- Today I am demonstrating How to Tie Dye a tear drop mandala tapestry that is pretty pschyedelic and unique looking. This tear drop mandala tapestry is folded just like a regular 8 point mandala, and is very easy to create for yourself if you choose to follow along with this step by step tutorial. We go over the whole process from the folding and tying of the mandala, to the cutting off the kite string and revealing our new tie dye tapestry. I can’t say how much exactly you would need it really depends on the method you choose.

That's pretty cool. I can't wait, I get my dye's today. (Finally💕) I only got the primary colors, I'm going to try and mix them to get the secondary and tertiary, hopefully it'll work. I bought 3yrds of white cotton fabric to try one on, then I maybe I'll be able to sew the edge to make the tapestry. Wish me luck 🤞🙏🏼😃
You have definitely got this girl and I’m so excited for you. Just remember if you mix the dyes for ice dyes you’re going to end up with some pretty crazy colors because the dye powders are already mixed to make colors once hence the splits you get with ice dyeing. For liquid you’ll be fine though and they should be pretty close to the colors you’re going for. I can’t wait to see what you come up with and I’m here for you in you have any questions whatsoever!😊💕💜😁🥳
If it helps, I've found straight dish soap and an old face cloth gets pastels out of pretty much anything 😊 I think your work is so so amazing by the way!!

Is there any way I can make one of these designs with a rectangular material?
Hi and thank you for your question. Honestly it would be difficult because the folds need to be lined up evenly for the design to show through everywhere it’s supposed to be. You could however leave the excess out and make a square out of the rectangle, do your tying, and do something different with the extra. I do believe this would work. Hope this helps😊

Hi and thank you for your question. You definitely can but you will not get the marble effect that ice dyeing creates. The tapestry will look similar, just with the colors being more singular and not blending as much. Hope this helps😊

I like make some Ocean waves how can I make the white parts show up?
My recommendations would be to leave parts of the material white or Undyed, to use thick water dye on those white sections, and to soak the material in warm/hot water and Dawn dish soap for about a half hour, change the water and repeat before washing.
