19 years old and I work at a grain elevator, and with harvest coming up I’m gonna get a lot of overtime. 100-120 hour work week. I plan on using that money towards a motorcycle. Plan on getting a 650 ninja. Any advice you’d give to a new rider? I haven’t had any experience at all.
I’d say if you haven’t already I would definitely take the MSF course; it’s the easiest way to get your license and also pick up some great skills to get comfortable on a bike before purchasing your 650. After that it’s all about practice, make sure to spend an ample amount of time riding around your neighborhood and in parking lots practicing maneuvers before hitting the streets. I learned most of my stuff through TH-cam videos, they help out a lot. Good luck and be safe out there :)
I love this bike ! Is this good for a beginner? I want to skip all this California traffic because my job is a hour an half away and thats not including tradfic.
I would recommend starting on something smaller like a Ninja 400, Yamaha R3, or even the new ZX4RR (a little pricey tho) if you’ve taken the MSF course.

A brand new one will run you about $11,500 (without taxes and fees). I would definitely go used tho, you can pick up a low mileage one fairly cheap between $5000-$7000 if you look around. Thanks for watching!
