    Thank you for sharing.
    It seems that the LED are connected in Parallel, hence LED Strip can be cut for shorter length.
    Voltage need not Change but how about Current?
    Will Current need to be increased to meet longer LED Strip?
    I have a 5V 1A adapter for the USB

    use ohms laws to determine. Your working with 5 volt DC so you just use those formulas. Paying attention to current( i ) . Some chargers (laptop blocks) go as high as i=3.64 (likely a apple laptop re block) while most are i=0.8 or i= 1.0 A being standard..
    Some of the questions being asked here, (MOST) tell me you should not be playing with pwr supplys. The blocks that come with usb led kits like monster are not the same as cell blocks. they have much more wattage, which one could say, is a measure of current and voltaGE potential. 5v at 0.8a is not the same as 5v at 2A. The latter can be up to almost 3 times more in capability.

      But it "should" be red + green -

    • @mattsnow3357
      @mattsnow3357 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you just hooked power up to one or more of those primary colors Blue, Red, Green then it would only shine that color at full brightness. You could also power multiple colors with a short length of jumper wire to make secondary colors, or all 3 for white light. To have full control of your multi-colored lights, you would need a controller, or a computer that sends variable signal strength to tell the 3 colors how bright to shine at the same time to produce the full rainbow.

    This method is not proof as some led strips' driving voltage can be 8V or greater. So in short the minimum voltage to be given is 8V, otherwise, the circuit may not operate. This method is applicable when the driving voltage is 5V or less.

      Hi! Yes. It depends on the current consumption of your led strip. An average usb can handle around 500-1000 mA (for example a tv usb if it is not a special power port maybe only 500mA). But if you use a powerbrick it can handle from 1A to 3A or more. But you need to look at the datasheet on the brick.
