Get in there and getter done, this has been a fun project, my first Suzuki to restore, all the others have been Yamahas. That title means a lot, if you put any time and money in them you have to be able to recoop at least sum. Bikes are only worth about half without a title. I like the 72's best, nice score.
Might I ask what kind of lathe you have and how your shop is set up? Your set up is pretty much I want when I am able! Seeing you work on old machines is exactly my goal when circumstances permit.
My lathe I purchased new about 20 years ago, its a Jet 13 inch swing 40 inch bed. The mill is a very used and mostly worn out Bridgeport. I have just got used to it so I can do pretty precise work with it. You probably noticed the small 7 inch Ammco shaper, its in nice shape but small, the small 16 inch Atlas lathe and the Hardinge TM/UM horizontal mill is probably the best piece of equipment I have. Very lucky to have found it. Other than that there is just the press, a couple different welders, an old Sunnen pin fitting hone that really does a lot of good work for me. I use it for honing motorcycle cylinders and any ID work that needs to be precise. I use the bridgeport and the lathe for boring operations, just depends on mounting requirements. Thats about it. Used is good enough for me, wished I had a larger lathe at times, but dont know where I would put it.
@@montana2strokeracer Thanks for taking the time! Much appreciated. Hoping I can eventually get some of these tools when circumstances permit. Would need a dedicated garage space or building. All in good time!
Nice Suzuki Too ! I have 72 TS 125 in pretty good shape I'm starting to restore now. Have title and bought it in 1986 for $50.00 !!
