I dont reel like ranking because the style is so different and everyone have their own taste. Dali has a clear Sound but also very light. I didn't want them to be, because I had my heart set on something else, but... the Dali's are a clear winner for me - a lot more open, rhythmic and detailed than the rest. From the start of the track you can hear the extra detail of the drums and especially the cymbals. That combined with the full, defined bass, carry you through the track with more groove and life than the others. The mids are clear, uncoloured and don't get lost in that extra rhythmic ability. There's more air in the overall sound than the others, the others sound a bit muddled in comparison. But it's that next level of rhythmic timing/good time beat that's sold them to me. The Dalis made my foot tap, the others didn't.

Beautiful options and great song for comparison. B&W 705 S2 - Very Bright & easily fatiguing (Extreme V curve) DALI Rubicon 2 - Bright (V curve) KEF R3 - Neutral SONUS FABER Sonetto 2 - Neutral / Warmish* DYNAUDIO Evoke 20 - Warm Every brand has a house/signature sound and there can be slight variations with in their model line-ups. The above is also mostly true for these house signatures. Example - KEF LS50 Meta are a tad bit brighter than KEF R3. The key is to select the brand(s) based on which of these signatures align to the type of music you listen to and for how many hours a day and then compare models with in the brand(s). If I have to pick one solely based on this demo comparison, I'll go with Sonus Faber, fits perfect for my taste. I'll pick these over my current speakers, KEF R3.
Thank you for all the effort! Sonus and Dali's are best in doing most things right. The KEFs sound surprisingly bright. I hear voice distorsion from B&Ws. I think I liked Dynaudios most because of the tight bass and their neutrality.
Sonus Faber and Dali are the ones that sound more pleasant to the ear and I think what makes that is their lively midbass. KEF sounds very neutral, bass is very precise and controled and I think is it the most accurate of the bunch (well, you can use equalization to make it sound funnier). Dynaudio is very relaxed and soft on your ears, but is lacking some oomph and sparkle which some people might prefer it. B&W sounds just ugly and gave me a headache. I think KEF tries to make the most accurate speaker as possible, while Sonus Faber, Dali and Dynaudio try to make very enjoyable speakers in their own way. I don't know what the hell those B&W engineers were thinking. Out of the bunch, I prefer KEFs, since I like accurate speakers (and KEF's soundstage probably is the best of the bunch).
Its those Damn Tweeters B&W uses. never liked them. I dont think this song is very good to use however. I have heard the Dynaudio's and they sound better than in this video.
Dali aren't that bad, a lot of depends on the room and position. I think that maybe the position of mic here actually exaggerates the low end. I like the Kefs more than Dali in this comparison, then SF, but they are too polite and roll of highs.
Definitely, 1. KEF R3 the most detailed sound, with the best localization of each instrument (3-way). 2. SF (have uncontrolled midbass) 3. Dali (Dali have an emphasis on high frequencies) Want to compare this set with Oberon 3 and Elac 6.2, ProAc (SM100) ATC SCM11-19 (any)
Today I listened to these speakers in real life. Sonus and Dynaudio sounded best for me. I ordered the Sonus because it sound musically with more body and a little bit warmer and sophisticated.
@Sound Sommelier, first of all there are only a fe channels where great tests are provided without all the blablabla around but you put so much efforts into your tests including your equipment which is simply incredible! Thank you and please go head with doing so! 👍😊 Regarding this test these are all great speakers. My favourite is 1. Sonus Faber because most balanced and good for long term listening. 2. Dali also well balanced and a clearer but without the feeling Sonus Faber gives. 3. KEF fantastic sound but for my way of listening voices could become too intensive. 4. B&W even though I like them they cannot compete with 1, 2, and 3. 5. Dynaudio I am surprised that they sound like behind the curtain even though I thought I know them different!
