Good go see other people going this route. When we did ours it got a lot of backlash, but then the video has remained our top video every year for a month 😂
I like expensive and nice shit, but I absolutely love clever and creative ways to achieve a desired result on a budget. Anyone that has hate for this is just mad because they spent all summer delivering pizzas so they can save up for a rocket bunny kit that turned out to be a fake.
I want to see someone transplant an entire roof and interior from a 2006 GMC suburbon onto one of these with the tv and every thing lol this looks really good by the way. Great job. When I had my bmw e46, I made a huge front lip on my 330i from a similiar plastic from the garden section lol. That was 15 years ago lol this makes me so happy. best video ever.
Hopefully you make sure you tell people not to stop on the skits to get in the truck those will snap easily. But damn that looks Soo good. Man. Not a bad bet, might have to try this on my gmt800 Escalade
Well that's given me flashbacks. :D Back when I had my Lexus IS200 (A "Sport", with factory fitted "Aero", and "Navigator" packs no less ! 😎 🤣) I wanted a cheap sacrificial splitter for the front bumper, but I couldn't find any sheets of thick black PVC for an acceptable price, so I bought a length of black 6" waste pipe. I split it, put it on a sheet of OSB and pointed a torpedo heater at it for 20 minutes to soften it right up. I then just unrolled it and let it cool. The beauty of using a tube was that I didn't need to split it in a straight line. I cut a large curve in it that almost went all the way round at the middle, so when unrolled it turned into a large flat arc (sort of banana shaped). Because the front bumper on that had a raised section in the middle I then put the sheet of PVC back on the OSB board with another piece of wood of the right width and height to create this bit, and torpedo heatered it again until it sagged to the right shape. Once shaped I screwed it to the underside of the bumper, trimmed it to follow 1.5" out from it's lower edge, and sanded it smooth. To finish it I just wrapped the top (and around the outer edge) with some glossy black car body wrap film I had stuffed on a shelf. It looked quite presentable, and fulfilled its purpose perfectly well (Which was to nudge high curbs when using "Nose in" on road parking before the paint on my bumper could).
As an upgrade you could drill out holes where self tapping screws are then por 15 them then use plastic push pins to make it removable and rust free. Just my thoughts otherwise looked awesome.
Looks amazing dude ! I’ve been thinking about how I was gonna do my ( ford streetka ) here in the Uk as I couldn’t find a kit so this route has definite potential I shall definitely be pursuing it …thanks for the inspiration 👍
just found your channel actually laughed at first "This should be a good one lol" but dam it turned out great got to give you some mad props keep up the good work.
Looks great 👍 it's cool seeing guys thinking outside of the box finding very affordable alternative ways to make automotive products, you'll have haters on this because they think you have to fall in line and spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on these products, back in the 1980s I used to use vinyl house siding to form ground effects for cars and guys would where I got the custom parts because they loved them and after I told them they just laughed and walked away. Why? Because I didn't pay through the ass for something? Thanks for the video
You cut a short piece off of the end for the length. I would use that short scrap to shape the cut around the flare. Once you have it perfect on the short scrap, you can trace it onto your long piece. That way you're less likely to need to go by a new long piece because you boogered it up and made it too short.
I have a question regarding the front part, is it possible if you can drop it only one inch, without having to mess with the coil overs and springs just leaving it on a stocked shock??
I don't really see a way to drop the front at all without replacing the springs. The Belltech kit comes with a lot of shims that allow you to choose your drop up front, max of 3". You may be able to buy just the front end parts directly from them.
I want to know where at what point wheel-well-flares went from being called what they are to being called a wide body kit. The entire body IS actually wide in a "Wide-Body-Kit", NOT JUST wheel-well-flares......?
Very inventive but, I bought side skirts that are moulded to fit and cheeper, not the best quality I admit but are gutter’s better quality??? Nah ! As I said , very inventive indeed and they look ok 👍🏽
@@BarelyBuiltRight you done the flare cut measurements the hard way, when u already had the perfect tool for it 😅 your contour gauge 😅😂 sorta thing I do then realise afterwards lol nice work bud

