family members have been playing for over 40 years. It is Avoln Hill Rail Baron. Now, we do have several house rules.
Too Many Bones. Quacks Of Quedlinburg, Dice Throne are three more games that I think will never die. Cheers 🍻
Love the Unmatched pick! So true
We literally paused your video to show my husband the baseball scene. Love you guys
LOL. It’s so ridiculous
Castle of Burgundy is on my list to eventually buy for sure. Great list as always! Imhotep would be one for me I hope doesn't die
It’s a great one!!
You need to bring the Halloween background back. Fun video

Just want to add that Jamie's sweater is on point!
Just played my first game of Castles of Burgundy on BGA. SOOO good. I totally get the hype.
It can be an addiction that’s for sure

100% agreed on CoB special edition
Castles of Burgundy, sooooo good.
If you have ever seen Supernatural, then you would know that to kill vampires you cut off their heads and the way to kill ghosts is salt and burn their bones.
We are now better prepared for our eventual defense against the beasts and ghouls!
I feel like you can really see the strain on Jeff having to tolerate and manage the TH-cam comments in this one 😂
Thank you for understanding my plight

Gotta get Castles of burgundy one day, definitely agree with unmatched and pandemic
And to be fair, Monopoly and Clue will probably never die
Castles of Burgundy is a masterpiece! Just a fulfilling experience. You can also try Saint Petersburg ! One of my ol' time favs ♥️
I very much want to try that game!!

Yea for sure!! Both fall into the “obvious” category we were avoiding here.
I would say Codenames and Just One. Codenames has many iterations.
Good choices!

Yea wingspan is a really fun engine builder! Glad to hear you’re enjoying it!
Great commitment to theme. I appreciate that you pronounce ‘about’ as ‘abooot’ just for the video.

Haven’t played a lot of these!
Haven't played Castles of Burgundy but very interested. I'm waffling daily on buying the special edition but it's a lot of money.
Gotta have Azul on my never die list
Yea azul is a good shout!! Feel like that would be a common choice
Another video idea could be games that Just wont die. Monopoly is primed for that list. It just WONT die.
I actually like monopoly. Monopoly deal is peak monopoly

I’d say for undaunted, Normandy is a great place to start. It’s the OG after all!

I still need to try and 18xx!
It is mostly an economic game though so versions border on war games, lol.
@@jogumby LOVE war games
Dice Throne on the same level as Unmatched? Feel like you could go with either there in that category.
Agreed!
Great list! Curious as to why Everdell doesn't resonate as much with y'all?
Honestly? I don’t know. It should work for us but for some reason, it didn’t. We want to try it again soon, it’s been awhile
How were Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, and Wingspan on the list but Catan wasnt? It has the same effect as you talked about for Wingspan.
Why does it matter? It’s our list haha.
I don't think Villainous or Dominion will ever die in my collection.
Although, "never" is a strong word. I'm pretty sure that Silver Bullet once was on this list for you guys, and we all know how that turned out...
I just played silver bullet! Safe to say it’s doing just fine.
If i could only buy one...should it be Villanous or an Unmatched ?
Can’t really answer that for you! Whatever one interests you most! Both are great games in our opinion.
Can’t say I’m not offended Azul didn’t make it. Still love ya, but ya screwed the pooch.
LOL. Ya win some ya lose some
how about Silver bullet? is it DEAD!? 😢
Played it last night!
@@FostertheMeeple YES!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌
Perfect🤗 🔥🔥🔥
Catan should be on this list
We mention at the beginning we wouldn’t be talking about the obvious games, which Catan is one of.
Ahhh gotcha makes sense!@@FostertheMeeple
Please please pleaseeee play pandemic legacy 1! It’s the dragon I feel I will be chasing forever
I’m confident we will eventually!
For me, Splendor would never die, nor will Fleet the dice game
Lost cities
Honestly, I kept getting distracted by FG in the background. The foil makes it look like it’s got backlighting 👌🏻🫶🏻
