Strike king lures are super popular here. They use those mini cranks for crappie and big sunfish also perch. Nice to have small rivers with wild trout in them all the trout caught around here are stocked by the state.
great informative vid. What snap link are you using plz????? (I've been having trouble finding one that does not interfere with the movement of the lure) Looking forward to part 2, thanks.
only watched 1st minute so far but i have to say i have the oposite results lol, all my trout have been on little jigs. 3-5g jighead and a 5cm natural coloured paddle tail lure. i think half of the problem i have with hard lures is finding the right place to use them.
Get some rapala original floating (shallow water) and countdown (deeper water) in brown trout colour and fish them down and across (salmon style) as slow as possible let the current do the work trout are territorial and will attack the lure to get it out of its feeding zone and you can experiment from there you will catch them casting upstream too
The beauty of lure fishing. So many ways to do it. If it works for you keep at it pal. Good to have options though, i always have softies too (just don't really use them) and likewise having a few cranks in your box is a great option.
Really enjoying the trout video's, especially the deep dark Urban one's with the new Lad's Sam and Karol. Congratulations to Sam on his 27lb Pike, I hope that there is some Vidoe footage. All the Best Paul.
cheers pal good to hear. I think Sam obviously picked up some tips while he was with us and it paid off for him! lol No footage on that they were out without us. (we did get an invite but we were working)
I gave up using braid didn't like it at all for ul trout fishing I now use trout gold gtr mono at 3lb 0.14mm and a very light flurocarbon leader at 2lb 0.12mm lure wise can't fault duo spearhead ryuki Smith d contact and compact pontoon 21 cheerful and greedy guts 45mm suspended. Paul try soft plastic imatation fly and grub type lures and see what happens with that anything like Berkley nymph or honey worm are fantastic lures for trout a very light jig head anything from 0.3g to 1g is perfect as you don't want to overload the lure you want a natural presentation on them have you tryed micro spoons like yarie,sv or spro there also excellent lures for trout 👍
cheers David. No not tried most of those. So many lures out there is ace. We only do a bit of trout fishing to pass on a few weeks while the rivers are closed here so I never get too serious about it, so usually just use any old perch rod. good advice though pal i'm sure someone reading might take some tips.
Loving the trout vids missed you boys :)

When did you film this as its still the closed season
You can target trout on lures at this time of year in Yorkshire on rivers
aaron oakley Trout season is different to course fishing and can vary from river to river but usually between March and September
Get your rod out
+aaron oakley Closed season? Do you live in Auz or somewhere in the southern hemisphere?
No, chuffing England! lol
