Van Morrison has more God-given talent in his toes than the entire "Bruce" could never come close to in music! The dude lucked-out as American draftees fleeing to Canada became beacons of "acceptable behavior" for lowly draft dodgers. 'Born in the USA' but from the land of the Lost.
Van lived in America during the Vietnam era, but never had to worry about being drafted. So you're gonna dis Bruce because he didn't go to Nam. I don't recall Bruce ever going to Canada to avoid the Draft. "Born In the USA" was about a brother going to Nam. not the singer.
I stayed with Van.. in Woodstock.. he knew I knew Bob.. and wanted to meet him.. but Bob did NOT want to meet him! Something was mentally wrong with him.. odd?? Bruce is RIGHT! (I knew them ALL) Roland Mousaa
In 1973 I got to chat with Van as he was leaving The Spectrum, after a show. I mentioned Bruce, who was rather unknown to most people at that time. I asked Van is he had heard any of Bruce's music. "Yeah, I have heard a few of his songs," Van replied. "His stuff reminds me of your music," I returned. Van got rather huffy and said, "His music doesn't sound like my music." A few years later Van is whining about all the other music arts that have "stolen" from him including Bruce Springsteen. Funny how he wouldn't admit any connection when I brought it up, but he complains, later, that Bruce was ripping him off musically. Make up you mind, Van, you can't have it both ways.
Van Morrison is an artist who digs deep into the soul in order to deliver...Its not a very nice place in there as any real singer can tell you. Springsteen was a pop star who had nothing whatsoever in common with Van Morrison, musically or personally. Would anyone really care if Bruno Mars thought Miles Davis was an ass?
The thumbnail photo accompanying this video makes both Springsteen and Morrison look like Galapagos turtles, which is a shame because I quite admire Galapagos turtles.
I hate this video. There is no mention of what Bruce actually said about Van. There are more and more of this sort of video on here - no original material or thoughts, just some dude rehashing old ideas and trying to sound important, with photos that probably break copyright. This video is shit.
So? Van Morrison is the only one who gets a sax player. Mark Lindsay played sax with Paul Revere and the Raiders starting in the 1950s. And Mike Love played sax with the Beach Boys . . . ok, ok . . . maybe that's not such a good example.
I never bought any of Morrison's music, but thought as a person he was quite impressive, his writing style original, he would have difficulty even spelling the word compromise, he defined the term artist and attracted the attention of giants. Springsteen on the other hand produced pop music that targeted life's less interesting of fans, his recordings seem to have been pieces, patched together from other groups material.
Van threw the first punch, a personal jab, not a thinker's analysis. It was like a jealous half-rage. How could Bruce take himself so seriously? How do you do that, Van?!
This is a complete waste of time - you're just trotting out a load of cliches about Van that everybody has said at one time or another. I can't understand why Bruce Springsteen has the following he has - I saw him at Glastonbury and was appalled at how boring he was, coming on after Crosby, Stills and Nash - Steve Stills blew him off the stage as a guitarist. Bruce has really nothing to say. Whereas Van says it all, and has been doing so for 40 years or more. Who cares whether he's grumpy? I met him once back stage in Bristol, and when he passed me in the bar I saw that in his manner there was actually an essential shyness, masked by the moody exterior. In that instant he showed a vulnerability which drew me to him even more. Van is the Man - and his music has been the theme-tune to thousands of lives, whereas Bruce will drop into irretrievable obscurity.
Sehr schlecht gemachtes Video.
This video is crap. Springsteen gave a glowing description of 'Madame George' on Desert Island Discs (UK radio), and described Morrison as 'The Maestro' when selecting 'These Are The Days' for the radio show he DJ'd. I'm sick of anti-Springsteen shit-stirers who have no interest in music.
Spunksten? Ill take Van Morrisons music anyday over Spunksteen's. Spunkstern was cool until he opened his political ideology. His Us Versus Them Ideology. I liked Springsteens music. Until he became Bruce Spunksteen with the de Nero pie hole.
@jcruisioso5975 right versus wrong? US versus them ??? Bruce S turn d into another self important arrogant limousine champagne virtue signaling know it all better loud mouth drongo......talking.... sht...about other people......a lot of other people....
Well, what the hell did Springsteen SAY??
Exactly, nothing about his comments, but the same old song and dance about Van Morrison.
Love Van Morrison and he’s right about the government and we know Bruce is completely confused politically.
Bruce got a whiff of Obama’s undies and fell head over heels in love.