1. Dynaudio - most coherent sound here from bass to treble. 2. Sonus Faber - strong mids and highs, great detail, subdued PRAT. 3. Dali - strong mid-range, bass overpowers the presentation and is wallowy at low frequencies. 4. KEF - midrange is thin and therefore the vocals have reduced engagement. 5. B&W - the tweeter seems both thin and strained at the same time.
Although I have the Dali Oberon, for my tastes the Sonus Faber sounded the best in terms of tonal balance & vocals. The Rubicon2 sound a lot livelier but there is Sibilance too. My favourite in general is the Dynaudio. But for some reason in this case, the Evoke sounded dull with a lower volume level. Although given the fact that a personal audition of these brands would give a much better idea than listening on the headphones. But nevertheless thanks a lot Sound Sommelier for taking the trouble as it still gives an idea.
Given that low-FI music is a very real world music situation for most of us (eg using Spotify as a source or listening to FM radio). This is an interesting test. They all sound like good speakers :). And everyone's list of preferences/requirements are different and lets be honest this whole space is subjective and there is no perfect system. Buy want sounds good to you. Many people may prefer "easy listening speakers" to compensate for limited sound sources and non ideal listening environments. Ok, my take on this comparison. The KEF's R3's most accurately reproduce the music source that you are playing, with the least distortion. I note that the R3's are a 3 way system and that all? of the other speakers are 2 way?. In comparing the R3's with the other speakers, the other speaker sound to either ... - Some what "voiced" to please/are brightened up just like pressing the loudness button on the amp. - Created to be more of a boom box. - Have a poorer accurately when representing the singer's voice. - Have greater distortion/phase interference/less linear frequency response (i.e. they all "color" the reproduced sound more). We can't tell from youtube recorded sound clips so much about stereo accuracy, unwanted sound residuals and dynamic response. We are all playing a stored recording/we aren't in the room. Thankyou to the Sound Sommelier: - For taking the time to do all these many thoughtful comparisons and posting them. - For positioning the mics far enough away for the lower frequencies to be captured well enough to be representative. - Having a great listening room/sound capture system ... there is very little "room effect" heard on the recordings.
For me the order of preference was: 1. KEF 2.= Sonus Faber and Dali 3. Dynaudio (very laid back but lacked a bit of energy) 4. B&W (Sounded brash and disjointed to me) I was listening on my KEF R300's so maybe not surprising that the KEFs won for me despite not knowing they were R3's until I checked the description. I enjoyed to comparison for a bit of fun but there are a lot of variables at play here so of course can't be used as a serious demo.
Beautiful comparison👌🏻😊 1. Dali 2. Kef 3. Sonus 4. Dynaudio 5. B&W Reason for that: 1.Först rate performance of komplext type of music with less distortion compared to the rest of speakers presents. 2. House shaking midbass 3. A lot of details and long from fatiguing
Upps🤭 Misunderstanding😅My evaluation is based only on playing high resolution music .... not sure about witch speaker is most forgiven when playing bad records. I know for sure that evoke,Excite and Focus series are very forgiving when the B&W are dynamic and expose most of the imperfection. The Rubicon is known for excelent separation but still a bit revealing .. Have no experience with the Sonus Faber Sonetto.. You know better and thank you for sharing your experiment with us.
Initially didn’t find a huge amount to dislike with any of them but going back to the Dali’s after listening to all 5 the Rubicons seem to have the cleanest vocals and is the speaker I could listen too the longest. Would like to hear the same test with a few different styles of music.
I've only auditioned the B&W & KEF in-person. The KEF was a huge winner for me in-person, very immersive edge of seat sound. Listening to this video I would rank 1) Dali 2) Sonus Farber 3) KEF That said, listening in-person is the only way to determine the best one for each listener. Videos like this are great to help me figure out what I want to audition against what. Thank you EDIT: 2nd Listen from Chorus 1 Dali is too bright, loses some bass mids Sonus too boomy, good separation, but loses some detail KEF just right like Goldilocks
Not only one of my favourite songs covered by a great singer those DALIs are so far the best sounding item I've heard on this channel! And lowly Rubicons at that! I'm a Kef fan boy but the rhythmic punch of the DALIs separate them from the R3s. The SF was similar to the Dalis with less punch and a bit more metallic sheen to to presentation.
