Thanks! I started filling one smooth and I was like, what am I doing, this is taking too long and you won't even be able to see that I did anything. This way is funner. Also, I'm hoping the spoiler stays on when I get on the highway!
AOS AIRSOFT Thin sheet metal warps real easy when welding. If it was a show car, and I cared about a seamless look, then maybe i would have done it and gone really really slow, then bondo. Plus I like that "exposed rivet" look.
Hell yeah , I was laughing most of the video .Your video made my day Great work and great humor is a great combination when working on cars too . This is the first video where I've seen a metal spoiler welded to a car . I like it . I agree with you 100%. Build your car the way YOU like it and who cares what others think. I feel the same way with my cars . Keep up the great work. and keep enjoying your car and don't lose that sense of humor. Take care.
Car Sick!! I am just building my metal nascar spoiler welded to the car and getting a lot of shittalk from douchebags.Suddenly everybody is a Aerodynamic Specialist.True Fact is though that at an Angle between 55 and 60 Degrees the Nascar type spoiler produces the most Downforce at resonable Drag. You can of course go for less drag with less angle but also less Downforce but what would be the point? I eyeballed a lot today and i also dont like fiberglass.Have Fun building Shit, i certainly do.
everybody should build what they like, and not what they think everybody else would like. my inspiration comes from the last interceptor from the roadwarrior max, batman and days of thunder.so thats how my car looks like.if i want to i can go very fast on the german highway or on the nordschleife. my ca is purpose builand he purpose is fun.
been looking at do it yourself video all morning. your weird dude, but i have to say i like your presentation. and the reverse welding spark thing. bad ass. *fist bump*
Hey man congrats on selling your car. I know the feeling of not wanting to sell a project. I'm on another project now so I have a question, what did you use to wrap your steering wheel?
I used a few things. But the outer texture is cotton ribbon from the fabric store that I shellacked. I built up the thickness under that with what I can describe as vinyl piping. Our neighbor at work makes RV awnings and the edges are sewn over this piping, they throw a lot of it away. In bewtween the large piping bumps is twine. The transitions between spoke and rim were shaped out of epoxy putty, also completely covering the sharp safety wire holding the vinyl piping down. It took me a while to figure out how to make the grip thicker on the steel rim while being really tight and free of movement when you twist the grip. I tried serveral different things including PVC, garden hose, and AN hose. I have pics of the process. +pedro rivera
everyone in the coments are idiots… its a drift car… not NASCAR which means it can have a 2 foot wing or a 2cm wing it doenst matter that much cuz you wont even be racing or even travelling in a straight line… great vid. subscribed

@@CarSick You're welcome.
Excellent work bruh. Much incentive gained. Did you edit the video of you welding? I was watching the direction the sparks were going. Lol
David Heart Thans! I did edit it in reverse but overall the same direction. It took way too long lol
Nice reverse welding. Not to many people know how to use the reverse setting on a gmaw machine.
lol, it's a hidden setting you have to search for.
Some bondo and some shaping and making it have a smooth flow and that shit would look dope.
Sure, if you're into that kind of thing. race car.
Is that a blade behind your ear at the end? Hahaha! "I'm building a spoiler!" Haha!
It is! It's a pretty good spot for it, as long as you don't slip and fall onto it, cutting your head open!
Story of my life: "...I pretty much eyeball everything I do.."
It works! Ive built plenty like that.
Caleb Molenda yeaaaaaaaaaaa
add drag to a slooow car...Brilliant oB

Oh no! I'd better tell the new owner to rip it off!

I hear you about the aero experts coming out of the woodworks. It's like, this is a street car man, I rarely go over 100 mph.
