    That's what i like about skateboarding the most. Pushing yourself and building up confidence to do something you originally thought was impossible. Then taking that confidence and applying it to all aspects of your life. Great video!

    Man, such a good tutorial! Am almost at same stage as Izzy, and have searched for just this sort of tute for weeks. So good to see the nitty gritty of each of the stages, and seeing a beginner actually going through it, rather than an expert who can do it second nature, which can be hard to relate to.
    Keep up the good work!

    I really like the banter between you and Izzy. This is how lessons go: the teacher being ambitious in the goals for the session and the student thinking no way, but I will try. Your care to highlight the nano details in telling and showing us makes it an excellent tutorial! Izzy is an ideal student explaining her fears and doubts, like she can read our minds. Her learning mistakes in execution immediately clarified by you makes this video all the more a complete manual for us who are at this level. So thank you, JB and Izzy for this!

    Awesome Job Izzy and you are an awesome trainer. Your videos are really the best motivations for me. My friends keep telling me that I want to learn it the wrong way, because I'm to scared. But I'm already 30 and falls hurt way more than if I was 15. My thought was to learn it like you teach Izzy in that video and it is so satisfying that she did it. That means, that I can do it as well and that my way of thinking is absolutely not wrong. Thank you so much for your tutorials. You are literally the best teacher I watched and I searched for many, many videos over the year. That's for sure!

    Learned how to pump and keep my speed and I did this drill today lifting up on the front truck and tail in transitional felt great. I think when my leg heals I got this rock to fakie. Felt so good to pump and not lose speed was riding a 5 ft up to the coping but not going over. That lifting up in transition like I’m going over and the tail workout really help me grasp how to not be scared lifting in transition. Great day of skating man. Thanks a lot this video helped a ton👍👍👍 Awesome advice man!!! Been watching every video of yours

    Been watching a few of the other tutorials and I like them all a lot. I love how you cover every aspect of a trick and how to bail safely if either you aren't feeling it or something happens like your wheels get caught. I feel that is super important since I see people just fall in the worse ways. Been lucky my three months so far have just been me falling on my ass while doing for some reason anything involving doing a manual stance (like kick turning or just popping my board to get the muscle memory of it lol). But I do like knowing how to fall properly.
    Gonna hopefully have a Friday free this week where I can finally go to a skate park near my area that won't potentially be packed. Will probably just practice dropping down banks and pumping up a ramp. Been wanting to add a bit more stuff to learn while I work on getting my ollies down and moving ones.
    Also love how you say only 3K people will see this, it's actually 37K now 🤣

  •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, very inspiring to watch Izzy "just do it" at the end! J.B. can you please explain what happens on the Rock to Fakie side? You pump up, and kind of go into a manual by lifting your front foot. When should you extend your front leg so that the front wheels touch the deck? Is it while you're still in your upward pump and the board is still rolling up the ramp? And how do you get out of the stalled position and go into your downward pump?

    • @Betortitas89
      @Betortitas89 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not JB, but maybe can help. You lift up the front while still going up so that the wheel just graces the coping and reduce the risk of hitting the coping while rolling up. You don't need to extend the front leg that much as you just need to put pressure for the board to go past the coping, depending on how high are you, the board will find the angle on its own. To get out, lift pressure of the right foot and gravity will push the wheels above the coping going down.
      Easy to say harder to do, I'm still stuck on this but theory is there.

    Amazing video!
    Currently I can drop in, rock to Fakie, tail stall, switch rock. What is the proper next step? I'm trying rock n roll and axle stall but not making good progress on them.

    Hey JB thanks for the great tutorial. I tried this in the park today and finding it hard to keep momentum up as I pump after two pumps I end up slowing down a lot. How can I keep reaching the same height each time without decelerating? Thanks

    My friends advice to me was just "your going so fast just roll over the coping". I hung up twice. Thats when i realized theres some more mechanics to it 😑

    As someone learning this currently, its nearly impossible to watch this without gently leaning left and right in my chair and squeezing buttcheeks as if i'm doing the pumping too. 😅