Very good video thank you. I came from KEF, then for me this is the 1st choice, but if you want something less bright you can listen Sonus Faber (warmer) or Dynaudio (the warmest and most relaxing).
Really cool demo, it was nice to skip around and listen to the various sections of the track on the different speakers. The B&W sound the best to my ears followed my Sonus Faber and then the Kef's.
It seems to me that the only speaker showing the recording is lo-fi is the Evoke 20 and it's quite similar to what a studio monitor would do. All the other speakers have fatiguing hyped treble with the SF being the least offensive. And as always, the B&Ws have a recessed mid-range.
If the speakers were not shown throughout the comparison, I suspect the comments/comparisons here would be completely different. We can't take away choosing the speakers made by one's favorite brand. But KUDOS to you for providing a way for us to hear these side-by-side virtually.
Dali really gave a definite front to the song and for me had the most pronounced bass which formed a marked role in the track, the track had driving propelling force, Via KEF, tight sound, very behaved compared to DAli and was a little diminished and boring, via Sonus Faber sound became more wholsome with a nice breathy type of bass, via B&W did not like them had a overbearing feel, Dynaudio showed another side to the same track, smooth, detailed and musical without being forward and pushy like with Dali. Dali sound made the biggest impression for me because of the pronounced bass which gave the whole track lovely weight. But I can happily live with Sonus Faber and Dynaudio speakers.
Really a great idea to compare low and medium budget speakers. I like the B&W best followed by the Dali and Sonus Faber. To be honest, I was quite shocked by the poor performance of Dynaudio! Thanks again for your commitment! Follow the music, straight ahead!!! Lutz
Well here's my verdict after having a good listen. 1st. Dynaudio, very natural and non fatiguing sound, tight detailed bass, good balance overall. Use if you have bright sounding electronics. 2nd. Bowers & Wilkins, good in all areas, treble a little lively but very sweet. Don't have quite the natural sound of the Dynaudio or Sonus Faber. 3rd. Sonus Faber, again, very natural and non fatiguing sound, a little light in the bass but still very nice overall. 4th. KEF, muddy in the bass, too much upper mid which could be fatiguing after a while, probably better suited to surround sound applications or a system that needs life breathing into it. Big sound. 5th. Dali Rubicon 2, These are just a little too bright for me but great dynamics and full of life which would be great if your system sounded a little dull. I'm sure with a lightly higher value tweeter padding resistor from the factory these would be a brilliant all rounder. Like someone else on here already said, I would be happy to live with any of these speakers.
Thanks for that! IMO, tonal separation and clarity across the spectrum came through enough (even in this medium) to distinguish the KEF's from the rest and catch my attention. Your vid helped me to eventually decide on the KEF R3's as part of a home audio/theater set-up.
@@tonydavid7950 that’s why we need to hear things in person. Dynaudio are very far from muddy. That’s why serious music lovers who listen for hours prefer their warm sound. Analytical paper buyers are welcome to do all science.
@@tonydavid7950 that’s true of most mass market Dynaudio like Evoke or Xeo. It’s not at all true of Contour 20i (and several audiophile friends rave about them). Anyway - which speakers in this price category do you audiophile friends suggest?
@@tonydavid7950 that’s a decidedly Brit type of taste in this range. ATC or Harbeth would be even better. I don’t think LS50 is anywhere in this league, but it’s a decent starter kit. Dynaudio has a lot of substance in its sound, heft, but with Contour 20i and up they have incredible detail and delicacy. Buchardt A500 look interesting to me.
Very good video. The best are Sonus and Dynaudio for me. The Sonus seems to have a little bit warmer (but coloured) sound instead Dynaudio are really coherent and more natural than Sonus. Maybe I will buy the Dynaudio Evoke 20.
