The fork was a 1 1/8, not tapered. I did at a later point install a tapered fork (see the other upgrade video). To install a tapered fork you would need to change the headset but that’s an easy task providing you have the right tools for the job. Have fun doing your upgrades! 😊
I'm going to replace my Marlin 6 crankset with suport on SHIMANO FC-M5100 deore, as you know, prowheel is originally installed- 1x10. Did you have a problem with the chainline after the replacement? I want to stay with the original 10 speed cassette
No problem at all. I assume you already have a hollowtech bottom bracket. These have the right amount of spacers installed for non boost so in theory there should not be an issue with the chain line. Not with the chainring that comes with the crankset. When I installed my one up oval chainring I had to use some spacers between chainring and crank but they came in the package. 😊
Could you have used the internal cable route for the front derailleur for the dropper? I’ve seen other videos where someone had done this. Would be much tidier.
Thanks for watching! :) It’s what I did here. Part of the cable goes through the frame where the front derailleur cable once was. I wasn’t too happy with the result though as you can’t get around having the rest of the cable behind your seat tube. In my second video you can see I decided to get a 150 mm internal dropper instead. :)
Thank you so much! And yes I agree. It felt a bit sad having to drill a little hole into the frame to fit an internal dropper post. But I did it eventually. Check my other video. There my bike has an internally routed One Up dropper. Just a shame I lost warranty on the frame. But the dropper was more important. 😁👍
Thank you! 😊 Yes it will fit. I tested specialized 2.3 and 2.35 tires and there was space left. Now I have a bontrager xr3 2.4 and there’s still some space. :)
At this stage the bike had Bontrager Kovee Wheels. The hubs are standard to this particular wheel with quick release. I can check for you but it’s standard to this particular wheel. :)
Totally understand. The Marlin in its original state isn’t that awesome but it has potential. Personally I like both full suspension and hardtails for different rides. I hope you enjoy your new full suspension bike. What did you get? 😊

According to the spec sheet I just found it’s 51 mm offset with a current travel of 100 mm. The fork that came with this bike was a simple fork, so not sure there about the offset. :)

I believe your rim’s are too skinny for trying to make them tubeless, this is probably why it didn’t work properly without leaking 🤷♂️ Very few entry level mountain bike’s come with tubeless ready rims or tires. Nice build regardless👍🏻 the above is not a negative comment either, just sharing knowledge I have found on my own travel’s 😊
Thanks! These are not the original rims. These are Kovee TLR (tubeless) rims I bought as an upgrade as the original Bontrager Connection rims didn’t work so well tubeless as they weren’t intended for it. No problems since. These Kovee rims are great though and like I said tubeless ready. 😊

It’s a lot smoother. 😊 Here is how my bike was when I bought it: www.trekbikes.com/se/sv_SE/cyklar/mountainbikecyklar/mountainbike-cross-country/marlin/marlin-6-womens/p/28788/

NIce upgrades. What is the name of the maker for your rear QR skewer and seat post clamp? Thank you
The QR skewer on the back is a DT Swiss and the seat post clamp came as part of an anti-theft set from XLC. It can be locked so it’s great. ☺️
