I started on a 390 and now also have a V4 800. Strictly engine, the 800 always just accelerates till about 260kms. The gearing is also longer and displacement bigger, so I decide what gear to be in..
Ofcourse your refering to racebikes, so those will be different. More extreme? Torque varies.

Great Video Thx for it , the focus here seems to be on newer bikes with huge power numbers most people don't need on the street to get to Grandma's in a hurry , almost any litre bike or above built from like 1980 in japan are very reliable an go faster than you want to try to duck under a moose on , hard to fault a busa for a single guy to take a road trip on really .

I personally like my bikes with a lot of electronic aids, with the understanding that such electronics make the bike considerably less reliable but far safer. Insurance companies, who presumably keep detailed statistics on this type of stuff, give you insane discounts if you have ABS. So while older bikes from before circa 2016 can be reliable, they're also quite difficult and dangerous to ride.

Original Aprilia/Rotax v990 60° Vtwin. Owned 3. Currently have a 2001 rsvr track bike with 22,000 miles. Valves never needed adjusted on the 2 street bikes. Sold those 2 street bikes with over 70,000 miles. Not as powerful as a modern liter bike but I've never been enamored with 200 horsepower specs anyways. Similar reliability to the suzuki sv650. I had a Vstrom 650 with 67,000 when I sold it. The notes from all valve checks showed it never needed a shim from the previous owner.

The Panigale / Streetfighter V4 engines have water pump seal failures every (avg.) 7000mi. Not Reliable, and too big of a cost to formally place a recall. I’m on my third water pump (under warranty) on my ‘22.

Do not get a 2008 and 2009 cbr1000rr as the plating on the walls did not hold up in those years and causes it to burn oil that, if left unchecked, can cause oil starvation and explode.

Pro tip: You don't ask the wife about stuff like that. You just go out and do it. Don't tell her, and let her find out on her own months later when she can be bothered looking.

Do all bikes shift the same or is that something to consider when checking out a potential bike for the future?

    • @jared123123
      @jared123123 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

What do you mean? All bikes unless they are the odd DCT like a goldwing will basically have the same manual transmission, 6 speed. 1 down , 5 up typical shift pattern.
You can get GP shift kits which I personally think feels much better which just reverses the shifting, so 1 up , 5 down .
So essentially , yes . They are majority all the same

Hey im in uk and am thinking of getting one of the 350 enfields as a first bike when i actually have money. Would you reccomend this or should i try to find another? Do i just get a low capacity sporter just for more reliability?
-I like the look of the meteor,
-Dont care for speed theres a track 15 min from my home(want atleast motorway speed),
-I lke the meteor but dont want a cruiser, just something old looking but not old if that makes sense.

    • @wcjos5516

There is no recommendation without knowing the driver.
Measures of driver should fit to the bike for safe handling and comfort.
Always wear protective clothing. The first motorcycle should not be too heavy. Always get on and off the bike with the side stand extended. If you accidentally drop your motorcycle, it is not amusing. Over and beyond, a lot is a matter of taste.
