What do you mean by a “safer alternative to fluoride” in toothpaste? I’ve always been under the impression that fluoride is incredibly important in dental care?
I was quite surprised I could only find tooth tabs with no fluoride unpackaged in my area, until I walked into a handmade zero waste toileteries shop I had never been too. I asked if the tooth tabs have fluoride and the owner replied "yes, because I consulted a dentist when designing them and he insisted that they should always contain fluoride. Hence, I refuse to sell fluoride free tooth tablets". I have full trust in that shop now, I could tell he cares more about health and safety than the whole "natural" marketing

The right amount of fluoride is incredibly important for dental care! It can cause dental issues if over consumed though, which is highly unlike unless people swallow their toothpaste... Not sure why it would be considered unsafe?
From what I've read if you don't have fluoride for a prolonged period of time your teeth can turn black. I personally alway get fluoride in my toothpaste tabs

I bought Zao eyeliner, it’s a French brand so it might not be sustainable from an emissions pov but it’s the only liquid eyeliner I could find with a felt tip and a really great formula. I tried 100% Pure but it flaked off after a while and had a brush tip. Anyway the Zao one has a bamboo case with a recyclable refillable ink pot, so if you decide you like it it may be worth it to buy lots of refills, like I plan to do when I use mine up (and I’ve had it for almost a year)!

@@9melissal My chem professor told me that the FDA does allow flouride in tabs but I've seen tabs with flouride on them too. In my personal opinion for earrings, I opt to wear surgical steel barbell body jewelry in either a 20 gauge, 18 gauge or my most common- 16 gauge. The best part of wearing barbell earrings is that to change up the look, I only have to change out the ball section of the barbells. Plus, allergies to surgical steel is quite uncommon as surgical steel for jewelry is made out of the same quality of surgical steel as instruments used for surgical procedures. This means that the pricing of the jewelry is quite affordable while the jewelry is nearly indestructible by any means other than melting the jewelry down. Another bonus of this type of jewelry (classified as "body jewelry") is that through how they are made means that the chances of it catching the items on hair, face masks or clothing is quite close to zero if at all.
My favorite eco friendly mascaras that I’ve tried would probably be Pacifica’s newest vegan collagen mascara that comes in a glass tube!! It seems like them as a company have started coming out with a lot more sustainable packaging as well. Otherwise Target has 2 new brands called PYT, where all the packaging is either recyclable and/or made of recycled materials, (tried their mascara & it’s also great!) along with Billion Dollar Beauty, who sell single pan products, & they even have their own magnetic palette! I use their brow pomade & some of their eyeshadows, & I love all of them. :)
Also, a brand that I haven’t tried myself but am kind of interested in: MOB beauty! They seem fairly new, but it’s all refillable products & such. Otherwise I use & enjoy Elate for concealer, & Kjaer Weis for my cream blush/highlight & powder bronzer :)

as a mexican american who also lives in a border town on the mexican side hehe i kinda have some knowledge on zero/low waste brands if anyone is ever in some part of mexico this summer or something as in looking for more sustainable options when it comes to beauty lol 🇲🇽as for makeup brands, there’s teia cosmeticos which is my absolute favorite, there’s amparo lopez organic beauty which is similar to elate cosmetics, there’s rely cosmética natural whose packaging comes in cardboard/paper, there’s pai pai which is super popular, there’s xamania, there’s ahal, there’s konê care, and then there’s ere perez which is more internationally known i would say and i absolutely love their concealer💄 as for skin/body/hair care, there’s esenciel cosmetica which is the brand I’ve been using for about 3-4 years now, there’s indra ecosmetica which is like super popular and is runner up next to lush mx, there’s somos tierra, there’s amai natural which is also sold in the states, and there’s abeja reyna which are refillable but their products do contain honey tho🍯 obviously there’s so much more but these are just some brands i thought would be nice to mention🥰✨love your channel christie! i’ve been watching you ever since i started my low waste journey and i love your content🤗💕

THANK YOU! So incredibly grateful for you! Big hugs! 💛xo
I have very thick and dry hair so a conditioner bar lasts maybe 3-4 uses and that is not worth the money... And I find it really hard to wash them out...
Hello! Do you have an up-to-date video of all of the face products that you are currently using? (Versus one like this were you update us on just changes that have been made :D )
Hi! I don't, but I should make one soon! My most recent one is pretty up to date (I think it went live in 2019, and is titled "My Skin Care Routine & How I Cleared my Acne Without Fancy Products | minimalist & low waste" if that helps find it!). The original video focuses more on the habits I do outside of products that keep my skin clear, etc. And those are all still the most important part of my routine! Not products, but I should totally make an updated product video too. Thanks for the suggestion!! Big hugs! xo 💛
I don't know of any that specify in it but I was told that those formulated with NaH are good for people with sensitive teeth. Bite's new formula definitely includes it, but that's all I know of right now. I'll look into it some more! 💛
I'm curious if you've heard much about the brand Izzy Beauty Inc and their zero waste mascara, just heard about it myself. I use zerra and co's eye liner and it's pretty cool. I layer it twice to get it nice and black. I'm also curious if you've heard stuff about nudi goods' cake mascara! I've wanted to try cake mascara but I'm also nervous haha
I will wear recycled poly leggings, and Prana's have pockets which I definitely want pockets, AND they don't give me camel toe at all! But on top I really only want to do natural fibers like organic cotton, rayon, and tencel because synthetics tend to really hold odor. I sweat a lot! I do find that I have to wash my workout leggings almost every time I wear them because they stink really quickly (same problem, synthetics hold odor), so I really want to try some merino wool or organic cotton leggings next. I would have gotten some from Pact but they didn't have a high waist, which I'm finding that middle rise waists just don't look great on me anymore. I have squish even if there is muscle underneath. 😅 There are a million leggings in the world but only a few companies that meet my many needs.....
I use a bamboo toothbrush by Brush With Bamboo! They're the OG bamboo toothbrush company, family owned and run, and they source everything sustainably! Definitely recommend! 💛
@@SedonaChristina you are so welcome. You are really cool and I want to see you succeed in this. If, and only if, that's something that you still want to do.
What do you all guys think about a sustainable skincare product which is totally organic? can it hit the current market? will there be enough potential buyers? would really appreciate your comments on this ?
Um .. I'm quite sure you can't lie about gold or silver being 'real' cause of the number of constallation. Silver mostly has 925 stamped and gold 333 or 585 (the most common). I never had issues with that cause I always (if not in the discription) asked for pictures of these numbers. I think its the safest thing to buy second hand since these have rules. Not like clothes that change messurement from brand to brand
Yes! Sadly though, it's less my content I have a problem with (tbh I was never the most consistent lol so there wasn't much) but more so the people I learned from first, before I educated myself on the intersectionality of environmentalism. When being "zero waste" and "clean beauty" were the hot terms on the block and the only solution. I did a whole video about it late last year. Hope that clarifies! xo 💛
“If fluoride is you thing”. You mean “if you follow the scientific consensus on proper oral hygiene and believe your dentist over some random ‘healthy natural detox’ blogger”?

