That was incredible ! Bike choice vindicated right there. And sheer bloody-minded brazen gumption ! I just could not have imagined that was going to work.
+vitaly deuterium Too right! The taller horse was 100% the better choice here! Helped along by a little bit of suspending sensible thought for a short while. Oh and a healthy smattering of blind luck that the track lead somewhere! !!
+Sullybiker You're so very right! And man made obstacles are nothing compared to the 28 million gallons of water that seemed to fall on my head last time!
Word! No risk, no reward right ;) Love your vids man, but I sold my silver Versys 650 -07 for a KTM 990 SMT. It's honestly like a Versys on anabolics, amazing.
Excellent stuff! Soiled myself laughing at your satnav rant! (not lol but sml!) and and superb green lne ride-around - result! Tuesday AMC is almost more eagerly anticipated than the Wednesday night ride-out!
You have picked a bad time. Roads usually get resurfaced in the summer, cause everyone is on holiday anway. And of course in winter you won't have road workers getting their healthy leather tan while working topless next to hot tarmac.
+Phil Tonic Very good points Phil. How could i be so naive to think they'd leave it all open a little longer just for me. And next time I'm going through on the train so i won't get to see the new roads! Strangely i didn't actually see a single Bauarbeiter though! They're all on holiday too!
For a moment there when you passed the two local bikers I thought we were going to be treated to another episode of Road Rash! I'll take the offroad adventure as a great alternative though :) Never a dull moment eh?
We had exactly the same thing coming back through Germany last September. We left Austria and came up towards Heidelberg and I lost count on how many times we came up against road blocks. Think the sat nav ended up blowing a fuse
+ST on Tour It's really very frustrating. But i get that they can't exactly fix those roads in the winter! But they could at least leave a small lane for the bikers to get through!
Nice ride, roadblocks are a pain in the arse... Even worse are the roads which are just blocked for bikes, you get a few down here... Would be cool to be able to follow your route via google maps! Big thumbs up again though!
I was hearing the Deliverance dueling banjos for a minute there Andy , be careful ! It's going to be awful hard to ride a motorcycle a long distance after some crazy backwoods people ........well.......you know what they do !
+Minion Ninja16 Cheers MN16! Those chichen strips got a good beating! And thanks to the longer suspension of the versys, my arse didn't in the off roady bit! I'm always listening out for banjo music. Especially when folks are randomly gathering around the entrance to what is clearly untamed wilderness!
+metalhead18241 Yeah it's a little more nerve racking than the black top eh?! Especially when your tyres are so badly suited you may as well have ice slicks!
I got excited at the thought of your flaps open. That's always great news! Your rant at the GPS was awesome! LMAO Those bloody bugs again! What an awesome little adventure you had! Glad you didn't bin it up there and have your organs harvested by mountain gypsies.
+MrAusAdventure Yep, all told, i was a very lucky adventurer. Forging across new territory, literally hundreds of meters from modem civilisation! I'm glad you understand fully the peril i was in mate. Thanks.
Great Video again ! Small favour to ask, can you give the occasional Report on how the Booster Plug is performing, am thinking of getting one and would just like to know it is still working okay. Thanks
Thanks Mick. No problem at all. I will continue to comment on it throughout this series, as I was so very much enamoured with it! 6 months or so on and it is still working like a dream.
Has Germany been finished being built yet? Lucky you were on a versatile bike. My exhaust is the same. Sounds louder the longer it's on. Will you be doing a what you took on the trip video again?
NOPE!! And it's starting to feel like it NEVER will be! I think anything less versatile and we'd have had another crash to add to my tally! I think I probably should do a equipment sum up vid at the end. There are lots of new and different things that I did and took this time round.
Your videos are timeless, just great! Appreciated for many reasons but specifically watching this time to get a better mounting point for my Sony AS100V (ancient I know). Damn AGV helmet curves and their tilted angles. It's been sh&^^@^ rain for four days straight so...yeah, trying to sort things.
Thank you kindly Eric. I would highly recommend looking up Sugru. I’ve used it on two helmet mounts now. Remove the sticky pad from the mount and use the sugru in its place. Filled all the gaps and deals with crazy contours. Also sticks like sh1t to a blanket!
Mate your videos make me laugh like the old BVG videos did but with less road range. Great effort. Always cheers up my crappy train commute seeing a new episode of fuckery.
great stuff as usual Andy. Question about your helmet (oooh Matron) .. Have you tried different helmets and settled on the current one because it's quiet? (relatively) and do you wear earplugs. Bikes with screens tend do create buffeting so just curious if the MTR is recommended. Cheers
Cheers Billy. The main deciding factor for the MTR was weight. Even the non Carbon version weighs about 1200g. Feels light as a feather. The next was cost and I didn't get to try out the quietness until I was on the road. I'd read lots of reviews and the majority said it was quiet, but that's always to be taken with a pinch of salt. In any case, it is an exceptionally quiet helmet. Way better than any more expensive ones I've tried. Plus there is a Carbon fibre version which is lighter still. On the negative side, the visor is faffy to change, the plastic trim at the back fell out and the eye hole is a little bit smaller than I'd like. You lose a chunck of peripheral vision. Now I've got the Nishua Enduro Carbon it feels like before I was riding with my eyes half closed!! But for the money, I would definitely recommend the MTR.
+Obu Hey! I just put in a start and and end and then added waypoints and detours to make it interesting! Also there was a always a bit of shifting the destinations back and forth to make the distance fit.
Can you maybe make a video to explain what you take in preparation of a trip? I'm new to travelling, but planning on a 5000K trip to scotland next summer. I have genuinely bo idea what to take and what not and I'm afraid to be stranded in the middle of nowhere
@@AndyManCam Yeah, figured it would be more of a springtime type od content. For now, just make us jealous with the switzerland tour. Keep up the good work man
Great clutch fit buddy - god I'm years behind I know. Question - how did you find touring on a 650cc bike? I always thought they were too underpowered for munching the miles. Fast forward 2 years of course you are on a different bike(what made you change?) - I'm off for a week so enjoying the blogs buddy
Better late than never mate. I found the touring fine tbh. More than enough power. Could’ve been a little bit smoother, but ultimately plenty enough go for touring. Being a bit bigger was also a real benefit of the Versys. I changed so that i could have something a little bit more Hooligan and less vibey. So far, very happy!
+Fubarthenomad Hahahaha! Very funny! Maybe i should put a space in there like you did! I'd hate for people to think they're getting a European tool review series and instead find me charging around talking nonsense!
Detour on offroad was simply amazing. I had stopped breathing. At the end... tarmac! Ah ah ah!
Haha! Imagine how I felt! Still, no risk no fun!
Fantastic! thus far on this trip it looks like your biggest obstacles are all man-made things, unlike the rain on the last tour.
+Sullybiker You're so very right! And man made obstacles are nothing compared to the 28 million gallons of water that seemed to fall on my head last time!
Its nice having a Bike like the Versys when we need to take a dirt road like that! We get to see places we normally would never see.
Too right! I'd have been further comforted had I had a few more knobbles on my tyres though!!
This trip gets better with each video. love it. Great bit of off roading BTW.
I' VERY happy to hear that mate! From 1st hand, it got better still!
No way I thought that dirt road detour would actually work! Awesome exciting stuff, keep them coming!
Thanks! If I'm honest, I wasn't too sure it would work either! Had to give it a shot though eh?!
Word! No risk, no reward right ;) Love your vids man, but I sold my silver Versys 650 -07 for a KTM 990 SMT. It's honestly like a Versys on anabolics, amazing.
The road gods are playing with you. Thanks for the video.
+Idaho Rider Certainly seems like it! I'm the class clown to those Tarmac dominion sadists!
Fafftastic green stuff with a double de clutch. Tres petty pois enjoyable Rodney
Mange tout, mange tout.
Road blocks everywhere, love the off-road action...lol..RSM8
Cheers Kev! It was a little silly, but all adds to the adventure!!
great as usual sir, muti camera gorgeousness on the twisties!! amazing roads!
+Lamb Chop Rides Thank you dear. And roadwise, the best is still very much yet to come!
Excellent stuff! Soiled myself laughing at your satnav rant! (not lol but sml!) and and superb green lne ride-around - result! Tuesday AMC is almost more eagerly anticipated than the Wednesday night ride-out!
SML! Brilliant! I even had a chuckle as I'd forgotten all about it! That's very strong praise Neil, I thank you most kindly.
Just goes to show how quickly you can go from sweeping bends on great tarmac to arse clenching tracks. Good section that!
+Roussillon 1 It does! Quicker than the drop of a roadblock! Some Knobblies would have made it a bit more fun though!
You have picked a bad time. Roads usually get resurfaced in the summer, cause everyone is on holiday anway. And of course in winter you won't have road workers getting their healthy leather tan while working topless next to hot tarmac.

