The rich kids in my school had down to earth parents. Farmers mostly, so they knew the value of hard work and money. They valued what they had.

That's not Rich Kid Syndrome rich, dude. That's. Just rich. The *wealthy,* the ones with generational wealth they didn't have to earn, are the ones who are nuts.

My biggest concern is how we are going to survive all these financial and political crises, especially the power struggle in the US. The government has really made things difficult for its citizens and we cannot just sit by and suffer the consequences of bad governance🙏…

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $21k passively by just going into crypto investment, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So l really don't blame people who panic.

Have a little cousin who's not necessarily rich but his family is much more well off than mine. His parents always buy him the newest Nintendo games and always asks me if I also get the newest games and is always genuinely surprised that I didn't get them. It doesnt really bother me since the kid is 9 and doesn't really understand the situation of low budgets and poor finances.

One rich kid thing that still baffles me to this day happened in middle school. My district varied from all backgrounds and social classes, from Title 1 kids on free & reduced lunch, to kids who went home to butlers and maids (the district has like 56 schools in total)
I went to SFT which is what got called “the ghetto school” (which makes no sense bc it’s in suburban Kansas) because we had the most free & reduced lunch kids. On the other hand, one of the newer middle schools (at the time) was MT, which was in a very affluent neighborhood, like $450k houses affluent. And while they weren’t extremely rich by any means, they still were known for being spoiled brats.
Now I did hear this story second hand bc I didn’t really go to sports games.
But apparently our (SFT) girls basketball team had an away game at MT. And at some point during the game, a group of MT kids decided to do a “prank”. At lunch they all gathered numerous ketchup packets at lunch and then threw them at our team whilst yelling “go feed your children!!!” (Again this was middle school so everyone was like wtf does that mean🤨)
That group of kids earned the entire school an assembly on being respectful to others no matter their situations, so the rest of the school was not happy with these dunces. And at SFT we just got a bizarre story out of it all…
    Middle school was weird man…

7:44 the answer is simple, her parents are rich enough that it doesnt matter if she does shit in school, she'll never have to work, her parents will pay for her college, probably get her into a very prestigious one too with a generous donation. Rich people live in an entirely separate reality.

My first college roommate was a spoiled brat. I had moved halfway across the country (Kansas to Las Vegas) and I got an allowance of like $100 every two weeks. She came from an affluent part of California where her mom was some sort of insurance executive, so she had a lot of money.
So she would be getting ridiculous allowances like $1000 a week that she would blow through in two or three days and then she would call her parents claiming she didn’t have enough money and a few times they gave her more but most of the time she ended up crying to her grandma about it and grandma would send another $1000 without a second thought. It was mind blowing to me.
But she was super bratty, she refused to drive and pretty much turned me into her personal chauffeur (I would sometimes take my sleeping meds early so I had an excuse to not drive her, where she would try to beg me to still do it but I told her I wasn’t risking a DUI because of her.) When I did drive her she would beg me to take her to fast food places and would explicitly tell me to not order food on her card. So I’d be driving her halfway across town, just hoping I get back to campus in time to eat at the dining hall while she ate a feast in my passenger seat (which I had to remind her to clean up her trash).
She would stay up late video chatting with like 4 or 5 different guys that she told them all they were her “one and only” and she would get mad and loud if they stopped paying attention to her for a few seconds. And I would be in my bed tent with pillows over my ears and still could hear her screeching about how “they don’t really love her.”
I was in a car accident right at the beginning of Fall semester (got rear ended at 45mph) and was in so much pain (couldn’t even sing in choir because my back muscles were so strained). And even though I was visibly in pain she would still send me snarky texts about how she doesn’t care that I hurt and I need to tidy my room.
Luckily I only had to deal with her for 1 1/2 semesters. Though it was for a very scary reason. A little bit before thanksgiving she started having some pretty bad swelling in her left arm and she had me check it and it was warm, I told her she needed to go to the ER but she said she couldn’t bc she’s on the insurance her mom works for and it only covered facilities in California. So she arranged a next day flight home (which I told her seemed dangerous but she said she had no other options), so I gave her a ride to the airport and told her to be careful. It was apparently worse when she got picked up by grandparents picked her up at the airport and they immediately took her to the ER there and she got chewed a new one because she flew with what turned out to be a pretty big blood clot. I don’t remember the name of it but there was somehow part of the bones in her shoulder were pinching an important artery and causing a clot to form. She stayed in California through thanksgiving break, finals, and winter break and when she finally came back she had to be on 3 types of blooding thinners. She only stayed another 1/2 semester before deciding to either drop out or go remote and move back home where I was easier to handle everything. (I may have hated her as a roommate but she definitely did not deserve that whole mess)

