Good to hear from you. I've missed you. But I understand more than you know about how life gets in the way of doing videos. This is one recipe that I must try. Thanks so much for sharing. Take care.
my gramma always made these too and they were my favorite, so I always helped her (she used up night before's mashed potatoes in the mix, with the egg;) God Bless and keep em coming😆
Thanks for this recipe. I used to eat salmon croquettes at a restaurant in Ft. Worth when we lived there and they were so good. I've never found a recipe that tasted as good but these sound delicious. I am definitely going to try them. So glad your back. I've missed you and Prepper.
what a great forgotten recipe for many folks out there ! these look wonderful katz . SO GLAD UR BACK AND HOPE TO SEE MORE OF UR VIDEOS VERY SOON !!!!!!!!!! you where very much missed !! 2 thumbs up . have a great week .hey there prepper A , sounds like you really grew up some . love you 2 doing videos , keep um coming . ty both again.
They look delicious! You are the best teacher. My mother had a set of bowls like that. She had plans to be a home ec. teacher, then met my dad, & married @ 16. She didn't go back to school afterwards. Thank you so much for all your fabulous videos.
Although I've been an early childhood educator since the dark ages, my original degree is in Home Economics. I love those old bowls. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video as always. I haven't made Croquettes in years and now I have to because yours looked so yummy and reminded me of what I've been missing. Thank you
I know if I would have had it like this when I was young I would have eaten it up...lol..sadly I didn't hopefully I can try again with your method and recipe thank you!!!!!😀
I am so very happy to see you. I have been watching older videos waiting for you to come back with your easy everyday food recipes that I remember as a child but my grandmother didn't leave the recipes for. love you!
It's so good to see you back and I hope you'll post a lot more often! I never thought to use baking powder in the broth. Great idea. Thanks for sharing Kat.......Linda
I love your vids. And, the #1 thing I like most is the level of detail you put in your vids. You never leave out pertinent information or steps. Thank you, and keep up the great work.
This looks WONDERFUL and I'm going to try it real soon. I've loved every recipe of yours I've tried. I keep looking for more videos. I hope you and yours are ok. Blessings! 😇
ok I think I'll have this this week....next a garden update:)) Are you still doing back to eden garden? A garden to plate video would be good too:)) Love your video's!!
I'm excited to hear you again WOOT ! And thank you for the recipe, I have oodles of canned salmon. Haven't liked to many recipes for it .Will try this one. Hope to see you soon take care :)
I just made these tonight for dinner. Fantastic ! The crispiness is light and airy sort of like a tempura. The inside is creamy, and they don't have that dense dry fishiness to them that every salmon patty recipe , I have tried has. This will be a mainstay in my families recipe box. Thank you so much, had a lovely Sunday dinner
Brings back memories cause my mother made these a lot. She didn't use baking powder so I'll try them your way. I have quite a few cans of salmon to use. some of us in the family like this kind of cooking.
If you don't have a can opener, you can scrape the top on some concrete until the metal gives way. Not the nicest but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do (shtf kinda things). Thank you so much for sharing this vid!
So glad you have found time to do some videos my friend. This was timely as I needed something to make for dinner! Made them and they were very good. I even took a picture it turned out so good! My salmon wasn't quite as old as yours but it was supposed to "expire" on 9/13 but all was good. thanks for a new keeper.
Much, much easier to make than my old family recipe! I've made it a point to make twice a year as my family loves them but between all the mixing and then rolling in bread crumbs before frying, much more work than I cared to do. Thanks for a recipe I am looking forward to trying out this week! Trying to get us up to 3 fish meals a week but I'm not a big fan of fish so it limits our recipes.
My mom always served these with cheese sauce (made with Velveeta). To make them lower calorie, I bake these, but I smoosh them down thin with a fork so they get crispy. (When I mix it up, I also leave the bones in and smash them with a fork. They break up and you never notice them.) Thanks for the video!!
when my Gma made salmon croquettes it was usually a case of cans but there was always a huge crowd at the shore house to help and she deep fried them in the outside kitchen the recipe is very similar to yours except the juice and baking powder, that is intriguing. We made them about extra large egg size and shape. The main change I made other than the amount is I bake them in a 350 oven until golden..
