Mine landed only a week ago so nice to see Im not alone in finding these a worth-while mod. Just as a throwaway, Emerald will soon be releasing an electric powered version that both opens & closes, happy days.
Yeah I had them on mine 3 months now 😁 and I already asked him about sending me them for test and trail on my car, as I know how to wire it all, ain’t hard and I can be the first to do the video.
@@BMWDoctor That certainly sounds like a plan & with me learning many years ago not to mess with electrics (the hard way) I hope it comes with a ciggy lighter power supply cable.. I look forward to watching your install, take care fella !!
I have a problem i hope u can help me with. I have a 535d 2005 and my little turbo is not working. I searched about it and didnt understand a thing. I sesrched if it was any hose of and saw one but i dont know if it need to be this of its a hose who Need to be on it.
Hi Doctor, Not sure if you can offer some advice please, I can’t get my boot open, on a F33, was retrofitting LCI lights, and did remove REM cable briefly to take a picture, but REM cable was reinstalled before shutting boot, I have removed the the lining and top loader switch, boot now displays as open on dash, but is still latched, not sure if this is one for BMW, I may have got a cloth stuck in the actuator, the actuator was replaced 8 weeks ago by BMW. Not sure if there is a way to unlatch it somehow, as it’s technically open, but no noise from actuator motor, Used BimmerLink and found some issues, which could not be reset, ZV drive tailgate (MERHK) line interruption or short circuit.
How do i do the coding you mentioned? Also it looked like it opened pretty fast😳 Anyway you could do a video showing how to do that with minimal resources?.... When can we expect the electric struts to be released?
Isit dangerous because it’s aftermarket ?? But I bet if it was genuine from factory it wouldn’t be dangerous and nobody would say anything ! The fact is the E60 and E63 has done this since it left the factory and never heard of anybody being hit with the boot. If there stupid enough to stand right behind a boot manual or automatic then more fool them. Nobody should be standing close to a boot when it opens, the fact is anything is dangerous in life regardless aftermarket or fitted from factory everyday in life is a risk, fitting boot struts to have a automatic boot I very very much doubt there is even a 0.5% chance of a risk to anybody or anything. It’s very simple you use your brain don’t try open your boot in a low roof enviroment and also don’t try opening it up with people behind very simple really. The same goes for even automatic opening boots on the new X5 that rise a little slower are they dangerous too ? I been using this for the last 3 months without any issue because I’m sensible, only people who would comment crap like this are the ones that pose a risk to others and themselves that’s why you commented saying it looks dangerous, I think you may have had a problem before which means If I was you I wouldn’t attempt to buy these. George does state on his website please have a brain and use caution when fitting and using these.
@@BMWDoctor seems like you’re defending this as you’re getting commission through the ad. The struts are spring loaded. Factory fitted parts aren’t spring loaded, they’re motorised. They open at a much slower rate giving you time to step aside. This solution is only worthwhile if you stand at a distance and use your fob. Your video clearly shows you opening using a fob and it suddenly opening, with you having to catch it. In terms of using our “brains”, this probably isn’t suitable for those with children and pets. The X5 opens at a much slower rate, so it’s not a like-for-like example. Thanks for responding professionally though.
I love the idea of this mod, but on the 1 series forum I follow there have been issues reported with the kit from this company causing issues with the boot being damaged. Because of this I haven’t carried out this mod. Maybe later ones are better, but not a risk I’m taking.
dangerous???? I mean if this is dangerous then they shouldn't be driving a car at all.... on the E60 is opening even qiucker and doesn't slow down at the end because the springs need replacing probably

is it possible to disable boot release without destroying the key fob
Hi Doctor,
Great videos, keep up the good work.
What boot delay coding would you recommend after the install, 0.5 or 1 second? Cheers
Great video and detailed explanation, need more vids like this to get people into functional mods like this one

Hey doctor,
Any chance you could let me know on my previous message?
Thanks
Looks dangerous… like you have to catch the boot lid opening so that it doesn’t hit into you

Thank you so much for this very useful tip ! Moreover, you have a good way of showing and explaining things, very good job doctor !
In my f36 I love opening boot using key fob, it's so good that recently started opening on its own, premium rubbish BMW.
