Hi Sven, thank you for noticing the production values of our episode...lol. I am not the first to use this technique but it's a great way of giving the viewer an all-encompassing feel of the moment. "CartCam", I love it. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.
Torrevieja Friday market is our go to( particularly the Bodega man( for me as my wife does not drink) followed by the Food Co but as the road is closed might be Carrefour now. As we are arriving late on Saturday may try Zoco or Lemon Tree markets on Sunday and possibly head south into Murcia region for our big shop if we can't wait until Monday. From the video, you are like us and try to live in Spain on the same budget as you have in the UK. As always a great quality video.
Hi Denise, yes I remember getting money back for our pop bottles and my mum used to rinse out the milk bottles and put them back on the step for the milkman to collect....how times have changed. Thanks for watching and best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.
In Barcelona last year, one Orange was about 60 p and cauliflower was around £2.50....lots is dearer than uk...soap powder...ready meals...but we don't buy those...Catalan prices highest in spain.
I appreciate that you have shown that there is so much sun in your house that you both need sunglasses. Spain is perfect country for me, living in South East Asia now. I am packing my stuff and going to Spain soon. Thank you guys, good luck!
Hi and thanks for watching. Yes, sometimes we forget we have them on. We should have taken them off, we will try and remember next time. Thanks for your comment. Best wishes Mike and Yvonne.

Hi Susanne, we don't remember, but we do tell people what area we live in "Altos del Limonar" but it is an extensive urbanisation with 100's of houses that all look the same. We are careful not to give away too much...Thanks for caring, Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.

The markets stalls are run by the local farmers who produce the really good value produce. Thanks for watching, best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.

As my local supermarket Hiperber I have always found to be good value for most things. Although they run out of fresh milk often. If you want to guarantee fresh milk always go in the morning. Hope you are both well? I missed you by two days when you came out I went back to a cold and wet uk
Hi David, hope you are well. Yes we like Hiperber, it's our local and the produce is good value. Maybe we'll catch you next time. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.
I think spain is expensive now in the supermarkets, there isn't as much choice as UK ones. Our shooping over here in UK is cheaper than Consum Mercadona etc. Althought spanish markets are good for fruit etc
Hi Bella, thanks for watching. Yes, we think the gap between the UK and Spanish supermarket prices is reducing to almost the same and sometimes more in some products. But as you say, the markets like LemonTree and Torrevieja Friday market have amazingly low fruit and veg prices. We have a video soon about the Lemon Tree Market. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.
It's a shame but here in Spain prices have risen a lot in the last 5 years. Until 2020 you could make much better purchases for the same price. I see it clearly even in small shops with cheap prices.

Thanks Mike and Yvonne for the great Torrevieja videos, I'm comparing those prices to out here in Antalya, unbelievably Turkish prices are the same as Spain now or even more, whereas a few years ago almost half price in comparison. I suppose the same can be said about Spanish shopping prices compared to UK, used to be much cheaper. take care both
Hi Youtubis, Yes, we remember Turkey supermarkets being a lot cheaper than UK. We used to go to Migros. I think the gap is closing in all the European countries. Thanks for watching, all the best Mike and Yvonne.

Hi Sean, thanks for watching. Go to one of the markets if you get chance and but two big cabbages for one euro. The prices for fruit and veg are great. We have a video soon on Lemon Tree Market. All the best Mike and Yvonne.
If you think about it from the perspective of your american salary, you have to take into account that the standard of living in Spain is high for the Spaniards themselves. In Spain the salaries are low, there is a very high unemployment rate (even the youth unemployment rate is high), taxes are high. I, as a Spaniard, don´t recommend you to move to Spain.