Dali and Sonnetto are fun and vivacious. Very dynamic, very impressive. Tight and fast bass, airy and sparkling treble. Beautiful definition and separation. Dynaudio sounds veiled, less dynamic, less separation. At the same time the most natural of em all because of its superb driver integration. I spark up my Dynaudio with a Schiit 4-band eq. Wonder if I could listen to Sonnetto all day without fatigue.
@@cmessi Emit 10 is all I can afford (has the same drivers). Schiit is bringing out more mid-range detail from the speakers on most recordings. Tried to drive the speakers with Hegel H190 and the 200W Rotel. Ended up with 50W Rotel a11 tribute which provides the sweetest sound.
@@cmessi first I the crank bass and treble on the Rotel a11 by 7db each. Then on Schiit Loki I turn the 1st knob to 1 o’clock, 2nd and 3rd knobs to 2 o’clock, 4th knob to 0-1 o’clock-depending on how bright the source material is. The combination of amp’s tonal boost and Schiit’s eq produces a lively sound from Emit10.
To me Kef R3s are clear winners. Was really expecting better from B&Ws but there is a huge difference in quality from 800 series and 700s. It is the 800s that shine.
Can you compare speakers in a recording or not? We are hearing some aspect of the speaker, maybe their frequency mix? The 3D feeling of a speaker will not be transmitted. Also we hear the sound processed by your microphone and our speakers at home. If yes, it's very nice and more comfortable than to go to a store. In the store I prefered the Dali, here I would do the same
I think my top 3 in order of preference would be (with this lo-fi source): 1. Sonus Faber 2. DALI Rubicon 3. KEF R3 Cool demo :-) Would be really nice if you could re-demo with high quality source material.
Amazing all different sounds from same amplification. B&w and Dali were very engaging toe tapping . Ive become very curious about dynaudio lately . All good speakers these, just which do you prefer and which work best with your equipment.
@@Leo-d8e Dyns are great for trebble-heavy rock music. I can’t imagine listening to that kind of thing from a more refined speaker that is voiced for extracting detail out of audiophile acoustic music.
And thank God for that. Have your ever heard a ruthlessly flat and revealing studio monitor? On such a speaker, Instruments sound raw and gritty - as they do in real life. Technically it's more accurate because it delivers the information equally, but It's not something you will like to listen to for enjoyment, it's too intense and unflattering. It's like eating raw stake as opposed to deliciously seasoned medium rare.
@@phetmoz Most, if not all, these speaker makers also offer higher-end models that give you that ruthless sound, for those that want that kind of listening experience.
Great sound from nearly all of these! Have to say I like the Dalis best of all which surprises me as I had the Zensor 3 briefly but hated them. Interesting to see you're using a pretty budget amplifier in the Audiolab 6000A in audiophile terms. How would you rate it? I have a Marantz all in one mini system, which I think sounds great for what it is, really balanced sound, works well with my speakers (Elac b5) but I'm looking to take a step up. Bear in mind I tried the Marantz pm6006 UK edition and liked it quite a lot less than my Marantz mini system!
Based on this alone, it looks like Dali takes the cake for me. More defined, articulate and natural sounding. B&W is good too but a little on the bright side. Dynaudio on the other hand sounds bloated, a bit worst than Kef. SF sounds odd, too mid centric probably. Thanks for the video!
I kind of like the SF but the tweeter rolls of highs to early. B&W as always on the bright side, too much. Something strange about the Dynaudio but not so bad - maybe in different room the bass would be more even.
As a Dynaudio owner I can say that all Dynaudios are very tough speakers. This amp is ridiculously not enough to power them up. Best way are separates with good power amplifier with high watts and current per channel. They also doesn't like compressed audio files. Dynaudio has more neutral, laid back sound than other competitors here (especially B&W). I like how Kef R3 and Sonus Faber sounds. DALI - fun to listen, but they colorize sound too much. B&W 705 as always too revealing and too forward sounding on my taste.
