Speaking from my experience playing on a similar server, it really is incredible how the relations between tribes and how they are seen are a model of countries in the real world today. Amazing how you would think pvp would be a brutal every man for himself all out war all the time situation, but actually keeping up a military is expensive and inconvenient, you'd rather not be focussing all your efforts into reinforcing, spying and hiding, you'd rather be working on building up your economy peacefully. People form these NATO-esque alliances to stomp out unpredictable and aggressive tribes, because people benefit more from peaceful trading relationships.
Yep... it's quite curious. I tested today Scorched Earth and I built my base on a mountain, rich in metal, yet the wood is... meh. I made a trade now with another tribe who lives in an area with alot of wood. It's interisting, even more when the caravan arrives XD

For all of the crying 12 year olds, here is the answers to a lot of questions.
Gamma doesn't work on all servers.
He is getting angry because the enemy tribe was hiding the fact that they were hostile.
His shooting wasn't that good because he was most likely shaking from the adrenaline.
Picking is not the only kind of pvp in ark

Adrian Arias there's a gamma on 163 he trapped me in his water boat got me to basically walk the plank unfortunately he left a storage open, so I took it with me showering the ocean with gifts lol

Don't forget he was solo and had the biggest tribe against him. if u watched the video he said they treated new tribes like crap. also he wasn't being immature talking in chat. I would do the same so people know not mess with me. it's called strategy guys. if u want 2 survive u have to make people think your strong even if they can take you out. in this case from what it looks like nooblets is alpha on this server considering the biggest tribe couldn't take him out

It is probably not as friendly anymore. Servers change over time as people join and leave. Best way to know is just testing out multiple servers.
Join a PvE server if you want friendly gameplay without raids

I used google translate to get most of it. mostly chatter you would expect from those believing you will never find out what they are saying unless you knew the language. too bad they were recorded.
for example, ate the end of the video , Switchu (Legion) was saying if they wanted help against Tetris for jabbing a knife in there back and helping.
SoV kat said no, its our war not yours. fallowed by them saying they already know where there dinos are.
again, this is google translate, a few words could not be translated so i guessed the dinos since other spellings made animals, the beast, and such.
At the end SoV actualy said that they got disconnected out of the server but only them and they say that they got destroied and lost only cuz that.
Seeing that they wrote that in polish they maybe legit on that.
Also Legion didnt help them cuz they didnt have any chance but that was before Tetris and others helped and they were confused later on.

Best gaming of my life - ark before titan/redwoods, no transfers. simple times with good friends...those days in a server that was constantly between 40and 70 players was SO much fun. everyone knew each other
In my opinion server transfers ruined Ark. I remember everyone on my first server, got to know some of them IRL, and every tribe was know for different things.

Aaaah, I also have a story I would love to share. Once there was a tribe, Sacro Imperio who started with two members. Those Two members managed to survive the hostile enviroment and the raiders that scurched from the forest and coast. But one day, their little hut was attacked by a wild ArgentAvis so they were forced to move, and so they did.
Their Journey took them deeper in the jungle and there they found it, a lake with Beavers who brought them Materials and ruins for culture. Life seemed peacfull and Sacro Imperio could expand. But one day, they got raided, but not caring too much on it, they gathered material again and where as they were before. But one day, another tribe "Las pesadas" found the "Oasis" of Sacro Imperio and so they turned jealous and menaced Sacro Imperio to leave the land, yet they didn't do. And so a war escalated and Sacro Imperio however focused more on their defenses, a fatal decision. The enemy developed enough explosive to destroy all the belonging of Sacro.
They were forced to flee, but not before Killing atleast the Dinos of Pesadas. They sailed to another Island, recovered, made out of the Island an Utopia of resources and a safe space for new ones to grow. They conquered it, but Pesadas found their base and menaced them to leave the session, but this time Sacro Imperio Gathered their materials, fortified their 5 Walls and pikes and prepared to defend. The battle was bloody and many found their end, but lastly the battle was won by Sacro Imperio.
They recovered, but they felt the menace of Pesadas on the other Island so they scouted, and their base was really terryfing, but free from Dinos, so this was the chance of Sacro Imperio. They wanted revenge so they loaded severak of their Dinos on a Boat and others claimed Pteras and landed on the mountain of the back of las Pesadas. Two charged the front door of las pesadas, while they defended while the other two started to make havok rain upon the base of Las Pesadas and destroyed their walls. The pleedings of Las Pesadas were many, but Sacro Imperio didn't care anymore, they wanted it, they sought it, and they got it. At the end, Sacro Imperio won the war, rebuild their Island and expanded to another Island , sadly confronting so another tribe with high number of members who "pretended" to be friendly.
But this, is a tale for another day.

