    Gracias. Our thermostat is behind a door, so Nest never thinks we are home and the thermostat goes down to 60! We live in Nebraska, USA (COLD winters) so we have been freezing since install because of this irritating feature. I see the vision Nest had, but turns out I'm a finicky human, so I want to figure out my ideal heat on my own. So glad to find this video and solve our problem!

  • @lizard944
    @lizard944 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Thanks. My wife doesn't know how to use this so when she's cold she disables the A/C by just turning the temp ring to full 90 degrees. This was throwing off all of the algorithms. LOL! Followed your instructions and now we're all at peace !

    Crazy Nest. I'm surprised they didn't think that the incredibly amount of time likely invested into their predictive programming was bound to be flawed and irritate the heck out of people. "A" for overall design and build quality and "C- / D+" for over designing the software and user experience.

    There are so many things I love about the nest thermostat - it's so, so close to being perfect... but one thing I can't wrap my head around is why they do not have some type of 'temporary hold' feature for the inevitable occasions where you do not want to use auto-schedule. Just a temporary 'hold' option to bypass auto-schedule - problem solved. It's maddening! I feel like I'm fighting with the nest for control of the house when I want to do a hold - it just seems so silly to not have an override feature.

    finally, I loved coming home and having the thermostat think that 84 •F is fine when I set it to 70
    it felt like every time I went out of my way to wave my hand in front of it or walk past it, I caught it with its pants down "oh snap! was I supposed to be doing my job?" just about went out and bought a cheap one so it would actually maintain a temp

    Why do they make this so complicated? Have to turn off the auto learning from 2 places on the thermostat, off from my app, and off from any other household member's app too! Ugh.

    I love how others think the entire reason for having one of these thermostats is the dumbest feature. Now trying to figure out how to set up a schedule like those simple programmable thermostats

    For the longest time I assumed my wife was constantly getting up to change it in the middle of the night, lol. Horrible feature. I hate it when engineers try to outsmart the people using their products

    Thank you so much! This was so annoying. It’s so hot and it keeps turning down to 72 when I like to keep it at 75 when it’s this hot.

    Mine comes on automatically and it sets a/c to 63 or if the heat comes on automatically it is at 78! Will me following your instructions stop this?

    I’ve been having to wake up in the middle of the night for the past 4 months to turn off the nest because it drops to 68 degrees. I guess the nest thinks I’m a penguin

    Why do we need to reset it though? Can’t we skip the reset step and go directly into nest sense menu and select off?

    Can reset the auto scheduler on his smart thermostat. Can't change a 9V battery in his smoke detector. Lol.

    I turn mine off because increased my Electric Bill , until I came across this Video. I still haven't turned it back on until my new billing cycle is completed for this month......so I set it for 1 temp for 7 days a week at 70° not too exceed.

    Is there any way to just turn on one of two schedules without having to schedule it for the week. eg. On day heat comes on at 4am another schedule having it come on at 9am? I work a rotating schedule.
