What a Vid!!! I can feel like I’m almost there!!! The vibe of “the chase” combine with your riding skill, priceless! Thank you Andy and well done!!! ❤👏🏍️
In the first few seconds there's a Polish lady in the background, saying 'jaki malutki!'. That's what she said. Thanks Andy for reminding me what a great time I had in Romania last year, riding the same roads you are showing. On an old Versys 650 like yours years ago. Cheers from Poland.
HAHAHA! Who knows what was going on in her tent!? 😂 My pleasure mate, thanks for watching! And nice bike! I've often thought that I've essentially gone full circle and come back to a mid weight 600cc parallel twin. I could have just kept the versys and saved a LOT of money!!
Great content. I must have missed this road in September but won't next time. You are so right about the lack of nanny-state crap in Romania. That attitude was everywhere, not just about driving/riding. Thanks for posting on a cold, damp and cloudy November morning.
Thanks very much! Yeah it‘s easy to miss the ones that everybody isn’t talking about. I’m sure we still only scratched the surface of what the region has to offer.
Andy and Ian, please let them coming. This trip made me go out to my garage, stroke my Africa Twin and said, next year my friend we're going to Romania. Very enjoyable videos from you, again😃
Cold and wet here in Oregon. The bike's on the charger. Rain in the forecast for at least the next week. But I get up to find three--three!--AMC videos have dropped on the same day. Just spent an enjoyable morning with a cup of tea in my hand and a sleeping dog's head on my lap devouring them all. Good to have you back.
"Where you go, I follow" - very apt lyrics - thanks for the songs, more to watch, but had to post with those words in my head!! "Just a bikers playground in Heaven"- from the lips of the AMC Tour Guide!! And - I'm only 6 minutes in... LOL! Amazing roads though and very green and luscious landscapes and great weather too, that you have had the luck to progress into Autumn. Your camera does well crossing from light to shade and good resolution too. Great sounds from your mic as well. The GS would have had a lot more rubber on the road and horsepower/kg (lol) as well. Although it proves your fuel economy is a lot better than his would be as he is heavier to start with. Although, I have had my R1200RT up to 65mpg over twisty, hilly roads as well. But I use the low down torque and pull through the corners. More video to come... at 50% ... And pitching tents together - thanks for the vids, Ian has a much bigger tent - takes the same time to erect, and seems more suitable for someone 50+ ... - does Ian have a bedroll mat? Anyway, I was surprised how2 few roads were closed yet they had quite some road engineering taking place - new bridge etc, and then, back in Germany, back to the usual B roads blocked again! Thanks Andy, really enjoyed the quality of your vids and the commentary. DJI camera? Then there was "The Grim Reaper" and then after closed roads and detours, Colditz castle - Thanks mate.
Thank you very much again Graeme. Yeah the camera is a DJI Osmo Action 4, hooked up to a DJI Mic 2. Best setup I've ever used so far. 👍🏻 The tent race was an event every day. Ian got quicker, but never as quick as my tiny tent, obviously! (Kind of cheating really). Ian did have a 12 cm thick airbed, so he was plenty comfy!! The contrast between all open roads, despite the passes only just being opened to the public, versus germany with 30% of ALL of the roads fully closed, was astonishing! The safety and risk aspect is obviously far more relaxed in Romania! Although they actually got the work done too! Most roadworks in Germany stand for weeks/months with nothing happening! Cheers for coming along mate and I'll see you in the next one!!
A superb tour, Andy. Many thanks for taking us along. I had no idea Romania was so beautiful. Makes me wonder why hordes of them chose to come to the UK a few years ago.
My pleasure Jim, thanks for coming along again! I guess the beauty of the land doesn’t put food on the table. That, or they just have different marking criteria to us bikers?! 😅
Thanks mate! Yeah I thought I'd try that out. Took longer to edit, obviously, but looks like it means a lot more eyeballs on all episodes, rather than only on the first one!
Loved the production on this series Andy! Agreed, Romania / Carpathians any time over Alps. The great thing is you jump on he Carpathians in Baia Mare, and just follow the mountain range clockwise around the country - and voila 3500 km of spectacular roads, little to no traffic, offroading if you want to! I did the 7A, loved it. When you are in the area next time and fancy some offroading - try the 66A! It quickly goes unpaved, and the area around Cerna lake is just magical. Your Touareg would love that terrain there.
I'm sure that if we'd had more time over there, there would have been easily twice as many amazing roads. YOur sitting room would have been a right mess!
i was home sick and this video brought me some comfort. Still unbelievable to see how many riders go through these roads and never make it down to Valea Oltului. You stopped at Bradisor dam and maybe another 40 minutes to the Olt quays at Calimanesti. I guess the traffic in e81 can put people off... anyway... cheers