@@seaglance You are pretty much right, that amp is just short on power, in case they want to do this comparison with an integrated amp they may think about a Mcintosh ma8900 or ma9000, Mark Levinson 585 or even the ma252 to ensure the different speakers with different needs get enough power
Dynaudio sounds the best to me. Very musical and sweet midrange. 2nd would be sonus faber sonetto, good midrange not too laid back and not too forward. Dali and kef toss up. Bowers just dont work for me which immediately gets my attention with top sprinkle.
I have to hand the victory to the Evoke 20 they sound like music...they sound a bit closed in and muddy at first, but once you're sucked in its specialness is revieled, the vocals are sublime very BBC monitor like...the Sonus Faber sounded very good as well...
KEF first for me, then Dynaudio. I have tinnitus and some higher frequencies are scratchy and harsh. I'm looking for a neutral sound except would prefer floor standers. Thanks for this comparison!
Can you redo this comparison with a rock music track featuring electric guitars. I feel like Dali and Evoke would sound like the least “confused” speakers.
Dalis sound impressive for the first few minutes, but would get tiring really fast. The R3 win this bttle for me - the bass is detailed and articulate, voices are clear and natural, and the highs are rolled off just enough to make them pleasing.
Own the B&W 705 s2 . In my listening area, they do not sound anything like what I hear in the demo. All their treble's sparkle and mid-range sweetness been sucked out. If you have an interest in any of these products, recommend you audition them "LIVE" , before pulling the trigger.

May be. However I auditioned Evoke 20s feeded by many amps and their wonderful laid-back, relaxed presentation never changed substantially
I have never found the B&W's to cause listening fatigue quite the opposite in fact i find them to be quite warm and nicely detailed,
I have owned the CM series and now the newer 700 series,
To my ears the most fatiguing sound i have ever experienced was from the Tannoy XT8F's , i tried different amps and nothing seemed to smooth out the forward treble and sibilance from these speakers,
I also remembered demoing some KEF R500's and found them to be a little harsh too, When i moved over to B&W everything seemed to smooth out but still keeping crystal clear clarity, but i guess sound quality is very subjective.
Sound Sommelier : which amp best suitable for KEF R3 . Can you suggest
Sound Sommelier couldn't agree more regarding the Evoke 20's the longer you listen the more your rewarded they never let up worth every penny in my book...Just make sure your amp has real muscle, then sit back and listen to them sing.
I dont reel like ranking because the style is so different and everyone have their own taste.
Dali has a clear Sound but also very light.
With KEF I enjoy the drive of the Music
The Sonus has a great balance between instruments and the Singer.
The B&W has the Best sounding vocal and the most punchy rythm.
The Dynaudio - at frist very neutral but actually I didnt hear the speakers - only the Music.
This is very Nice to compare like this. We learn a lot about the style of Sound every speaker has.

Indeed - Dali true winner here. Dynaudio Evoke sounded bit muted? not enough runned-in?
Dali 10x I'm in love!
Haha. I think Dali is the worst among those speakers. Sound is harsh and bass is not low enough.
Yes, Dynaudio sounded bad. Where they given a fair chance. I have heard them. Properly broken in?
@@randytrinh86 Sound isn’t harsh, you’re just used to a sound that has loads of BOOM and not enough midrange.

The key is to select the brand(s) based on which of these signatures align to the type of music you listen to and for how many hours a day and then compare models with in the brand(s).

Dali is the best! Great comparison, thank you!
I find that the Bowers are the most accurate. The rest just seem to be adding a bunch of frequencies.
I feel the Dali's add some extra bloat in the bass. I had this problem with the lower lines (Zensor 7) but apparantly this is their house sound?
Its those Damn Tweeters B&W uses. never liked them. I dont think this song is very good to use however. I have heard the Dynaudio's and they sound better than in this video.
