the design was in the style of the game. The game's bosses mostly had kinda childish or child friendly bosses, remember when that scaly salamander boss first appeared at the beginning of the game it looked kindda intimidating? When you battle it it looks like some character from a kid's show with cuddly big feet. Nintendo coulda made a game with giant ancient monsters as bosses like in greek mythologies but it wouldn't match the style and design of this game. Honestly my favorite bosses are in Twilight Princess, they were more intimidating there.

I was so disappointed with this boss. The build-up was incredible and I was expecting this epic-looking monstrosity when I got outside and then I got... Tentalus. :| Don't get me wrong, the fight was fun and I enjoyed Skyward Sword a lot, but man did they ever drop the ball with this guy's design. I mean Nintendo already took inspiration from Disney's Peter Pan , they both wear green , both have small companion fairies and sometimes they both fight their shadows , so that is not a new thing that Nintendo took inspiration from Monster inc. for tentalus .
One thing that has always amazed me about Link, no matter how freaking huge the monster is even if it makes him look like a dwarf in comparison, he just draws that sword and stands his ground like a complete badass of course its obviously because he's the Hero of Legend and he has something to fight for (Zelda) but still it's always amazed me that these massive monsters never seem to phase him
I found it scary. To think this is how it all began. The world ravaged by otherworldly monsters when Ganon ruled the world and humans died and only few were saved from the Goddess until Link reclaim the land and becoming a King along with Zelda.

i get it! tentalus' name is based on the greek legend tantalus, who was cast into tartarus and forced to stand in a lake with fruit dangling above him, but he couldn't eat or drink.

Skyward Sword has some pretty bad bosses; not all of them, but Tentalus is definitely one. If he isn't sacked yet whoever thought it would be a great idea to introduce Cyclops-Medusa-Ursula and put her in this game really should be fired...I mean, really, come on!
IMO, this is one of the more underrated boss battles in the Zelda franchise. Sure, it is a bit disappointing with that buildup, but it’s honestly a little creepy to see, even if it looks like Celia from Monsters Inc. And the bow in SS specifically is my favorite weapon in all Zelda games (at least the Switch version. I never played the Wii version). And using it against this boss is really fun. The music and area is also really cool. And also, the bosses that are way bigger than a normal boss size feels cool. Overall, I agree that it could have been better, but at the same time, in my honest opinion, this fight ain’t bad either.

I never really thought much about it , but the weather is tempestuous meaning an huge area was affected by the time shift stones ( maybe the flame itself caused it) , you can look at horizon and see the whole map turned back into the past.
pretty cool boss, was definitely memorable for me when I think about this game, I loved the music during this fight, koloktos and tentulas are probably right up there for my favourite zelda bosses
