So cool to be seeing Maurice and Hayley singing Disney songs written by the Sherman Brothers together. Hayley was really good at that, especially in "The Parent Trap", in which she sang "Let's Get Together". And Maurice would then go on to sing "The Aristocats" theme, which was also written by Robert B. Sherman and Richard M. Sherman.
I went to see this film as an eight year old round about Christmas 1962. The special effects may seem tame by today's standard but back then I was enthralled, especially by the earthquake and aftermath sequence.
What is really crazy is that Maurice is much well known today than in France ( my country )... I asked some of my friends (24 to 30 years old) : never heard of him !!! ..thanks for the upload , just love this song 😉👍
While i enjoy your work, i don't think it's quite the level necessary for this project. But please, continue working at your craft, because you have enormous potential! Thank you so much for applying and keep on creating!
ahhh, Chevalier the great collaborator. This wonderful song captures the essence of living life under the Nazi occupation. Might as well make the most of the situation & enjoy it. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em! eh Maurice?
methinks the lady doth protest too much. Besides, no smoke without fire & all of that. Anyways, I'm not poking fingers at dear Maurice. I'm celebrating an idea of him serenading Gestapo officers in late night German cabarets & making the best of a bad situation. Ouila, that's life... Enjoy it!
Chevaliier was a prisoner of war in Germany during WW 1. In WW 2 he made a deal through the Vichy Government with Germany that he will enterain French POWs in the very same camp where he was a prisoner in WW 1 and in return he asked the Germans to release 10 French POWs. His show was recorded and played in other POW camps in Germany. Chevalier did nothing wrong but even got 10 POWs free. Besides that he had a Jewish girlfriend and saved her and her family. He could have gone to Hollywood (Lubitsch offered him a contract at the beginning of WW 2 but he said he will not leave France during this hard time. It is amazing that people like Pierre Dac who fled France and who haunted Chevalier with his hate and false accusations have still such an impact.
at this time walt dysney was great so great everybody run to the cinema for movies and cartoon of disney its another time, its was my time, so beautifull old time we were so happy

You can learn from yourself, Disney. Once upon a time you made good films
Faxts.😂
It nice to see the two Eurostars between England and France sing together
This is the day the Lord made, Rejoice and be glad in it🤷😘😻❤
Owe it to yourself🤷♀️🗝
Apparently Chevalier was a lifelong Disney fan. It really is a shame he never lived to see himself immortalized as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast.

That's awesome, didn't know that, I see an exact resemblance between him and the character.
Hayley Mills glowed, she glistened. She was unique.
I love this movie and I think Hayley Mills is a good singer actress !
Amen!!! Maurice Chevalier should be the icon of this day and age, with all of our worries and strife!
Ah Maurrrrrrrrice. How I love him and his wonderful charm.

Hayley Mills was so adorable in Pollyanna (very beautiful here too). "poppet", wow, impressive vocabulary.
Why is there only 552 likes but 80k views, y'all gotta enjoy it
A lot of us may want to view a thing, but don't really give a dam if anybody else likes or dislikes a thing...
wonderful...thank you
16-year old Hayley and legendary Maurice Chevalier in a Disney movie! No wonder she had second billing in this.
Love it!
aaaaaawwwwww :) :) :) life is a long travel... enjoy it!!!!! :)
🙏
That was Wilfrid Hyde-White, who played Pickering in "My Fair Lady." He had one of the most distinctive voices.
Higgins: Where does one buy a lady's gown?
Pickering: Whitely's, of course.
Higgins: How do you know that?
Pickering: Common knowledge.
Facts of Life
Definitely inspiration for Lumiere.

Great song, though your clip is slightly out of sync. Is it possible to put a better version up?
stoogeswoman Must be on your end. It's synced correctly.
sacré Maurice avec sa bonne gueule son accent Français. Too much "frenchy" with his typical accent ! (is it corect ?)