@@tyleryosef9862 Not a chance.. According to measurments elsewhere, 705s show the worst FR of the bunch, barely "accurate".
2. SF (have uncontrolled midbass)
3. Dali (Dali have an emphasis on high frequencies)
Want to compare this set with Oberon 3 and Elac 6.2, ProAc (SM100) ATC SCM11-19 (any)
оберон 3 мне показался гундосым на нижней середине= верхнем басе . не смог такое слушать
My favorites is :
1. Sonus Faber
2. DALI Rubicon
Excellent comparison which will be actually useful in our daily life usage. 👍
Today I listened to these speakers in real life. Sonus and Dynaudio sounded best for me. I ordered the Sonus because it sound musically with more body and a little bit warmer and sophisticated.
Do you still have them

@Sound Sommelier, first of all there are only a fe channels where great tests are provided without all the blablabla around but you put so much efforts into your tests including your equipment which is simply incredible! Thank you and please go head with doing so! 👍😊
Regarding this test these are all great speakers.
My vote
1.Dali Rubicon
2.Sonus Fabre
3.Kef R3
4.Dynaudio
5.BW
Same
Thankyou to the Sound Sommelier:
- For taking the time to do all these many thoughtful comparisons and posting them.
- For positioning the mics far enough away for the lower frequencies to be captured well enough to be representative.
- Having a great listening room/sound capture system ... there is very little "room effect" heard on the recordings.
For me the order of preference was:
1. KEF
2.= Sonus Faber and Dali
3. Dynaudio (very laid back but lacked a bit of energy)
4. B&W (Sounded brash and disjointed to me)
I was listening on my KEF R300's so maybe not surprising that the KEFs won for me despite not knowing they were R3's until I checked the description.
I enjoyed to comparison for a bit of fun but there are a lot of variables at play here so of course can't be used as a serious demo.
1. kef
2.dali
3. sonus faber
Another amp will chance my top.
For me Dali and B&W sound the best✌️✌️✌️
Yeah i agree
Dear sound sommelier, I would LOVE to hear a comparison between B&W 705 S2 and B&W 805 D3…
Love the channel, love the comparisons. Of big value!
There is no comparison, the 8 series is way better.
I'm not a Dali fan but they sounded the best to me
i agree
Inagree
@@NaveenKumar-uh2gk Inagree ?! Cool word !
Dali is clearly the winner
Beautiful comparison👌🏻😊
1. Dali
2. Kef
3. Sonus
4. Dynaudio
5. B&W
Reason for that: 1.Först rate performance of komplext type of music with less distortion compared to the rest of speakers presents.
2. House shaking midbass
Hallo can you play a deep house track to understand the dynamics and the bass ? Thank you !
Love the comment section. We all hear differently. My choice, my ears
Dali
Kef
Sonus Faber
Dynaudio
B&W ( never really been a fan)
I've only auditioned the B&W & KEF in-person. The KEF was a huge winner for me in-person, very immersive edge of seat sound.
Listening to this video I would rank
1) Dali
2) Sonus Farber
3) KEF
That said, listening in-person is the only way to determine the best one for each listener.
Videos like this are great to help me figure out what I want to audition against what.
Thank you
EDIT:
2nd Listen from Chorus 1
Dali is too bright, loses some bass mids
Sonus too boomy, good separation, but loses some detail
KEF just right like Goldilocks
In person and for long listening Dynaudio would blow all of these. KEF is way too bright
1- Sonus Faber Sonetto 2
2- B&W 705 S2
3- DYNAUDIO Evoke 20
Very good video thank you. I came from KEF, then for me this is the 1st choice, but if you want something less bright you can listen Sonus Faber (warmer) or Dynaudio (the warmest and most relaxing).
Really cool demo, it was nice to skip around and listen to the various sections of the track on the different speakers. The B&W sound the best to my ears followed my Sonus Faber and then the Kef's.
pigs I am with you. The Bowers don’t seem to be adding any coloration. At least not as much as the others.
