You commented on females being worst I can believe it and think some of that is she’s wanting to protect you! I think females are more protective than a male just my opinion thank you for the videos
Yeah I don't know exactly what it is the females are definitely a lil more complicated than males not all of em but it's pretty noticable and thank you for coming in and taking the time to drop a comment
Its great that you actaully touched one of my concerns witha young dog I ahve. . I have a female, and she is 4 months old. I take out with me everytime I go into the woods, just give her exercise ,and let her out. I am a little fearful that she follows more that gets out in front of me. She is contantly seems to be wanting to track stuff but since I have no clue (more than likely a deer) I don't encourage. But again she is young. I wonder if I should stop before I create a bad habit or dependency. What do you think?
@@MalbrookHoundTrainingOutdoors yeah, that just they way I did back in the days. Start our a ridge, or go up a hollar. The dogs I had back, you just had to point them an wait. Thaks for the advice, and reponding.
Thank you so much sir! Everything you’ve said has absolutely hit the hammer on the head. I enjoy walk hunting her but she’s relying on that and she’s absolutely playing some games. She 90% where I’d like her to be. I’m gonna do exactly what you said to do but there’s 2 more things I’m also doing to try to get her where I can get her to range out farther. If you’d like to know what they are just say so and I’ll pm you.
Needed this video. I find Smoke will go 30 yards to 75 yards and if there nothing that interest him he will come back and just mill around me. It drives me crazy. I find myself walking him and he will go about the same distance again and come back if he hasnt found anything. I started running him with another male and he will go the distance. But still if he hasnt picked up a track he will come back and mill around. I guess i am going to have to be patient and just wait him out.
I'm working on my own combo cur female and had issues with her leaving my side. I ran her with my husky who has no problem leaving my side and that gave her the confidence to get out to 80+ yds with or without the husky now
@@savagemark2g it's always great when you turn em with another dog and they click that they can get out there by their self with out back up instead of looking at like they need help to move
That's something I literally can't tolerate is a dog that has to be walked... I generally start turning them down field edges and gradually get further and further from where I'm actually wanting them to be hunting. Just a suggestion! Another awesome video buddy! 👏🙌👊