Happy to hear that mate. I can understand why you'd be homesick! Hopefully I'll get another crack sometime and be able to see everything that I missed this time. Cheers!
Very nice andy 👌 nice sense of humor 😆 it would be even more enjoyable if we can hear what the old man is saying. And now the long wait begins before the weather will be nice and sunny to get back on the road on some adventures. Must say the aprilia sounds way better then the honda 😋
Andy, you have just scratched the surface of the Carpathian roads. Please do come back again and explore further, you will be amazed. Best regards, Vlad
I can totally imagine Vlad! From what we saw, there were no bad roads and it seemed that the country just went on and on! If we'd only had more time.... I'd love to come back and see more of what's on offer.
If you watch this to series made by Charlie Ottley you will definitely want to come back. Wild Carpathia and Flavours of Romania. 😊 Thanks to Mr Charlie for what he did for as ,Romanians, and most of all ,thank you Andy for choosing my country. I enjoyed every second of your trip .
Klasse Bilder, Andy. DLzG
Colditz- prisoners built a plane to escape I believe. Andy. Your footage Andand production is fab. Speechless. And Ian grow yr beard again. What were you thinking?? Would've loved to see Ian's footage of grossglockner. Smile😊
@AndyManCam I always wanted to visit Romania on motorcycle but it's a bit boring to get there from Zagreb, 500-600km with no curves, Bosnia, Austria, Italy, coast are much closer to have great fun...but now I've seen this and I think I can manage those straights to get there 😏
I do like this bike you've got. looks fun when you're at you fun twisty bits, but what is it like on the long slog to get there? Seems quite revvy. is it less so in top gear when cruising? 80ish+, Autobahns of course...
It’s LOTS of fun mate. In the long slog it’s the second most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden. Obviously the KTM 1090 ADV was the first, but the seat was like an armchair and heated! Reviness really isn’t that bad. Naturally cruising at 90mph will give you the tinglies, but at a respectable 75 it’s way less buzzy than the Honda CB1000R ever was.
Could have helped with a few of more good twisties near Trans Semenic. Give us a shout next time as all tourists only know TransFagarasan, and Alpina, but there’s a lot more.
That would have been great Radu, sadly we were pretty tight for time and needed to just blast through! Maybe next time we'll have a more relaxed schedule, now that we know that there is WAY too much to see in just a few days! Cheers!
Went to Romania as a teenager in the 70s, remember the wonderful people and scenery (and the bears!), must go back on my Ducati😎. PS. Yes, I’m really that old😂🥲
Hey. Fantastic journey! It sounds you like your Touareg. I’m also doing long trips and after 4 years owning my lovely T7 I’m thinking to change something … would you recommend you the aprilia?
"Only Mad Dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun?" Was it Rudyard Kipling or Noel Coward? One of the teachers in my school was, erm, incarcerated in Colditz. He produced "papers" for the escapees.
I would have liked to give it a crack, but when one of your party is almost 70, with a transplanted kidney and a chest infection, it's nice to have a few facilities! 😜
I wanted to keep things simple on this trip, on account of the camping and not knowing how many batteries i could charge! Also the editing was much faster with the single ‚simple‘ cameras. But don’t worry, the insta360 X4 will be in the next two adventures.
@@AndyManCam Sure thing. I know how the editing is easier, believe me. Keep up the fun videos! Always a pleasure to watch. Also, give a ring, when you are heading towards Rheinland-Pfalz again. Lunch or dinner and a cold beer is always waiting for you here. 🙂
Who in their right mind puts a life sized(?) grim reaper in their front yard? The same doughnut who takes a drum kit to a camp site maybe? Fab three videos. Just one question (for copycat planning purposes), what time of year was this?
Thank you for the multiple eyegasms this morning, Andy! Great way to start the weekend 😍 I think I enjoyed the transalpina most. Let's do it again sometime 😘
Awesome roads, brilliant riding, informative comical commentary. Very jealous, please don’t stop this therapeutic content, ride safe
Thanks Chris. Very glad you enjoyed it mate. I really enjoyed putting this one together! The ’therapy’ shall continue, i promise.
What a Vid!!! I can feel like I’m almost there!!! The vibe of “the chase” combine with your riding skill, priceless! Thank you Andy and well done!!! ❤👏🏍️
Cheers mate! Glad it felt that way! ☺️
Stunning tour. Thanks Andy. Brilliant. Made we wonder about trying camping on my European tours, certainly keep the costs down.
Enjoyed that. Checking the comments to see if the GS guy complained about you holding him up 😮
In the first few seconds there's a Polish lady in the background, saying 'jaki malutki!'. That's what she said.