I'd hoped that would be the case! Sadly I was destined to continue as the lone ranger! Luckily I squeezed some other adventure in there!
Another great ride except the road blocks .
Looking forward to what's coming up.
+W3TFART Cheers. Just hopefully no more bleeding roadblocks! It's fast becoming a theme!
Ah ha! I now see why the navigation upgrade was needed. Still great video mate 👍🏻
+Fibroboy Exactly! Nothing but hatred for the phone based satnav and german roadwork combo on this trip!
Loved the aggressive and off roading I this one.
+CNCycle Cheers mate! Had a lot of fun that day! A little bit of terror, but mostly fun!
smo, spicy, phil480, now Andymancam? have the powers that be decided Greenlaning is the flavour of the week.
good work though, enjoying the series.
Quite possibly! Though as Uncle ben said "Some are born for greenlaning, others have greenlaning forced upon them"
Nice ride, roadblocks are a pain in the arse... Even worse are the roads which are just blocked for bikes, you get a few down here... Would be cool to be able to follow your route via google maps! Big thumbs up again though!
Thanks mate. I'm going to have to make more effort to document the route for the next trip. Lots of requests for it and I really dropped the ball!
I was hearing the Deliverance dueling banjos for a minute there Andy , be careful ! It's going to be awful hard to ride a motorcycle a long distance after some crazy backwoods people ........well.......you know what they do !
It's ok. I was hearing it too! You need a bit of fear to keep the adrenaline running and get you through!
Great episode, the OFAH reference made me laugh :-)
Cheers! Bonnet de douche!
Great off road and some chicken strip scrubbing action there mate. Stay safe and look out for banjo music when your doing the greenlaning stuff
Ahh, I done off-roading on my bike whilst in Ireland, certainly not the most fun thing... Good job making it through though!
+metalhead18241 Yeah it's a little more nerve racking than the black top eh?! Especially when your tyres are so badly suited you may as well have ice slicks!
bit of a pain and satnav trying to have you over, more roadworks don't they know your on tour............ BTW great editing
Too right! They were all plotting against me! Luckily fearlessness and stupidity win again!! Thanks Nicola!
Hey andy man cam it was a nice movie. but now i even want to know where you purchased that action cam stick holder for the handle bar? grtz
I got excited at the thought of your flaps open. That's always great news!