went to a girls' boarding school for my last two years of education (because the alternative was a two hour commute to an overcrowded crappy school with the people who'd bullied me for years, and also not attending half the time in winter because the weather would routinely make the roads dangerous/impassable.. but I realise this is a privileged choice a lot of people never got). but anyway. not. one. single. girl. there. knew. HOW TO LOAD A DISHWASHER. they would over load it, under load it, put stuff in positions where there was no way it would get clean, wedge stuff in there so it got stuck, break things in there, you name it. they'd also leave massive stacks of dirty dishes in and around the sink, with no intention of ever cleaning them up. I genuinely think these girls thought the dishwasher, and cleaning in general, were some kind of magic, with no idea how it actually worked or that it involved human labour to accomplish the task.
they had to be told to put dishes in the dishwasher. they had to be told that hand washing dishes requires HOT WATER AND DISH SOAP. they still didn't do either. these were 16-19 year olds, and fully capable of doing these tasks. even a clear, large photo showing how to correctly load the dishwasher stuck on the front of the machine didn't help.
so I ended up loading the dishwasher myself almost every day because it bugged me so much (and we wouldn't have clean dishes otherwise, because people would just put away the "clean" dishes with dirt still caked on them - gross). this made me quite popular with the staff, who had one less job to do. but my fellow students seemed to think it was weird, not realising my doing this chore was the reason our student break room (yes, we had a break room, complete with a fridge and supplies for tea, coffee, etc. exclusively for use by the oldest students) didn't run out of clean cups by midday.
also, someone tried to boil eggs in the kettle. more than once. we actually had a meeting called about that one to explain not to do that, use a pan of water on the stove which is literally right there. still happened again.

Okay, so this is my story! In grade 7, I was selected into a public selective high school (I got in on the music program). I’ve been raised middle/ upper middle class, but I also went to school with kids who had parents on Centrelink and others who were just waiting to go to $50,000+ per year schools. It’s 2008, my mum was working as a supply teacher and my dad as a deputy principal at a primary school and was in the army reserve. I made friends with a girl, she didn’t have a lot of money, but I found out she was the eldest of 9 siblings. That christmas I got a digital camera (worth maybe $100, but I was beyond grateful), so I went to sleepover at the friends house with my new camera, we took heaps of photos and uploaded them to her family’s PC. The next day I went home and I couldn’t find my camera anywhere. I was freaking out and called her home phone. The mum picked up and I asked if I left my camera there. She told me “you didn’t bring a camera” and then hung up. I told my parents and my mum was livid (bc she knew I brought the camera over as I uploaded a photo or 2 onto my myspace, and showed her)! My mum then went over to the girls house and threatened to “take legal action unless my daughter’s camera is returned- I have my lawyer on speed dial”! Mums “lawyer” was her brother who is a solicitor 😂 This scared the mum of the girl and threw the camera at my mum.
Mum was happy to get the camera back until we found out they took out the memory card. By that time, it just wasn’t worth fighting over a $40 memory card.
So yeah, 100% avoided her from that point on and didn’t trust her or anyone else she hung out with after that.
EDIT: I forgot to add that the mum was bragging out the “Baby Bonus” they had just received for having baby no. 9. They bought a flat screen tv with that money, so stealing my camera should have been expected… Especially bc later I heard the mum say “we only had this baby to get the Baby Bonus”…

This isn't necessarily about Rich Kids, but it's still relevant to Undersparked as a channel.
So a bit of background info, I like to do diamond art/painting type things, but I also don't like to sit in silence, so I like to put these videos on in the background lol. And anyone who has been watching this channel for a while, knows that two common (I'm assuming substitute) words are dong and chicken.
So a few days ago, I was sitting in class and we were learning about diseases and pathogens and stuff, and there was three fake patients on the board that we had to "Diagnose". Fake patient two said something along the lines of:
"I have an upset stomach (and another symptom which i forgot) but I haven't done anything out of the ordinary. Although my chicken was a bit pinker than normal last night..."
And so, logically, as literally any other human being would say, he had Salmonella. However, I have been watching this channel for so long, and heard the word "Chicken" used as a substitute so many times, that my mind instantly jumped to, well you can probably guess lol. And so I set about confidently writing in my exercise book that fake patient two had like gonorrhoea or HIV or smth 😂
Luckily, I realised in time that she was on about the food and scribbled out my answer and wrote a new one 😂
I know this probably wong fit, but I just thought it was funny how my mind instantly jumped to what it did. Thank you for reading 😊

This had happened a couple years ago, basically there was a rich kid in a private school that I left (way too strict) and it happened during lunch resses (idk how to spell it, lol) but let’s call them John, me and some other people were playing tag, and John just goes up to someone in the tag game and straight up kisses them. After that incident I kept my distance, but I never knew what happened when he got in trouble.