Dali, wow wow wow. From the start to the end, so engaging, everything so perfect. Loved it!!
Thx man! - for your work on this comparison and the chosen song....
The Evokes are very refined, suitable for long sesions or rough music like metal, or electronica.
To my ears via my speakers:
DALI 1
Sonus Faber 2
Dynaudio 3
KEF 4
B&W last.
Really a great idea to compare low and medium budget speakers. I like the B&W best followed by the Dali and Sonus Faber. To be honest, I was quite shocked by the poor performance of Dynaudio! Thanks again for your commitment! Follow the music, straight ahead!!! Lutz
Thanks for the very good Comparison,for me 1:Dali and B&W ,Number2:Sonus Faber3:Dynaudio 4: KEF.(Headphone).🎹🎺🎸🎷🎧🎼🎵🙏🤘
Most natural sound is Dynaudio. That being said, I prefer the coloration of the Sonus Faber.
Exactly my feelings. Owner of the super “natural” Emit10 but yearning for a bit more “spark.”
1. Sonus Faber
2. Kef
3.Dali
4.Dynaudio
5. B&W
1 Dynaudio : most natural
2 Dali
3 B&W
4 Sonus Faber
5 KEF
🎧☺️evok 20 ...sounds good.. 🎧
Thanks for that! IMO, tonal separation and clarity across the spectrum came through enough (even in this medium) to distinguish the KEF's from the rest and catch my attention. Your vid helped me to eventually decide on the KEF R3's as part of a home audio/theater set-up.
Far too bright. The best of the bunch was Dynaudio.
1. Kef R3.
2. Dynaudio Evoke 20.
3. SONUS FABER Sonetto 2.
I don't care about the rest.
Is Hegel 190 enough to drive Dynaudio Evoke 20 and 50? I am thinking if I should spend more to get Hegel 390 instead.
You have the evokes 20 with a Schiit EQ?
@@cmessi Emit 10 is all I can afford (has the same drivers). Schiit is bringing out more mid-range detail from the speakers on most recordings. Tried to drive the speakers with Hegel H190 and the 200W Rotel. Ended up with 50W Rotel a11 tribute which provides the sweetest sound.
@@gokhanersan8561 Nice. Which Eq band you adjust to get more midrange detail? And how much you turn it? Thx.
In the store I prefered the Dali, here I would do the same
Thank you great channel, All great speakers but The Dali is my pick here
Sonus Faber and Dali for me. Good for long listening sessions.
I think my top 3 in order of preference would be (with this lo-fi source):
1. Sonus Faber
2. DALI Rubicon
3. KEF R3
Cool demo :-) Would be really nice if you could re-demo with high quality source material.
Can you believe it, I've actually found an AVR that can drive my Sonos Faber sonetto speakers pretty damn good 😲
Amazing all different sounds from same amplification. B&w and Dali were very engaging toe tapping . Ive become very curious about dynaudio lately . All good speakers these, just which do you prefer and which work best with your equipment.
In My Opinion
#1 B&W
#2 KEF
#3 SF
#4 Dynaudio
#5 Dali
I can see why they voiced the Dynaudio darker. They sacrificed some air to make screechy passages of music sound tolerable.
Lol... I was actually wondering if the Dynaudios are best suited to today's sub-optimal mastering.
@@Leo-d8e Dyns are great for trebble-heavy rock music. I can’t imagine listening to that kind of thing from a more refined speaker that is voiced for extracting detail out of audiophile acoustic music.
Good video to show just what a MASSIVE difference speakers make and how much every maker colors sound.
Dali and Sonus great mids vocals
B&W great highs
Dynaudio most neutral
Kef did’t like at all
Based on this alone, it looks like Dali takes the cake for me. More defined, articulate and natural sounding. B&W is good too but a little on the bright side. Dynaudio on the other hand sounds bloated, a bit worst than Kef. SF sounds odd, too mid centric probably. Thanks for the video!