Good stuff! You make me laugh everyt time :)
+Bobik Bobik Thanks BB! Happy to hear it!
Hey mate love the videos, maybe worth trying out the Sygic navigation app. Been using it on the bike for a while now, decent bit of kit.
+wheeliepw I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I've gone a step further and got a Garmin Zumo. Sorry. 😶
Lol so have I mate great bit of kit and also invested in the tyre pressure monitors that wirelessly connect to the garmin
Has Germany been finished being built yet? Lucky you were on a versatile bike. My exhaust is the same. Sounds louder the longer it's on. Will you be doing a what you took on the trip video again?

Did you take waterproofs this time? ;)
andymancam does enduro XD
+Nicholas Petrou And i kinda likes it! 😎

+Jay Neutron Thanks Jay. That's good stuff to be compared against. Long may it continue!

Hey Andy how exactly did you plan the route via google maps? Awesome series btw really enjoying it :>

I know, I know. I'm really going 'Off Brand' here! Sit tight, I'll see what I can do!
Alls good, Andy. Just glad you didn't throw it down in the mud B-)
pukka adventuringz! :D
+Hippo-Drones The trip MUST go on, and always forwards never back! !
I know those many German roadblocks only too well! can cause any sane human being to loose their shit.
They really can. And the crop up seemingly overnight!!
I was prepared you would bump into some gypsy camp and have a puncture :D or your clutch cable would break again )) so disappointing...
SORRY!! Though the anticipation must have been exciting!? Maybe next time...
😎
:D
watched allof these so far and just realised that it euro too ! and not Euro Tool :) sorry lol
+Fubarthenomad Hahahaha! Very funny! Maybe i should put a space in there like you did! I'd hate for people to think they're getting a European tool review series and instead find me charging around talking nonsense!
