    Instead of using a cat why don't they dedicate one or two cylinders to recycling all or part of the exhaust gases? Or is that stupid as the intake air needs to be clean?
    Or they should pass the exhaust gases through a large cool chamber to separate unburnt fuel which upon cooling will change state and be recycled.

      +Gunzee too much egr makes the engine back fire because it messes up the oxygen mixture if you need to press on the accerator. Toyota made use of the spent gases in the Prius by using the hot egr to keep the coolant warm which increased efficiency of the engine in the 2010 and beyond. Gasoline engines are not efficient burning liquid gas because gasoline needs time to burn off so when you go down the road the converter is gobbling up the spent wet gasoline which isnt spent just wasted in a game of emissions and taxes. The engine really needs a dry heated gas vaporized to make 100 percent efficient. The ima system just cheats the middle man of the converter by running the engine dry and quickly switch back to wet fuel again.

    the video has a major flaw! at cylinder idling the valves are closed? sure about that? that makes it consume extra energy for the compression or decompression. those valves should be fully open rather than closed imho...

    • @typeRF20c
      @typeRF20c 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the intake valve is closed while the piston goes down, the cylinder relative pressure is negative, it helps the piston to go up. If you keep the valves open, you should have the throttle valve also open (to get the air free, as you said). So you fill the cylinders up, and it becomes hard to keep a good idle with the cylinder still active (too much acoustic in the intake manifold). Think that to oxydize the NOx,HC and CO, you must have the AFR at 14.7 to allows the catalyst converter to make its job. If you keep 3 cylinders to make an air flow, either suck up exhaust gas and fresh air, impossible to have a controlled air exhaust mix. (sorry for my english, i'm french...learning english :p )

      @ShabaaUkelele 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      well it made sense. thanx for the comment. this way it seems like the "fuel loss" on the extra job the closed valves causing is relaively less than the loss on everything else... fair enough

    not a true hybrid like a prius. My engine never shuts off even going downhiill or decelerating. On wikipedia it says motor starts assisting after 20 mph. Misleading information

      I have a question. Is the e-cvt transmission used in this new 2021 model 1.5 cc Honda Jazz/FIT exactly the same system as the e-cvt used in the 2019 model 1.8 cc Toyota Corolla sedan or is it a different system? The reason why I asked this was they said that the risk of deterioration of the e-cvt system used in Corolla is less than the normal CVT. Do you think we will have problems with the e-cvt gearbox if we buy Jazz?

    • @MrDaldagnuur
      @MrDaldagnuur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@attilakhan4606 honda n toyota use entirely different cvt system. Hondas ecvt is basically normal cvt connected to engine n electric motor via cluth. Where toyota e cvt is 2 electric motor connected to engine via sun gear. Toyota hybrid is much more reliable since there is no cvt belt n moving part. And its much more efficent hybrid system. Electric motor is much stronger than hondas will occasianly kick in u will get much better mpg.

    makes no sense, so what happens if i'm driving high way all day for 8 hours, how is it going to charge the battery? second of all if i'm just crusing on highway, since the motor isn't working how is that giving me more mpg vs my normal civic ?

    • @Shinobi117
      @Shinobi117 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont think you understand.
      The battery charges while you are cruising.
      The engine doesnt stop unless you are under 17 mph.