Yep, I'm going to buy a pair of the Rubis...awesome speaker.
I kind of like the SF but the tweeter rolls of highs to early. B&W as always on the bright side, too much. Something strange about the Dynaudio but not so bad - maybe in different room the bass would be more even.
Sonus Faber. Did the Dynaudios have a towel over them??
As a Dynaudio owner I can say that all Dynaudios are very tough speakers. This amp is ridiculously not enough to power them up. Best way are separates with good power amplifier with high watts and current per channel. They also doesn't like compressed audio files. Dynaudio has more neutral, laid back sound than other competitors here (especially B&W).
I like how Kef R3 and Sonus Faber sounds. DALI - fun to listen, but they colorize sound too much. B&W 705 as always too revealing and too forward sounding on my taste.
@@seaglance Quite interesting. I prefer B&W but I also love the relaxing sound of Dynaudio.
@@seaglance You are pretty much right, that amp is just short on power, in case they want to do this comparison with an integrated amp they may think about a Mcintosh ma8900 or ma9000, Mark Levinson 585 or even the ma252 to ensure the different speakers with different needs get enough power
That is what it sounded like to me as well I was disappointed based on the rave reviews.
Thank you so much. A very claver comparision!!!!
I find Dali the most transparent, articulate and overall balanced in lows&mids&high tones. Biggest dissapointment: Dynaudio..
Really good idea 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Dynaudio sounds the best to me. Very musical and sweet midrange. 2nd would be sonus faber sonetto, good midrange not too laid back and not too forward. Dali and kef toss up. Bowers just dont work for me which immediately gets my attention with top sprinkle.
I really appreciate these comparisons, it just opened my eyes to B&W.
I never knew they sounded so good.
B&W hit the sweet spot for me!
I have to hand the victory to the Evoke 20 they sound like music...they sound a bit closed in and muddy at first, but once you're sucked in its specialness is revieled, the vocals are sublime very BBC monitor like...the Sonus Faber sounded very good as well...
1. Kef
2. Sonus Faber.
3. Bowers Willians
4. Dynaudio
5. Dali
1- Sonus
2- Dali
3- B&W
Thank you letting us know . such great vocals. This entire album “Lean on me” in my KEF LS50 Wireless freaking awesome 😎
Brilliant real world test!
Question, why is the dynaudio evoke sound, as if treble is low not completely clear?
Sonus Faber all the way
I chose the Dali first but after a second round I think the sonus has more separation and imaging.
KEF first for me, then Dynaudio. I have tinnitus and some higher frequencies are scratchy and harsh. I'm looking for a neutral sound except would prefer floor standers. Thanks for this comparison!
Did you buy the Evokes? I have the same ear problem.
The Danes anyday.....detailed open fluid yet balanced from top to bottom.
In order of brightness Dali, B&W, SF, KEF, Dynaudio ... I think
Please do this with the 5's or equivalent of all of them. LOVE this.
the sonus faber are absolutely the most balanced, high precise and not too bright, robust bass and without tails or mixed sound
R3 is a naturality beast... By far the best among these
The Dynaudio sounds softer somehow. Were these volume matched?
That's the creamy Dynaudio house sound. Nice for untreated rooms. Sadly here Dynaudio is dynamically hindered by the amp.
6:50 that's almost the setup I will buy: Audiolab 6000A + Audiolab 6000CDT + Sonus faber Sonetto 1 (instead of 2) :D
As torres Sonus Faber Sonetto 3 devem ser uma maravilha. Para o meu gosto elas devem agradar mais que as KEF R5, Dali Rubicon 6, B&W 703S2 e Dynaudio Evoke 30.
Own the B&W 705 s2 . In my listening area, they do not sound anything like what I hear in the demo. All their treble's sparkle and mid-range sweetness been sucked out. If you have an interest in any of these products, recommend you audition them "LIVE" , before pulling the trigger.
