I remember playing with waking up Christmas morning, and having a duel disc, I was so happy, that day I dueled my big bro for about five hours, and I used Seto's Deck, and Atem's Deck, and finally Zorc's Deck, my bro used Joey's Deck. That was a good twelve years ago. I don't have those decks or the duel disc anymore ;< But I do still have Shiny Blue Eyes, Shiny Dark Magician, Summon Skull, and all three Egyptian god cards as well as all the pieces of Exodia.
One of my favorite possessions is still one of the first copies of Slifer the Sky Dragon. It was all I got for my birthday b/c it was so expensive but it was awesome. Before the God cards were banned I won several tournaments with it at my local card shop. That shop has closed since and the God cards apparently are super weak now compared to the new cards (I know nothing about XYZ or synchro) but I still remember the good old days when Yugioh was the best thing about my saturday morning haha
BonJoviFanboy I know a guy like you that doesn't even understand XYZ or Synchro summoning, he literally can't understand the mechanics of more summons without an effect, because he fell out right before synchro became popular and thus he walks back in with things like Polymerization being big still in his head, sees XYZ and Synchro and just scratches his head.
Brian Forsyth I have learned the mechanics of the game with XYZ and Synchro. I left after playing it online for just a few months because it was insanely boring compared to the originals. The game is far more formulaic, with every card have a paragraph of text as an effect. This supposedly makes the game more complicated but it slows the pace of the game down and makes it dull. Archetypes also mean that netdecking is far more common. Every deck of that archetype will be nearly identical which is why I prefer the original cards more because I feel like there is more variety. TLDR: I understand the mechanics of the game including the new shit and just choose to not play anymore because I consider it inferior to what the game used to be.
BonJoviFanboy everyone seems to think it's a bad direction, and I don't necessarily agree. They will lose out on the older players that still remember other times, but there's a lot more stupid kids with stupider parents willing to dole out hundreds for a child's hobby. They focused on those people, which meant the game had to become more oriented to their mindset. True, lots of cards have paragraph long effects now, but inside an archetype, there's a lot of copy paste, so just skimming all your cards once tells you what combo to go for.

Sounds like more of a love/heartbreak theme (could fit to Kaiba maybe) I read the lyrics: okay, so it's not love/heartbreak song. More like someone got screwed in the past and is now trying to screw back. All in all, I like it. Very good.

Oh my goodness this is amazing!! I absolutely love it! I cannot describe how awesome it is! But I can make an analogy! The awesomeness of this song is like getting Change of Heart after just seeing it played for the first time in the Yu-gi-oh anime show.

I think this matches Yugi so well too because of all the challenges he faces from his opponents who are in control and force him to duel in the shadow realm for stakes that are meant to push him down, but instead allow him to rise to new heights.

Originally Yugioh is for teen. In Japan only though. Due to censorship Yugioh was reduced to a kid friendly franchise here in the USA. But this song doesn't sound like it belongs to the 4K Yugioh. More like Yugioh Japanese version or Uncut.
Well the entire franchise was intended for male teens. Even Takahashi stated he wrote the franchise for male teens. Even the OCG is for ages 12+ in Japan. The manga is more dark and a bit graphic.

I'm getting seriously annoyed with people saying this is about bakura. Seriously, the song is from the movie 'pyramid of light' where bakura never even appears once. It's from seto kaiba(and Seth)'s perspective on the Pharaoh (aka yami or atem) and his continual losses to him. This is his message to yami that he'll win no matter what. Part of it is also from yami's perspective, like when it says "forgot the lesson of the test" that refers to the mind crush in the first episode where yami wanted

Alternately you could look at different verses as being different perspectives. Particularly the 'you destroyed the future with your past' could be viewed as being directed towards several antagonists rather than from.
