- This is how to mold a duckbill spoiler yourself on pretty much any car! This is an FRS/BRZ/86 leg sport style spoiler I got for around $100 on amazon(link below). Highly encourage you to give it a shot if you are debating on doing this. Its not bad at all, and if I can do it, so can you!

Not here to talk shit...but you might want to invest time in taping and covering the rest of your car so u don’t get overspray or any kind of debris

or remove the trunk if ur too lazy to cover up your car for over-sprays, you have the garage anyways park the car inside while you have the trunk off.
He said he was getting it repainted so thats probably why he didn't care about overspray
Jaye A.S. Even then, overspray on windows, taillights... dude was sanding and spraying primer while the trunk was open, everything flying into the interior. It’s his car ultimately I could careless what happens to it. Still cringe af tho lol. Done watching.

Disclaimer this is not the correct way to do this but still good to see someone willing to give it a go with the tools and knowledge they have if your happy then its a job well done regardless of how long it lasts

@@rob.x5479yea planning to do this similar thing with my son lexus. I thought bondo would crack due to heavy use of slamming the trunk. I’m looking to see what people have done. I was thinking fiberglass and adding stronger shock for the trunk to reduce the slam.
Mold your car into what ever you want no matter what others talk shit about it...i like your style.subbed.
For the line, use small masking tape, sand one the top first, run the tape on the line how you want it then sand the side. The body filler will take the shape of the tape/line.
Putty isnt good, use fine filler, can primer isnt good as well, leaves a lot of holes and overall just isnt good in general (we use them for spot primer and stopped) buy a quart primer, mix it with your hardener and reducer. My favorite primer is from Automotive Art express 7-60 primer because it acts as a filler.
The body fill will crack after a while since it doesnt have a base. Use fiber glass, then put a thin coat filler.
Please mask off areas on your car so over spray doesn't catch it and use a block to sand down the filler, using your hands will cause lines/waves

Should of used a fiberglass reinforced or fiberglass itself for first layer or two before bondo. Bondo if too thick will crack and all that work you did goes to waste....and lord invest in some Scott blue tape and cheap drop cloths to mask off car...even if getting respray....

Reinforced fiberglass will not sand correctly and is terrible for what he did in this video. The coats he put on are thin enough to not crack anytime soon. We're not filling up a gaping rust hole here. And why use blue tape when it's getting resprayed entirely lol? literally a waste of time
What he needs is smc bond & fill before the bondo because straight bondo would crack

eventually they all do no matter how well you do it... you want to widebody something correctly? you have to use sheet metal nothing else will do it
Attempting to mold my hood scoop into my hood and then eventually my widebody. This helps out a ton

You're brave. I Just wrapped my whole trunk/duckbill in carbon fiber vinyl to get the molded look.
reminds me of that new aston martin vantage rear end, minus the tail lights don't run all the way thru on yours but the shape is similar , AAA+

This is my first time wat thing your videos. I love it man its badass that you do all this stuff on your own... but you should try and properly cleaning before priming and painting. The whole prepping before paint is important. Either way I love your videos man. Definetly a like and subscribe from me.

You should’ve clamped it down I just mounted mine on my e39 clamped it overnight but pushed down on the wing before clamping! I had body panel adhesive literally coming out of the edges and now my shit is stuck on there. About to use bondo glass too instead of bondo

@@projectaj7427 It does suck but both my parents came from poor families, both my dads parents have passed away recently and left zero estate because they had nothing, however my dad now makes over $300K a year and my mom has officially retired, so it's not that they're poor it's just they were raised to not be given anything and I guess that translated to their parenting despite us being wealthy. I do get support from them, just not freebies.

You can't just use bondo or regular metal filler. ABS plastic expand and contracts up to 10%, so it will crack the filler when the weather changes.