sometimes i go back to these videos and it makes me wonder what changed to make pvp 10x worse like it is now, this looks way more fun than normal pvp today
that's funny. the black tribe came to our server and tried to do the same thing. they soon found out that they had no chance. we blocked the obelisks to keep them from transferring their stuff, then we wiped them.
H8 ME 1 question why the obelisks are important when we can transfer trough airdrops?
They didn't know that at the time. Now you will have to block all drops

You have been playing ARK long before I even contemplated playing - nay, before I even knew of the game. Watching this video is not unlike learning a piece of history and taking pride in what my forefather's have done in the name of freedom and peace (across the ARK).
You and your friends did a brilliant job of destroying those asswipes - I was SO happy to hear when that bronto finally went down!

I dont miss a lot of things growing up, middle school being the least of them. But I do miss when Ark was like this.
I couldn't actually play it at the time with my awful laptop at the time, but watching videos (especially yours) really made my day when school was just shitty.

Am I the only one who starts shaking a bit and it becomes difficult to use my hands when it starts going down in PvP? Like shooting and everything just instantly becomes that much more annoying

The best PVP'ers are the one's who don't need to trash talk other players, even if they deserve it. They let their pvp talk for them. I watched the base tour before this video as advised and it's a great design. Well done there.

I actually think I met that one guy from Legion 2 days ago on a local server. Anyways I should stay away from these servers. anyone remember when taming a giga meant almost certain wipe from the alpha tribe? didn't matter if it was lvl 4 or 120, having a giga was HUGE with 1200 base dmg, having a giga was a sign of aggression ahaha
I very much remember too seeing gigas just slaughter others including me but I was never able to tame one back then. So I never knew their base stats when first came out. Apart from the absurd damage but that was it. So my question to you is if you remembered the giga’s stats when they first came out?
thank you nooblets for putting them in their place, I had to deal with the son of valhalla on a unofficial server, we were just staring off and they'd raid us every time we'd log out, keeping us from building our base as almost all of the work we put into our base had to go into rebuilding and taming new dinos.

+Sebastian “Fatal Gravity” Roll I built the house and inside dino pen from stone, then converted it to metal over time. get 3 120 kibble birds and a ankylo to farm the metal from the mountain, then take it back with your birds that have been speced into carry weight
Interesting. Did you ever get raided at all pre metal? Or did you manage to build all the way up to metal unnoticed? I'm guessing the trick to not being raided is to not let anybody know you exist, and you seemed pretty serious about not being known. Also, I don't think the argents can carry ankylo. How did you transport the ankylo with the birds?

If you put a base in the forest which is a very good idea like he has done you do t have to worry about people finding you. Use dyes to your advantage, such as dyeing it green if in the forest. Building on beaches is by far the worst idea ever because of how easy it is to get spotted. Ark is all about strategy. He probably knew someone with a quetzal for the anky. He used very high level birds with all levels into weight for getting metal.
Why didn't you lower your graphics during the initial attack. It seems you underperformed with the ptera because of FPS dropping with as that's going on.

isn't gamma banned on pvp servers
some servers it is. it's up to the admins if they want it on or off
most admins don't turn it off, the one I'm in now they have it turned off. It's just an option when setting up your server.
if it's an official server there isn't an admin, that I know of. I'm talking about unofficial. and at least on PC the admins have flags next to their names in chat
