Country Echoes, I was mortified when I saw that this video was going to run over 25 minutes long. In fact, I was really upset. My huband quieted my fears and told me that all the information was useful and would help people who had never made jalapeno poppers be successful in making this recipe. The striations on the jalapeno peppers actually mean they're hotter. And I use a teaspoon to get all the seeds and ribs out of the peppers. It works so easy!

Fantastic job with video and recipe. I have been using bits and methods of others to combine itto a Popper with substance and you just hit the ball out of the park for me. I have a good Shrimp recipe that is similar and I like it. I assemble my poppers and freeze them 3 0r 4 together. Great job, thanks

Katz I did make these for our family gathering yesterday. I doubled the recipe but didn't use any meat at all because the last time I made them, I noticed that there wasn't much flavor imparted from the meat. There is so much other flavors in this recipe and they were a huge success yesterday. Altho I doubled the recipe and filled a huge bag of jalapeno's , they're nearly all gone..lol I was hoping to have some for a good lunch today with soup but no problem, I'm just glad everyone loved them so much. I will be making these again and again, I'm sure.

I especially like the 'bite' that meat adds to my poppers and it makes them substantial enough to serve as the centerpiece of my meal. But hey, if you like it just as well without, go for it! I'm just thrilled your family loves them. I think one of the things that really sets this popper apart is the stabilizing effect of the bread crumbs. They really serve to make the filling managable when filling the peppers and the filling stays in place rather than oozing out like lots of other popper fillings tend to do. What brand of knife are you using to cut the jalapenos? I have one similar but smaller and it's from Cutco. Cutco knives are amazing. Forever warranty and sharpening.
I don't know. I checked today and it doesn't have a name on it. It's serrated so I don't know how it could be sharpened. My husband gave t to me as a gift. I thought I'd hate it, but I love it!
I have a few late season jalapenos left, I'll have to try this next weekend when my granddaughter comes over. I always love your videos, they are always so good.

These were on my list to make as appetizers for Thanksgiving! Thank you for the amazing recipe. Your flowered dish is the same set I inherited from my grandparents. Don’t see it very often, and I love them. So very glad you are back on you tube. Missed you!
That dish is so old. I moved into a very old house more than 30 years ago and were two things that had been left behind. One was this dish and the other was an old wood framed hand mirror. I still have them both and treasure them. They remind me of all the love and care I put into to restoring that old house. I especially love the yellow platter because when I was growing up, my mother had two little custard cups in the same pattern. When she would make a batch of egg custard, she'd pour it into 5 of 6 mismatched custard cups. When the custard was chilled and ready to eat, I'd always try to get one of the little yellow cups, I thought they were so pretty. Imagine my delight when I opened an old rickety cabinet in my 'new' home and saw that beautiful yellow platter sitting there. My heart leapt with joy. Thank you so much for watching and for mentioning my beloved platter.

Also when you take the ribs out you are taking the sacks attached along the ribs that contain the capsaicin. People think its the seeds but it not most capsaicin is the tiny sacks attached to the white ribs of the peppers.

My granddad stuffed cherry peppers with hot Italian sausage, I stuff whole jalapenos and habanaros with a hot sausage and cheese mix that's heavier on the meat then pan fry or bake without breading. I call the jalapeno ones reindeer balls and the habanaro ones devil's oysters
So great to "see" you again!! These poppers look so delish! Most of all, I luv your thoroughness in explaining all the details of a recipe/process. And I have to say, I have found a kindred spirit in the washing of the sausage package!! I would have done the same; my family laughs at me and I know they think I am strange when I wash things. I even scrub the outside of all fruit and veg using a vegetable brush and dish soup (then thoroughly rinse) before I eat/cut into/or peel them so as not to introduce contamination. These were on my list to make as appetizers for Thanksgiving! Thank you for the amazing recipe. Your flowered dish is the same set I inherited from my grandparents. Don’t see it very often, and I love them. So very glad you are back on you tube. Missed you!
That dish is so old. I moved into a very old house more than 30 years ago and were two things that had been left behind. One was this dish and the other was an old wood framed hand mirror. I still have them both and treasure them. They remind me of all the love and care I put into to restoring that old house. I especially love the yellow platter because when I was growing up, my mother had two little custard cups in the same pattern. When she would make a batch of egg custard, she'd pour it into 5 of 6 mismatched custard cups. When the custard was chilled and ready to eat, I'd always try to get one of the little yellow cups, I thought they were so pretty. Imagine my delight when I opened an old rickety cabinet in my 'new' home and saw that beautiful yellow platter sitting there. My heart leapt with joy. Thank you so much for watching and for mentioning my beloved platter.

Also when you take the ribs out you are taking the sacks attached along the ribs that contain the capsaicin. People think its the seeds but it not most capsaicin is the tiny sacks attached to the white ribs of the peppers.

My granddad stuffed cherry peppers with hot Italian sausage, I stuff whole jalapenos and habanaros with a hot sausage and cheese mix that's heavier on the meat then pan fry or bake without breading. I call the jalapeno ones reindeer balls and the habanaro ones devil's oysters

So great to "see" you again!! These poppers look so delish! Most of all, I luv your thoroughness in explaining all the details of a recipe/process. And I have to say, I have found a kindred spirit in the washing of the sausage package!! I would have done the same; my family laughs at me and I know they think I am strange when I wash things. I even scrub the outside of all fruit and veg using a vegetable brush and dish soup (then thoroughly rinse) before I eat/cut into/or peel them so as not to introduce contamination.