First let me say thank you both for taking any time that you have to make a video for us. It is very very good of you and Prepper A to do this and take time out of your day to make this video. Next, WOW I have been making Salmon Croquettes for a long time and never did the Baking Powder in the recipe. We are going to make these for supper tonight! If they taste half as good as they look then we are going to love them. Take care and we will look forward to any new goodies that you are willing to share...Huggs Tn Provisioner
Oh my, we did them today for supper, and all I can say is yummmmmm. Thank you so much for showing us this recipe. Not only is this good, but its a way to use some of the long term food storage! You are too good to us! Will be waiting for whenever you can do another video...Thanks again you guys...
Tenn Provisioner Wow! You just made me so happy. This is why I make videos. I want to improve the quality of your life..if it's only with a great recipe. Thanks for letting me know you tried the croquettes and that you liked them.
I use the exact same recipe. I always thought something was missing. One day while making this I looked out my window to my herb garden and saw the parsley. A lightbulb went off; I picked about a small amount, about 1 tablespoon chopped and added it to the mix. Now that is the only way I will make them. If I don't have fresh I will use dried parsley. And we are the same; this is the only thing I will fry.
Thank you for a fabulous recipe! My Mom used to make it too and would always tell me that "back in the day" she bought a big can of sockeye tun for 5 cents.
katzcradul I confess your broccoli salad is still my very favorite recipe, however all your recipes are spot on. I have recently given up sugar and starches that convert to sugar, so this salmon recipe along with the salad fit my bill perfectly.. So delighted you are back! Thanks so much.
Both of you work very good today I was almost about ready to throw out some salmon thank you so much! You help me save from wasting food! Sure glad I didn't throw out the the many cans of salmon!
I really love your videos. As a matter of fact, I have most of them downloaded and stored on an external drive along with a few other preppers. As to your actually being back, well excuse me for being a pessimist but I've heard this before. After you stopped doing videos about 2 years ago, you turned up after a year and declared you were back. You made 4 videos and then dropped out again. Since then you've done one video every 4 months till now. I certainly hope you are back as there are not to many of the original preppers still posting here but I'll wait to see for myself before I get my hopes up. Cheers.
laserguy, sometimes life gets in the way, and we can't always do the things we plan. I have no doubt that this dear lady will do as much as she can. Be grateful for all the wonderful videos she has already done and pray that all is well with her so if she chooses to, there will be more in the future.
What oil did you use Kat? I've just started to use organic lard, have seen that is is much better for you than all of the other processed oils. What do you think? Glad to see your filming again, you've helped me so much since I started prepping in 2012.
ok CONFESSION WE EAT THE BONES from the canned salmon anyway. my husband makes them uses saltine crackers, pepper, maybe more salt, egg and THAT'S IT. Its great and i never know those icky bits are in there lol. Your entire dinner sounds great.💜
You did it again! I have never seen the baking powder in the salmon liquid trick!…Brilliant!…and those home grown tomatoes are to die for! I always make mac-n-cheese when I make salmon patties, such a good flavor combination! I like a little Worchestershire sauce either on the salmon or even added into the mix before cooking.....Question: they package salmon in ‘pouches’ now as well as cans. Do you think the shelf life will be just as good?
The shelf life should be just as good however, the packaging is not punture proof. If you were going to store it long term, I'd protect it, like perhaps putting the salmon packets and other similar packets in one of those plastic, see-through shoe boxes. They don't cost more than about a dollar and they'd be good insurance. Thanks for the great comment!
Great to see your hands again!! First vid I've caught from you in awhile! Looked great! Hope you've been well! Sounds like Prepper A has been doing some growing!! I'm Jason from the 1952Jeep channel btw. Decided to change my "handle"! LOL! Take care!
Wow it's a long time since I watched you regularly. I herd some one mention your name in a completely unexpected place recently so I came over to see if you had come back. Just saying Hi and hope you all are well and happy. Even though I'm Australian, you remind me of my mother, I doubt I can even

