Thank you for this idea. Lastnight I had all these odd scraps on my desk and I was busy putting them into a pile when I remembered this video. So I made lots of little scrap collages and put them in a basket. My desk is clean and I have these wonderful pieces of ephemera to use whenever I need or even send in happy mail. :)
I like all the neutrals you stick to; makes it cohesive and simple. I have four shallow but large baskets of scraps that are "sorted" (😂😂😂). When I pull them out to create with, I end up crying (on the inside) and putting them back on the shelf. I've named my creativity Elvis because he has left the building!
This video is a sanity saver. I've battled withmaking clusters to use up scraps in the past, trying to coordinate them so they are finished. Your style has given me new inspiration. Thank you for refilming it
Sadly for scrap making but happy for me is that I rarely have any scraps to work with. I always include an envelope full of scraps from making a journal into the journal itself. The recipient can use those scraps to further embellish the journal, use them for some other purpose, or toss them (it's on THEIR conscience - LOL!). I abandon all my handmade junk journals at Little Free Libraries and the Senior Center so I need to keep costs down from low to nothing.
@@dakielty I hadn't thought of them either until my daughter got a job at the county parks and recreation department. One of the rec centers she rotates through includes a Senior Center. They have a take-one/leave-one library there, so I consider it fair game - LOL!
Love these! Perfect way to make ordinary scraps into something extraordinary! Beautiful! Thank you so much for the inspiration and for sharing, take care x
Great idea to batch make clusters, of course with neutrals! And botanicals! Love your aesthetic! Will give it a go! I tend to make masterboards to bust scraps at the end of my projects... After cutting them up I run them under the sewing machine with black thread to add contrast and finish as tags, pages, journaling cards, etc. 🤗
Thank you so much for this video, you have turned a bad situation into a good one. I am so so proud of you. I love your creativity and don't miss a video since I have found you on TH-cam. Lots of hugs and love all the way from Windhoek, Namibia. xxx
I must do that this evening. Have just finished two birthday journals, and it's amazing what you pull out and then have to put away. I think I'll do this instead because I also need to build up things ready to use. Thank you for the inspiration.
Hi michele, i look all yout videos but in the last time i dont have so much time to comment ❤ every video from you are so nice and iam happy to watch it thank you so much
Thank you so very much for showing how to use paper scraps of which I have many crying out “use me, use me”. Your cards are are so genuinely handmade. I’ve practised some of your drawing teachings which I like and can use although mine have turned out a little “primitive”, but I keep trying. Thanks again.🌷
Thank you so much for going a little more in depth on how you embellish and use the base clusters you make! I always seem to get stuck at that point, so it was good see your ideas. Of course, you make everything look easier! I've missed the past week or so of videos and am trying to catch up now. I love watching you! (Does that sound like a stalker?) Let me rephrase that. I love watching you create journals and embellishments, and I really like watching you sketch and experiment with watercolors.
I do use scraps on things like clusters and bellybands. I live just using a junk mail catalog and gluing my scraps in to make a bunch of masterboards. I also teach some classes and I give bags of scraps to the students to use in their journals
Another really enjoyable video Michele! I use up lots of my scraps to collage pages in my journals as well as making clusters and combining them with dried flowers for feature pages. I made two of the concertina dried flower books that you made and I used scraps to cover and decorate the pages. Linda UK
Great ideas. Doing this also. Little scraps I put in a little bin and use the scraps. Now and then just go trough them and trow scraps away I don't like anymore, but most of it go's in journals at last. Looking for scraps with less colour now, Just in the mood for that now, although my compositionbooks full of collages are very colourful. Thanks and bye bye from Anjo 👋👋⚘
I've just started trying to use up whats on my table near the end of a project. I think its a great idea but I need some practice at it so I have a plan for what I'll use it for next. You're right you can get swamped in no time at all with saving scraps.
Love this! It is inspiring me to get my scraps reined in! THANKS!! I (sometimes) separate my scraps by neutrals/colors, by size/shape, and content (nature vs numbers, etc.).
I have some coloured scraps from previous projects. I find my mood and tastes will shift and I’ll go back to using colour for a while. I’m just strongly into natural right now 😊
@@thecreativecove6898 Thanx for letting me know - I buy Tracie's kits as well, as others, I just cant tell if you have painted a picture sometimes - you're so great!🌺
Yes it can be hard to use things that you love to keep and look at. I have a few pages I love that I won’t use but the rest I feel I can just glue together and make them extra special then I’m ready to let them go 😊
This will horrify y'all, but unless its a really special scrap, mine usually go into the wastebasket. But, not without a tiny bit of guilt! However, now, after this video, I may have to rethink. Not that I wasn't aware that many people save even the tiniest scrap and find a way to use it.
I find it so relaxing to work with scraps. It's also rewarding to use what I have. Thank you for the inspiration. 😊😊

That makes me so happy to hear. And the fun you will have revisiting the basket of goodies you have made 😊

I keep them in a shoe box and use them on pages, clusters, tags, or in masterboards. Nice to see your process!!

That’s a great way to say on top of scraps. I include some scraps in journals but I can’t resist glueing them. Lol😊
oh my I love this idea, abandoning junk journals! Sweet
I love this! I've never found anything like that in a Little Free Library. Maybe I should start a trend here!
I love this. I hadn’t thought about senior centers

Really enjoyed all the explanations. It really helped.
Thank you ❤

Hey I use my scraps much like you….and yes I have a ton and need to go thru the bin, I just dislike throwing them away 😊

How that’s wonderful to hear. I am sure you sketches are wonderful. Just keep at it you’ll see over time the progress you will make. ☺️
I could watch you all day gluing paper!!!! Crazy huh?
Aww thank you 😊

Working with paper makes me happy as well. 😊 Great idea to do some in stages. 💖💖💖

I to go through stages of neutrals and colours. I think it’s whatever the mood is to inspire us we just run with it😊

I find that helps a lot during the creative process 😊
These are so cute!
Thank you😊
❤
Yassssssss¡!! Let's Do This!!
😊
I use a glass or plastic jar with a handful of pebbles in the bottom....put the lid on your liquid glue and stand it upside down in the jar. 😊
That’s a fab idea. Thank you 😊
your scraps are a lot prettier than mine haha! I keep everything 😂
Haha. I feel the same way when I watch other TH-camrs 😊
Love all the neutral scraps - thanks for sharing (what do you do with colorful or theme scraps)
I have some coloured scraps from previous projects. I find my mood and tastes will shift and I’ll go back to using colour for a while. I’m just strongly into natural right now 😊
Love your clusters🥰 would love to know what digital kits you use - your own?
I have used my own, as well as Tracy fox of Etsy. Or I’ll have paper from a scrapbook pad but most of my stuff is from second hand books 😊
@@thecreativecove6898 Thanx for letting me know - I buy Tracie's kits as well, as others, I just cant tell if you have painted a picture sometimes - you're so great!🌺

I need to do this!! I have no effective method that’s the problem. Also, I’m a hoarder of my favorite things, that’s a problem

I know what you mean about using a lot of glue… I buy a case of glue sticks from Staples. My family worries about me 😂