Great series Andy. Tons of twisty action and comedy ramblings. Fantastic that you released them all at once and good luck finding a new job..
Thanks very much John! All episodes at once seems to work well! Only problem is the extended editing time!
Great content. I must have missed this road in September but won't next time. You are so right about the lack of nanny-state crap in Romania. That attitude was everywhere, not just about driving/riding. Thanks for posting on a cold, damp and cloudy November morning.

Great, I have that road from Brezoi to Petrosani in my upcoming Balkan trip for May '25 and I'm happy you confirm it's worth riding it.
DEFINITELY worth it! You'll have a great time mate!
Andy and Ian, please let them coming. This trip made me go out to my garage, stroke my Africa Twin and said, next year my friend we're going to Romania. Very enjoyable videos from you, again😃
Awesome reaction! 😍 Cheers very much mate!
Another great series of videos. Good to see you back!
Thanks very much Mr Buzz! On to the next adventure!
We have an amazing country.
Yes! You really do! 😍
One word, Superb 👍
Welcome to Romania! love the moto trips vids! great video btw. ! Ride safe!
Thanks very much! Glad you enjoyed the vids!

lol hordes?....you mean the muslims right? the ones that will colonise you....🤣🤣🤣
No. Wrong. Bad.
Great series Andy. Quite enjoyed having them all available to play quickly after each other too 👍
Thanks mate! Yeah I thought I'd try that out. Took longer to edit, obviously, but looks like it means a lot more eyeballs on all episodes, rather than only on the first one!
3 times in one day. Almost makes me feel like my 20s again. Keep them coming.
😂🤣😆 Brilliant.
This Romanian sojourn has been awesome- ta very much.
My pleasure entirely! Thanks for coming along!
Brilliant stuff once again Andy. Great series 👌👌👌👏👏👏
Still the best on U tube 👍

I'll definitely be watching all these three again, and again. 👍
Music to my ears. Cheers muchly mate! 🙏🏻
Fantastic mountain range! I think it's so interesting that every mountain range has its own different characteristics and landscape.
I mean I cant quite believe it - yet another awesome road (the third!) fed to and unravelled in my sitting room! 👌
I'm sure that if we'd had more time over there, there would have been easily twice as many amazing roads. YOur sitting room would have been a right mess!

@20:39 watching your video as I'm currently living in Germany and you are stopped in a gas station in my hometown :))
Crazy stuff! What a strange, small world eh!
did 14 days around the Balkans in late september early oct this year and it was everything your saying....magnifique for riding
I bet that was awesome! It really is a tremendous region. I want to go back already!
That’s a nice surprise for a Saturday morning, nobody does a tour series like AMC
Cheers very much Peter! Glad you enjoyed the surprise! 😊
It's always a blast most enjoyable
Cheers very much Gregg!

Love the Judith Chalmers reference 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a reference which is getting less and less likely to be fully understood!! 🤣
Three in one day! What a legend
I’m not a hero, I’m just a guy doing what he can… wait… you didn’t say hero?…
What a road, what a scenery 😍
I know, right?! Amazing corner of the earth.

@maredox It‘s well worth the effort mate. Plus once you get there, the place is massive and stuffed to the rafters with twisties and forests!
U camping it up ,😂 nice to see you back in the saddle hopefully wee find u well 😄
Campest rider in the region! Very well thanks. Fighting the good fight, trying to keep the man off my back long enough to get the vids out! 😅
Awesome Andy. Thanks for sharing
My pleasure entirely mate!

You’re not THAT old! I’m sure a lot of it hasn’t changed though! Although i am a bit jealous that i never got to see the Transalpina as an ADV trail.
@@AndyManCam, it actually changed a lot since then, don’t be cheeky it’s not you.
Haha! I meant in terms of the road and the scenery! Just as wild and beautiful as it ever was 🥰
Thanks mate.😎
Any time!

In Romania it will be more quiet in the wild, I recommend wild camping . :)
I would have liked to give it a crack, but when one of your party is almost 70, with a transplanted kidney and a chest infection, it's nice to have a few facilities! 😜
Brilliant...
Thanks Eddie!
The three of the roads should be collectively named as the Transpaghetti highways.
Thoroughly enjoyable watching old bean.
I totally agree! 🤣
Class 😊
At some point you should read Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” for some additional reference.
I probably should before the next visit!
If we knew you were coming to Romania, we would be waiting for you with bread and salt, as is traditional here, or with a beer :))))
That would have been splendid Luci! Sadly it all happened too fast and loose to really announce anything! Maybe next time!
What happened to your Insta360?

The funny thing is, he sounds just like that in real life…
Well that was a bit special...
That’s very much Mark! 🍻
Hey, you removed the flag from your account. Now i can watch your videos again... you see, politics on channel like this is never good...
Thank you for the multiple eyegasms this morning, Andy! Great way to start the weekend 😍 I think I enjoyed the transalpina most. Let's do it again sometime 😘
You're most very welcome! Transalpina again? I'm IN!!