Actually looks damn good. Youve got the stance looking perfect.
NGL, it turned out pretty nice!
Did this 12 years ago to my rusted integra da9 rocker panels. I used rivets and it Looked good.
I’m mean obviously it looks good compared to what you were looking at before 😂 doesn’t take much
For a diy it looks great. You've definitely given me some new ideas for myself. Thanks for sharing.
I did it on my trailblazer like I said. Came out freaking awesome! All credit goes to you for the great idea and video . Thanx bro 🙏
That's sick!! Love comments like these! Glad it worked out!
Looks better than the kiddy pool “wide body kits” I see everywhere.
I love your self tapping screws to aid with rust
Not here in Florida! But up north, yes
@@BarelyBuiltRight i would never do that here in pennsylvania where your brand new truck rusts out in 2 years
Who would have known, looks factory, hats off to you.
Landscape edging works as a great lower valance. Leaf guards grills and vents but never used gutters. Sweet!
I did this with my Honda civic last 2019 (COVID HUH?) but I fiberglass it and it's still very much intact now I repainted it that's why I'm here. 👍
Excellent result bro, I would probably ditch the aero canards at the front wheels, but this kinda stuff is right up my alley!
Not my thing but damn that’s creative and it looks good.. 👍🏾
Hopefully you make sure you tell people not to stop on the skits to get in the truck those will snap easily. But damn that looks Soo good. Man. Not a bad bet, might have to try this on my gmt800 Escalade
Great resale feature!
Haha its actually already been traded in. They didn't notice the screw holes or the ground-down a-pillars from the "wide body" 😂😂
Great work 👍 these sideskirts looks really good on your truck!
Thanks! Appreciate your view
Great job looks awesome. Been looking for a skirt for my car. No luck and this option looking real promising.
Awesome handcraft. Greetings from Germany. If I do this here, the cops will pick me up and rip off my plates.
Thanks for watching! I've heard some European countries are very strict about modification 😩
That looks pretty clean great job 👍
Looks good. Definitely following the build!
Thanks for the support!
This is great! Ill try it on my trailblazer ss 🙌🙏 thanx for sharing your creativity bro
Really good job on such a very small amount of money. This has inspired me to create similar for my Vauxhall Frontera in the UK.
Thanks so much! Glad to provide some inspiration! Cheers
Brilliant idea and it looks great.
Thanks Jason!
Ignore all the haters that looks dope

Reinforce it with a fiberglass to make it more stiffer
Use the gutter for a mold and make them out of fiberglass ❤
@TroyCooperVegas that's what my sister-in-law said to me last night.
Looks sick dude!
Nice Work!!!! Never thought of that!!!! Brilliant!!!!
Thanks!
Saved a bunch of money and it looks good too
Awesome idea keep up the good. The trucks looking great!!
the orange peel matches the sidewalls of the tires perfectly
I was going for that 😂

Neat. You have quite an imagination my man. Looks great
Thanks! Although I will admit I saw someone else do it before me
I did this in 1986 on a '79 toyota Corolla... WOW!!
Came out great...

Thanks for great idea

Haha I did this on my Honda Odyssey 5 years ago, awesome
Heck yeah! Appreciate it!
You forgot to install the downspout..
😅
🤣
Or the kick out lmao
😀
😂😂😂😂😂
I did this back in the '80's on my Opel Manta. People though I bought a high dollar skirt kit for it. Paid less than $10.00.
Did this on a bunch of Datsun 510s back in the 80s.
Good Idea ❤
Oh wow that look really nice 👍
💯 % costume
Appreciate it! And saved a few bucks too 😉
Great idea. Im a little concerned with rust from the self tapping screws😮
If you live up north, you might want to pick different fasteners. Not so much an issue here in Florida, but you are correct! Thanks for your view!
@@BarelyBuiltRight I live in the tropic. Rust is always an issue.

😅 its traded in now so nothing else matters lol
Broo... Fantaskit... 👍👍👍👍🥰
Thanks!
Brilliant
I have rust at the bottom of my door on the body side can I use the same idea the shape has a slight angle
Possibly! Mess around with the location of each skirt and you might be able to hide some of it. Make sure you have enough metal to hold the skirts on
looks amazing, how does it hold up to children and big guys? does it crack easily?
Thanks! Its definitely not a step. More so for looks. Takes kicks and such just fine though
This was done b4 on a crown Vic if done right it will look good

Just dont hit anything with them 😂

actually looks really fuckin dope
What of other passenger mistake it for a stepboard?
Use Rivet nuts as well as nuts and bolts when ever fastening something to your vehicle, lest you give yourself a flat tire.
And that's top of mind
How did it hold up?
Rust joint the chat
Florida babyyyy. But yes, a corrosion coating would help in northern climates.

It may be a stupid idea but I was thinking using spray foam to fill in the void behind to stiffen it up and would be light weight as well. 🤷🏻♂️
i was thinking the same
Lol my kind of shenanigans 😅

cool
I want to know where at what point wheel-well-flares went from being called what they are to being called a wide body kit. The entire body IS actually wide in a "Wide-Body-Kit", NOT JUST wheel-well-flares......?

People use to make fun of me back in 2000s for using rain gutter on my Honda Civic side skirts. Lol look at um now
have you noticed an increase or decrease in mpg
I haven't filled the tank since I put them on.
Hey, why not? Now when it rains, the tires will stay dry, really inovative, economical and safer.

I’m very confused as to why you didn’t use that contour guage tool you had in the beginning, to shape those flares??? Instead you chose to guess?
