Our Work Process:

2. Record voice acting the stories/questions, sharing thoughts and opinions and performing it in a creative and transformative fashion for viewers to enjoy.
3. Record gameplay until there is enough interesting footage to use for the background
4. Throw the gameplay in the editing software and then begin typing up the captions, cutting/trimming the voice acting, adding SFX, color correction, removing/adding clips, etc.
5. Final review of the video, if video is not up to the quality desired for this channel. Either go back into the editing software, re-record some lines, change opinions/commentaries.
So my grandpa was a cop and loved to tell this story. He was just on the highway when a sports car goes rocketing past him. He lights and sirens and the moment the guy is over he’s holding his I’d out the window. My grandpa was confused but goes over and takes the ID. As he’s looking it over the guy says he’s the top heart surgeon and was on call when he was called about a urgent incident. He is desperate to reach the hospital. My grandpa has doubts, but the guy looked so panicked my grandpa says, “Tell you what. I’ll keep your license and let you go, and call other cops along here but after that surgery you are picking up your license and the ticket at the station, and I will be checking on this story. The guy agrees, even says he’d happily take double if he can just get to the hospital. So my grandpa takes the license back to the station. Station gets a call from the hospital after a while. The staff thanking him for letting the surgeon go and saying they got the patient stable and the doctor will be on his way to the station. Doc shows up looking exhausted, but presents his hospital ID, saying he appreciates being allowed to rush there, and asking for his ticket and license. First time such a wild excuse was true, and first time the person being issued the ticket didn’t want out of the ticket, just wanted to get there in time. He had already written the ticket but told the doc to take it to court and he would tell the judge what happened and recommend it be taken down to a warning.
I got so wrapped up in this story that I had to pause the video to give it my full attention.

Your grandpa had a lot of faith in that man lol, but thankfully his faith wasn’t misplaced. Hope your grandpa is doing well, whether he’s here or above I hope he’s doing good.
Wild it was still a warning. Dudes an essential worker and without him a person woulda died.

My male grey tabby cat (who i had raised from a kitten) developed what later turned out to be acute urinary blockage from a bladder stone. Poor guy was crying and in pain. it was the middle of the night. We jumped in the car and my husband (who is a paramedic and trained ambulance driver) drove WAY over the speed limit across town to the veterinary ER.
On our way there we were (rightfully) pulled over by a cop. We told him we were so sorry and we’d happily take a ticket, but our cat might be dying. He took one glance at the cat carrier in the back seat and immediately provided us a police escort to the vet! No ticket either! Luckily, we got there in time and (after emergency surgery) my sweet kitty recovered and went on to live many happy years. I will forever be grateful to that officer for helping us!
Bruh, that kidnapping can't even be called a "prank," that was literally a straight up crime

A story that was used in our training for why you send on every call (911 dispatcher). The trainer's department had a frequent flyer who was an old woman who was lonely. She called at least once a week for really small things that she would exaggerate. One day she says she has accidentally left her front door open when she went to the grocery store and when she came back there was a cougar in her living room. Since she's a frequent flyer, the officer assigned put her at the bottom of his list and it took him an hour to get to her. He gets there, she's in her living room in her rocking chair and yep, sitting on the couch, an adult cougar. He got her out of the house and called animal control.
That reminds me of the Hangover movie where Alan takes a piss while standing right next to a tiger in the bathroom.

I cannot stop trying to imagine what the “got her out” actually looked like. Was her rocker next to the door so it was easy to just help her up and out the door while keeping an eye on the cougar? If the cougar was between her and the door, did the cop stay at the door and prompt her to come speak to him outside and trust that since the cougar didn’t bother her when she crossed and sat down that he wouldn’t bother her if she did the same in reverse? If so, did he at least have his gun out and sharp eye on the cougar, just in case it did object to its new friend leaving? Or did he pull an action hero and rush in with his eye on the cougar, pick her up, and run backwards out the door? Maybe he army crawled across the floor, had her get on his back, and army crawled back out? I’ll probably be thinking about this all day.

So, my brother (RIP) was admittedly speeding one day and gets pulled over. He gets pulled over. The cop (mind you we live in the south) comes to his window and says “boy I’ve been waiting for you”, my brother (never one to be without a comeback) says to the cop “well I got here as fast as I could”. The cop ended up laughing so hard he told him to slow it down and walked back to his patrol car without a ticket. That boy got out of so many tickets by not even trying to make the cops laugh. But it worked every time.
That’s amazing, and one of the main reasons I probably won’t become a cop. I say this because I have a sixth sense: a sense of humor.
That’s an awesome story. I’m sorry you lost your brother. I have a friend that is just like that. He’s only been pulled over a few times, he’s not much of a speeder but the times he did get pulled over he made the cops laugh so hard they shook their heads and walked away. Some people just have that something special.
Imagine getting your car worked on for FREE at a really nice dad-and-son body-shop and getting so upset about the timeliness of the free work that you make a false complaint against the guys who are working on your car FOR FREE!

