- The Prince of Wales attended the wedding of the Duke of Westminster where he also acted as an usher. Hugh Grosvenor, the godfather to William's son, Prince George, married bride Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral and walked out to thousands of well-wishers lining the streets.
Prince William and Princess Eugenie were one of the few other royals attending the event. Report by Louis Etemadi.

I agree! Unfortunately there is often a strong breeze that flows down St Werburgh Street from the Northgate, the long veil would be difficult to manage this morning. They make a beautiful couple and it was wonderful to see the Prince of Wales!

What an elegant bride. The dress is simple but stunning. And what a difference a well fitted gown makes.
So true. I couldn’t help but think of another bride, one who tried ‘simple, clean lines’ but just looked rumpled and messy. This gown and veil is stunning, if the wind hadn’t been blowing so hard we would have gotten the Look the wedding photographer had wanted but in the end we were able to get a better look at the dress. I thought it was so charming how the bride handled almost being carried away by the wind. They looked elegant.

William is definitely to the Manor Born. A real gentleman. Without hogging the limelight from the lovely bridal pair, he still made his presence felt after they left, acknowledging his fans humbly and unobtrusively getting into the van with everyone else, with no fuss or a cohort of security. A great credit to his father and the rest of the family. May God keep you safe.

The crowd were absolutely fantastic. Muted cheering for a couple who seem to value privacy. They cheered anyone wearing wedding clothes to make everyone feel pretty, and make it less about the royals. I dislike keyhole backs, but apart from this purely personal gripe the bride looked absolutely stunning and the groom very dapper. They both looked extremely happy which is the main thing. I am so glad the Californians did not show up and ruin their special day!

It’s always most enjoyable to see these picture snippets of these weddings, the beautiful bride and her gorgeous dress, her handsome groom the wedding group etc, it’s just a small peek into this way of life. In a much smaller way, when i was growing up, whenever a bride left her family home ( in those days brides still lived at home up until their marriage and much time, happiness and expense was spent on her wedding dress etc) all well wishing neighbours, would gather around the brides parents’ front gate area and often also after the Church after ceremony, to wish the bride and groom a very happy married life to come. A much much smaller gathering than a royal wedding send off, for sure, only seen by a small group of relatives, friends and neighbours, but still the memories for the ‘commoner’ bride, I’m sure are still as wonderful, as those of a royal wedding about her special Bride’s Day. Both types of weddings, a happy day for all.