Sorry, Elizabeth. Prepper A both shoot and loads my videos and forgot to put the link. You can now find it in the show more section below the video. I apologize for any inconvenience.
I'm here! Trying to get ready for a big retirement move...working on remodeling a home in Texas for the last three years. It's been exhausting and almost all I can handle.
katzcradul so glad you are here! I live In Amarillo but I'm sure you will be east of here. No one with a choice moves here! Lol. Prepper A SOUNDS GROWN UP! Good luck with all your plans.

Ya! Another great video from Katz! These look delicious. I hope you will share your tarter sauce recipe too! So good to hear your sweet voice.
Sure! I put that on my list of 'videos to make'. I love great tartar sauce.

My mother made these, and always served them with Macaroni and cheese also :-)
Brings back so many memories AND you used that beautiful Pyrex dish to make it. 😊
I use the exact same recipe. I always thought something was missing. One day while making this I looked out my window to my herb garden and saw the parsley. I forgot. I always put a little fresh ground pepper in the mix, too.
I hope you don't mind me sharing YOUR recipes SO others might follow YOU because you are awesome and amazing and smart and talented and creative
This is going to be one of our favorites soon. Thank You. I have some home canned salmon I will be using... YUMMMMMM>
Thank you for a fabulous recipe! My Mom used to make it too and would always tell me that "back in the day" she bought a big can of sockeye tun for 5 cents.
Just made them, and they're delish! Thanks!!!
Hey, Judith! Thanks for letting me know that you tried them...and that you liked them. Awesome!
katzcradul I confess your broccoli salad is still my very favorite recipe, however all your recipes are spot on. I have recently given up sugar and starches that convert to sugar, so this salmon recipe along with the salad fit my bill perfectly.. So delighted you are back! Thanks so much.

Most canned food is good for MANY years. I'm glad you didn't throw out your salmon!
glad I found your channel again. I subscribed to you for yrs under a different email. keep up the videos !
Thanks for continuing to watch. I really appreciate it.
I really miss your videos. :-)
Thanks for missing me...but I'm back!
+katzcradul woohoo! Missed you!
I"m posting again. Thanks for watching.
I REALLY miss your videos!!!
YOU have a AWESOME PERSONALITY
I'm so excited for this one! Thank goodness I found you!!!
I'm so glad you found my channel! Welcome Car Zie!
LOL!
Take care!
Hey Jason! Good to hear from you. You're so right! Prepper A sure has been growing!
Awesome recipe! I made ours with left over poor man's lobster and they were so yummy!
It's been so long, Pepper A sounds so grown up!
OH my!!!!! These are awesome, even the kids loved them. However they insist we call them fish balls. :)
I LOVE that!
how are you in the family? I hope all is well.
We're awesome!
Katzcradul So wonderful!
Can you please post a mac n cheese video? I've made your biscuit and enchilada recipe and it is amazing!
Thanks for trying my recipes! I'm so glad you liked them. I'll put mac and cheese on my very LONG list of videos to make. Thanks for asking.
Wow it's a long time since I watched you regularly. I herd some one mention your name in a completely unexpected place recently so I came over to see if you had come back. Just saying Hi and hope you all are well and happy. Even though I'm Australian, you remind me of my mother, I doubt I can even
say how, but how practical and down to earth you are and you inspire confidence by just getting on and cooking without making it sound overly complicated. Just like my mother does. Any way my mother used to make what we used to call fish cakes. It was similar to this recipe but it had mashed potatoe

cans are meant to last 25 years at least.