I concur

@@harvey1954 Oh.
Did the video mention what Springsteen said? Love to know and where?
Van is one of the great just like Bob and Neil.
I love the 3 of them.
Van Morrison for the win
Van is a legend and Bruce is a has been.
Yikes alive , woeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Oh okay, whatever you say.
I stayed with Van.. in Woodstock.. he knew I knew Bob.. and wanted to meet him.. but Bob did NOT want to meet him! Something was mentally wrong with him.. odd?? Bruce is RIGHT! (I knew them ALL) Roland Mousaa

Morrison is a hero with many for his stance on Covid ,and anyone who doesn't like Bonzo and Geldof is alright with me.
Your great van true to the muse

I loved their song, "Happy Together".
Especially in a nice cheese sauce.
When Van Morrison realizes, the person he really doesn't like is himself, it's going to be tough.💙
Yes, he's a genius. Yes, he's a pardox. It's a price we pay. Let him be.
Leave Van alone. None of your business other than his songs and music. Get a life.
Who is the guitarist at 8:36 ?
Che Guevara
Have seen both live. Springsteen higher energy show. Morrison higher quality show. Loved both.

I did not hear the Boss say anything about van.
Just a bunch of footage with a fictional narrative
Not a rock star basking in fame's warm glow???
Oh dear..😢
Somewhere I read that in 1970 or 71 Springsteen added Clemons as Sax player because Van had a Sax in His Band...
Sounds like Bruce is jealous!
Actually I always thought Springsteen was copying Bob Seger when Alto Reed started playing with him in 71. Clemons joined E street in 72

I think you should have titled your video something else.
Could care less about Bruce Screamsteen! Morrison is a better singer!
That's a matter of taste. I can't stand Morrison's singing.
Morrison is a racist. Remember that time that he shouted, “We don’t want any ni$$ers in here!”? I do.
Springsteen is a man of the working class.
@CarolineGardner-w3s I like the Lizard King, Doors rule
Genius VAN THE MANS🇮🇪 Far superior Songwriter Musician and Singer than Bruce #Levels #Reality

Both have huge egos. One of them screams the other sings.
One has integrity the other is a vaccine pushing big pharma shill
Mechanical voice

Public safety? LOL.
That damn freedom, it's overrated.
Van Morrison was the worse concert I ever attended. He could care less about his audience. Might be brilliant but a major Jerk.
I am very much a fan of the great Van Morrison. If his says someone is wrong - they are wrong. If he goes off on somebody - he is correct in doing so.
Bruce being a puppet.
Springsteen is a copy cat.
Bruce string beans isn’t relevant
Spunksten?
Ill take Van Morrisons music anyday over
Spunksteen's.
Spunkstern was cool until he opened his political ideology. His Us Versus Them
Ideology. I liked Springsteens music.
Until he became Bruce Spunksteen with the de Nero pie hole.
As time goes on, you will see how right Bruce was. Even you will be amazed how right he was. I so wish I was wrong. Smh
@jcruisioso5975 right versus wrong? US versus them ??? Bruce S turn d into another self important arrogant limousine champagne virtue signaling know it all better
loud mouth drongo......talking.... sht...about other people......a lot of other people....
De Niro ? de Nero was fiddling around while Rome burned.
Opposites. So what.
What that they both can't sing in tune?
I never liked Van Morrison, his personality , his music..all terrible. And now, after hearing about his shut down nonsense? He's reprehensible..
You’re not up to his music. Pathetic.
Love both of them even though morrison is a nasty person probably ego again but a great voice .
