I think it's dubbed. I agree the guitar is awesome but I thought it a little strange the camera next to never showed guitarist playing what I was hearing. Saw more of the singer playing air-bone then close-ups of actual shredding. Nice pink guitar. That's a confident hetero right there.
Don Johnson Doubt it's dubbed brother. It's more than likely a pure output from the Mixer with environmental ambiance from the crowd and the reverberation of the stadium eq'ed in, thats how alot of live albums and tv appearances are recorded :)

@e d : You need to branch out more, or learn to use a search function. There's more music out now than ever before, and plenty of incredible musicians. Yea, no one will ever sound like this, but that's as it should be. That doesn't even imply music today is all trash. I can't wait for singing to come back to metal, I was so bored with the cookie monster thing even before this album came out, but the good stuff is out there still.
The King is great, no doubt, but his wife sings alongside him word for word along with two vocal techs with huge racks of equipment. I could sound almost as good. Takes nothing from him though. He rules.
@@CyTolliver No, no, no! This is NOT a studio recording. I've been listening to King since his days with Merciful Fate back in 1985. I'm also a guitarist who can play everything on "Them" and can assure you that this is no lip syncing. It's a poor quality video, that's why the sound/video doesn't match up. Poorly produced, and arranged, obviously. Listen to the first solo starting at 0:18 played by Andy Laroque. You only hear ONE guitar, where as on the studio, it's two guitars playing different melodies, or an overdub on top of the first. Not possible to do when live.
@@GJones462-2W1 poor quality video doesn't explain the seemingly constant lack of sync between the drums and what the drummer is doing...he's playing a beat on the ride and and snare but in the video clip he's doing a fill around the toms or a cymbal crash...Plenty of bands polish up live recordings. I hear layered guitar tracks...I'm a session musician and have been my whole life, that's irrelevant tho, anyone with ears and eyeballs can tell this video doesn't match the audio.

Artie Anderson sundance in bay shore. Great show. Except king diamond had trouble lighting his flash of fire in his skull. He tried 3 times before it worked. He looked stupid and should have stopped after the first attempt. Still a great show!
I saw KD at L'amours in Brooklyn NY in 87 I believe, was a great place to see all the greats young and hungry and they blew the top off that place.I remember the guys from Anthrax and Overkill standing their with their jaws dropped. Must have been thinking this was a game changer.
What I really like about this video The Invisible guest is the way King plays the hell out of that leg bone I know for fact that he can play guitar and bass guitar and drums keyboards and organ I just wonder how many other instruments he can play the man is truly a genius and he can sing his ass off
Jeff! This may be only chance to ask the man himself. Who did the cassette cover artwork for the Death Metal Demo in 1984?? Wishing you all the best, a fan from Indiana.
Oh fuck... his signature bone cross is an entire leg!!!!! I love this unholy ghoulish King. Simultaneously indulging the ridiculous and being totally serious. A metal MASTER!
You know when a vocalist is amazing when they can replicate or do an even better performance than the studio recorded version on a live stage, King Diamond is one of those 😊 also why the hell weren't the solos shown? stupid cameraman >_
King Diamond has always been one of the most Hard and strong in believing what he expreses in his music.. Even today he remains true to himself and his music.. No matter if its mercyful or king.. I feel fully identified with what he thinks about society and his beliefs.. Hail to the King!!
I know your comment is 2 years old, but I just found it. King. The Dark Shakespeare. You nailed it bro. Ican't think of a better way to say it. He is metal's dark story teller. Well done.
I called the king King Diamond the night at the satanic Opera you can't get nothing better if you go to one of his shows you will definitely get your money's worth he's awesome I seen him with Mercyful Fate and he was fucking awesome I got to shake his hand like three or four times awesome performer great Showmanship not like Hank he just walks off the stage along with the drummer of Mercyful Fate a couple of assholes when Mike weed D'Angelo and Diamond stayed on stage shaking hands slapping hands they're just all around good guys with great Showmanship King is awesome Hank sucks balls he's got an attitude problem and the drummer that night I don't know too much about him but he had piss-poor Showmanship to walk off the fucking stage assholes
DarkFoX750 King Diamond is my personal favorite Heavy Metal singer and artist. He brings a very unique aspect of singing into Metal. He uses a wide variety of tones, has a four and a half octave vocal range (even more than Rob Halford) and can change registers on command. That is extremely hard to do, while singing in key at the same time. His counter tenor range (falsetto) is very unique sounding. Very similar to a classically trained singer. He uses a reinforced falsetto, where he pushes a false note into the head register which makes the note more crisp and powerful. He is using his nose to shape the tone and pitch. Very unique sound for metal. His style of falsetto is more commonly heard in Sistine Chapel choirs and R&B music. In fact, KD uses the same falsetto technique as the Gibbs brothers from the Bee Gees as well as Frankie Vallie of the Four Seasons :D
King Diamond fucking rules man that is some more awesome concert footage live shows you exactly one hundred percent how good King time it is in concert I seen it with merciful fate and it was fuckingawesome

Actually only 4 octave range. Axl Rose has the largest vocal range in rock. I know you said metal but still. Corey Taylor from Slipknot also has a 5 octave range as does Axl, but Axl can hit notes higher then Corey.
David L You gotta be kidding me, literally no one supports your claim. Even people that don't like King Diamond give him credit for his range. Axle Rose was good, but can't compare to King Diamond. King Diamond would blow Axle off the stage. I saw him last summer and he still has all his power and range. Axle Rose hasn't been a good singer in over 20 years. I loved GnR in their day BTW, but I gotta call em like I see em.
