The best thing about Konosuba is that even though almost everything is played for laughs, the actual writing and execution of the anime is honestly surprisingly well done. The relationships, exceptional character development, the setups for the jokes, the punchlines, and the overall just genuinely charming characters is really high quality for an anime in general, but especially so for a parody anime. It's basically a really high quality parody that happens to be higher quality than a lot of non-parody anime. It's like somebody who actually knows how to make good anime decided to clown on people who don't by making an anime that makes fun of them while simultaneously being just a better anime. It's great.
I suppose to Kazuma plan to eliminate the demon king before to have a relationship with any girls .
The other problem is to he love Eris but sadly it s a one side relationship
In my opinion, Megumin is the best person for Kazuma because as we saw in the 3rd season, every time something happens to Kazuma, Megumin is there or supports Kazuma. For example, in the 10th episode, when Kazuma gave up on saving Darkness, Megumin listened to him and saw how hard he tried, so she told him that no matter what he do, he shouldn't regret it.
Well, she keeps blueballing him, both in the novels and anime.

I think one moment that gets looked over is when Megumin and Aqua go to the guild before Kazuma and Darkness. Everyone is mad and yelling at them, and as soon as Kazuma walks in, Megumin spots him and cutely calls to him for help.

I figured that was more when Megumin started to develop feelings for Kazuma as a close friend and trusted confidant, while her romantic feelings developed gradually over time.
I feel like it was during the movie that Megumin finally began to understand her feelings for Kazuma and truly fell in love with him.
For example, it was during their second attempt to sleep together that Megumin began to feel sexually attracted towards Kazuma, and it was after he convinced her not to give up explosion magic that she realized how much she really desired him, both romantically and sexually.

The previous, foolish me was actually thinking that Darkness was the one for Kazuma.
But then, all in the span of one day, I watched all of Megumin's side story, the movie, and then season 3 in that order and... It's just impossible for me to root for anyone else now.
The only thing that makes me sad is that I have to wait for a whole 'nother season again.
I recommend reading the KonoSuba light novel if you want more KonoSuba
I’m with you. I just got into the show last week and am really disappointed the third season literally JUST came out. If I have to wait 7 years like those who have been avid fans for a long time I’ll likely have a career job and maybe kids. I don’t want to wait that long

@@Mrspartan2025 The light novel is 17 volumes long. Reading it can be done in moderation or binged. If you binge read ir, you might be able to read a volume per day or even more, depending on the number of breaks
I was always team Megumin, and I actually felt the second and especially this season had a lot of great moments that made me appreciate Darkness way more, to the point where I kind of feel bad for her now. However, I think Darkness is happy to be their companion, and while she’s had quite a few, let’s say intimate moments with Kazuma, she’s not really looking for romantic love.
When a parody anime has better relationship development than most stories nowadays
Mostly because unlike most Japanese Anime, let alone isekai, Konosuba characters are heavely flawed people.
Kazuma is a self proclaimed pervert, blunt, smug bastard, yet he cares a lot for his teammates. He doesn't give them special treatment despite them being girls.
Same for aqua, megumin amd Darkness. Flawed and incorrigible, yet each full of depth.
Kazuma doesn't hesitate to ground aqua, berate megumin or belittle darkness by embarrassing her for real, and likewise, when something aweful happens to him, it's well deserved.
It's refreshing to see a guy in an all female team without the harem shenanigans: aqua and Kaz are always fighting like siblings, he knows exactly how to get under Darkness skin despite her masochism and his relashionship with megumin grows in a realistic way : lots of bickering and complicit moments and a solid trust.
It's also great to have characters who say what they think, are honest to each other without reserve and take bold initiatives, even if the results don't always match their expectations

Around season 1 and 2, it was just the usual misunderstanding lucky fanservice moments. Darkness and Megumin talking together in Alcanretia hotspring is probably the only closest thing to their "romance progress"
Though if you're talking about Megumin specifically, she just kinda naturally fell in love with Kazuma in oppose to Darkness having Kazuma saved her like a prince on a white horse in this season. I don't know if it's in the side story, spin-off, or later volumes where Megumin talked confirmed about it, and it's basically, aside from how he accepted Megumin for who she is after getting shunned by so many parties, he always accompanied her in her daily explosion, willingly gave her piggyback ride home and even appreciate her craft.
Basically, Megumin is the "gamer otaku" while Kazuma is "that person who enjoyed watching you play games and praise you whenever you finished a level even though they're not as passionate". Easy to imagine, right?

I have been reading the novels recently and it pains me to see how kazuma and megumin's relationship was translated into the anime. Don't get me wrong, it's still adorable, but there were more than a couple of times where the novels were way more explicit, such as megumin explicitly saying "I like you" at the end of the Crimson Village arc, I get that they can't adapt everything but it still pains me to see such cute scenes lost in adaptation
To be fair, they had a change in direction between the movie and film when it came to handling romance as I believe the director had a change of heart

Darkness I feel like the only attraction he has for her is her body (excluding that they just feel like friends, although idk how Darkness feels). Aqua very much is his friend and sibling and nothing more. Kazuma's love for her is entirely platonic and he reacts with disgust whenever someone even hints at the idea of him having a crush on her. Darkness very much falls in love with Kazuma and he does feel for her too, but he despite his words to the contrary, he doesn't actually want a harem and he chooses Megumin. Besides that, he just gets along with her the best and really enjoys the Crimson Demon culture for all that he mocks it.

Me personally I like his relationship with Lalatina a bit more. Specifically Lalatina not Darkness as they are two completely different characters to me lol. They kind of have that teasing relationship that aqua and kazuma have but she also gives off more onee San vibes trying to look out for him when he’s acting foolish.
