Sometimes I rewatch a performance of his from years ago thinking I could watch just a part of it and click out of the video, but I could never NOT finish a song from him no matter how many times I’ve seen it before. Ever. It’s incredible.
He has SUCH a beautiful, rich singing voice...and I didn't realize 'til watching this video that he plays the guitar at the same time?! So much talent!!! (and that Irish accent amiright)
I was imagining a much angrier version of this song in my head. But he sings it with love instead and this makes the point even more so than the lyrics, and it humbles me. Such a gentle and sensual man. The dramatic looks he throws occasionally (e.g. @9:52, @10:50) work something deep in me. I think I am falling in love.
Woow this version of TMTC with the backing vocals is in an other level just incredible and ethereal and what a masterpiece 😍😍😍😍 it blows my mind ♥ Thanks for the post😊
Strange.....I'm hearing and seeing Hozier perform his own song yet, in my mind I'm 'hearing' the voice / vocals of Dolly Parton singing this very same some. I'm thinking in her younger days when she was singing more of her Appalachian songs. Does anyone else in the community agree?
"If you guys'll suffer it". Hozier I can't get enough of your beautiful voice and kind compassionate soul.
Thanking you for bringing light to my days.
Truly a master of his own voice. Hozier is one of those outstanding singers that are only born once every few generations.
Jeff Buckley!

Shrike is such a beautiful beautiful masterpiece. don't fight me.
So far...my favorite song by Hozier
How could I fight you, I totally agree! Is there anything he can't do with his voice?

That nod he gives her at 6:11 after they just nail that instrumental interlude :)

I would've thought Like Real People Do would've been more Dolly's alley. In fact I've imagined her liking that particular song.
Bluegrass has Irish/Scottish roots, hence the Appalachian vibe.
