  • There's a step recorder on your Akai Force that is somewhat hidden. You can use it to input notes and chords step by step like on a Roland SH-101, Sequential Prophet REV2 and many other synthesizers.
    Hope you like it! When you do, consider subscribing to help me grow my channel ;)

    Oh wow. I've used the list editor a lot but never realized you could step record with it! Very cool! Thank you!

      It’s an amazing feature which is indeed often overlooked. Great for melodies

    so this turns the Force into a tracker? :)

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s not as advanced as a tracker but it has similar functionality. I think a tracker is a lot quicker than the list editor. But for step recording this is great

    Thanks for your great content. If you are writting midi in 4/4 can you shift the grid to triplets to write some notes with a 6/8 feel? I read somewhere that you couldnt on the Force, true or not?

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for watching! I must confess that I only work in 4/4 so haven’t tried this. If I find something I’ll post a video. Triplets within the 4/4 are definitely possible though. If you press TC there’s a setting “triplets”.
      Me and my friends call that “Elephant Beats” lol.
      The grid itself isn’t changing. Maybe that’s what you mean?

      Yes I mean the grid. I often use a rumba clave in my beats, so its nice to shuffle part of the hat loop with triplets that cross over the 4/4 grid. Likewise with a heavy kick on a 6/8 upbeat once every 2 or 4 bars say say. I guess you could do it with swing but this would apply to everything then, just want it in a few places

    • @richardcarter521
      @richardcarter521 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh you could probably do it on a 4/4 grid if you quantized to 16th note triplets, wrote midi notes then deleted the ones you dont want and lengthened the ones you do. I dont have a Force yet, working with Mascine and Maschine Jam but the Jam is limited for live so looking at Force

    • @Expectaz
      @Expectaz  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah the Maschine Jam is getting dust here since I have the Force. As far as I know it works indeed like your last comment. If you enable note repeat and set quantization to 16th triplets you can record them with the pads or with an external midi keyboard. MPC workflow style 😁