I review a lot of low impact and sustainable zero waste makeup and beauty on my channel and I would love it if you would check it out!
Walmart in canada has hello tooth tabs. I love them but with they had refill packages instead of buying the tin over and over. only so many ways to repurpose them.
as a mexican american who also lives in a border town on the mexican side hehe i kinda have some knowledge on zero/low waste brands if anyone is ever in some part of mexico this summer or something as in looking for more sustainable options when it comes to beauty lol 🇲🇽as for makeup brands, there’s teia cosmeticos which is my absolute favorite, there’s amparo lopez organic beauty which is similar to elate cosmetics, there’s rely cosmética natural whose packaging comes in cardboard/paper, there’s pai pai which is super popular, there’s xamania, there’s ahal, there’s konê care, and then there’s ere perez which is more internationally known i would say and i absolutely love their concealer💄 as for skin/body/hair care, there’s esenciel cosmetica which is the brand I’ve been using for about 3-4 years now, there’s indra ecosmetica which is like super popular and is runner up next to lush mx, there’s somos tierra, there’s amai natural which is also sold in the states, and there’s abeja reyna which are refillable but their products do contain honey tho🍯 obviously there’s so much more but these are just some brands i thought would be nice to mention🥰✨love your channel christie! i’ve been watching you ever since i started my low waste journey and i love your content🤗💕
This is SO SO HELPFUL!! Thank you for sharing!! For me and for anyone else watching!
I'll be spending a lot of time in Mexico over the next few years [hoping to visit some family members who live down there as much as we can when we (fingers crossed) do van life] I'm making sure to write all of these down for when I need something! THANK YOU! So incredibly grateful for you! Big hugs! 💛xo
@@SedonaChristina aww yayy I’m sooo glad you found it helpful☺️✨love you cristie!🤗💕
loved this video 🥰🥰
I have very thick and dry hair so a conditioner bar lasts maybe 3-4 uses and that is not worth the money... And I find it really hard to wash them out...
Great video! Such helpful info. 👍🏻❤️
100% pure sells great makeup

Big hugs! xo 💛
@@SedonaChristina Perfect, thank you! I am going to go and watch that one tonight :D thank you for the wonderful content
I have sensitive teeth, can you get toothpaste tabs as good as sensodyne?
Does anyone have sustainable/vegan perfume recommendation?
Pacifica
lush
dossier !! it’s super affordable and vegan!!
Ralph Lauren Polo Earth i’d a sustainable perfume and it’s AWESOME. I review it on my channel!
Do you still use the bar none conditioner bar? Is that one still your favorite?
I like bar none shampoo/conditioner in aluminum bottles.
What kind of tooth brush do you use?
I use a bamboo toothbrush by Brush With Bamboo! They're the OG bamboo toothbrush company, family owned and run, and they source everything sustainably! Definitely recommend! 💛
@@SedonaChristina okay I actually use that one as well lol! 😅
Leaving a comment for the algorithm
wow THANK YOU!!!! Big big hugs 🥰
Can you do your hair care?
I recently posted it last summer and nothing has changed. If you search my channel for my hair care routine it should pop up 💛
I'm definitely still on the journey to low waste. I just can't pay $15 for toothpaste or shampoo. :(
There are some great cheap options, too, target has a lot of accessible options right now
Check out Hey Humans at Target. It’s not a small company, but everything is around $5
Zerra&CO is a low waste cosmetic brand
The not whole hoop struggle is real! #ifeelit :)
RIGHT!! It's such a struggle! I don't know why people even design them at this point haha 😹
♥️

Have you unlisted past videos that aren't sustainable or you no longer agree with?
Hope that clarifies! xo 💛
Absolutely! Those videos were of a time for sure. I just thought the harmful DIYs etc would be dangerous to leave up. I loved this video.
Im looking forward to.makeup videos

“If fluoride is you thing”. You mean “if you follow the scientific consensus on proper oral hygiene and believe your dentist over some random ‘healthy natural detox’ blogger”?
Thank you, very inspiring! I‘m actually trying to live a zero waste life in my camper - not easy, but I‘m „on the road“. Greetings from camper unterwegs 🚐
I totally feel ya on that! We'll be moving into an apartment (probably) for the next year and then indefinitely hitting the road so I'm already feeling the minimizing/on-the-go struggles. It's a wild one, but we do what we can, right! Big hugs!! 💛 xo