A friend had a dying car that was using a LOT of oil. One day, it stops using oil. Or so he thought as the oil light did not come on. Till the engine blew. The oil light had burned out. I only had two hours a day to work on it. I had the engine in and was doing final connections . Came for last hour to finish it and it was not in the garage. He had got sick of the nine days I had taken and had it towed to a garage. The garage had it done in two hours and, with no parts added, charged him over $300 for the work. My friend bragged he got a god deal from them as they got it going when I 'could not even get it finished in sixteen hours'. My friend refused to pay me the $250 he said he would pay me . I don't work on his car anymore.
Reading the conversation here, as the customer mostly, this is why I don't get friends to do stuff unless they're actively looking for punters, and then if I do, I pay them the proper rate. You may get a better price at 'mates rates', but mostly you will have to wait and wait because a person gotta eat and other people are paying more so they'll get priority. Just pay people a proper wage, whoever they are to you, and get a proper and timely job done. (If you're a real friend you shouldn't want to pay them less anyway, I mean, what kind of crazy think is that?) As a bonus you also have the usual consumer's guarantee on the work if you need it, and you can keep it professional and not fall out with your friend.

Not law enforcement related but back when I was in high school I was running almost an hour late to school and then had to go explain why to my dean.
The reason I was running late was because a chicken had gotten loose in our house.
It had run in through the door as I was leaving the house and I had to catch it and take it back outside before I could leave so it wouldn't just be loose in the house all day (the rest of my family had already left for work/school before me). It kept hiding under stuff so it took me almost fifteen minutes to actually catch it and by the time I had I had already missed my bus. I lived in a rural area where the buses only ran once an hour, but I went to school in the city so this is not the kind of story they were expecting. My dean said it was the most ridiculous excuse for being late that she had ever heard but fortunately I had realised how ridiculous it would sound before I left home so I had taken a photo of the chicken hiding under our dining table for evidence!
The dean: “Pics or it didn’t happen!”
Story 16: my dad’s parents both had dementia toward the end. They moved into an assisted living facility where they had their own private apartment, but had nurses and care staff come check on them through the day. They lived about an hour away, and one night my dad gets a call from my grandpa in an absolute panic saying someone broke into their apartment and stole stuff. It’s like 2am, we rush over there to see what’s going on. We get there and my grandfather is convinced that someone broke into their apartment and stole his stool softener pills. We asked if anything else was missing and he said no. Turns out, my grandma had started stockpiling random stuff from the apartment in her purse. We found the stool softener, puzzle pieces, mulch from outside, my grandpas hearing aid batteries, socks, etc. It was a hard few years for my family but since they’ve both passed, that’s one of our favorite stories to tell. It’s sad but looking back it’s also hilarious that out of everything they owned, my grandpa was convinced that someone broke in and ONLY stole his poop meds.
I’ve heard of two from the other side. One was a grandfather who had just been called to base for an emergency, got pulled over. Computers were still early, but the report came back “do not detain for any reason” and the cop was VERY lucky the military did not arrest HIM for obstructing an officer’s military duty, during a military emergency, while basically at war
Another one was my friend in his younger years got pulled over, asked if he was fighting zombies or something with all the weapons strewn in the back. “I’d listen intently to your radio for a minute”while holding his ID, apparently when he was pulled over he had someone important and needing his own emergency equipment. Radio crackles maybe two minutes later with an “all units along [road], vehicle with [model, color, plate, name on ID] is moving with replacement arms for [government group], if seen do not detain, an escort will meet them at area near [landmark]”

My dad once told me a similar story years ago where, when he was fresh out of high school (he dropped out and never graduated) he worked at the same printing company that his dad (my grandfather, who I sadly never got to meet as he passed away about a decade before I was even born) did as a Linotype Operator (a job that no longer exists). One day something came up and the police wanted to come inside to investigate one of the workers, and my grandfather refused them in the building and told them to call a specific phone number. The officers obviously weren't initially willing to do so and tried to insist that they enter and speak to the individual in question, but after my grandfather further insisted that they _really_ needed to call that number first one of the officers finally did so, and apparently the color immediately drained from his face as he listened to the person on the other end, and after the call was over he made damn sure that all of the other officers left and never came back.
I was never told _why_ that happened, but my best guess is that they were printing confidential stuff for the government or military, and thus all of that material was far beyond the authority of the local police to mess with or look at. And my dad's memory is declining these days, so it's unlikely that he could even tell me anymore even if he wanted to.

My hs had a printing program so I’ve met ppl that work specialized printers. I feel like at this point someone is trained to use those machines it’s not improbable that they will end up printing things for the gov. No one is allowed near those machines besides the operator. I can just see our local police ignoring the specialist and barreling into a print shop, no special clearance. What a mess that would be.

My family went to Cozumel with some family friends a few years ago. We are waiting for our luggage and we notice a couple K9s hanging out nearby. As we collect our bags, the handlers walk over with the dogs and start letting them sniff the luggage coming off the plane, as well as our carry-ons. They get to the family friend and... the dog sits. Which is what they are trained to do if they smell drugs. The family friend then has to explain that he is also a K9 officer and had accidentally used his dog's training bag as his carry-on. Showed his badge, got his bag searched, and we were good to go. We still make fun of him for it.

For the loss prevention story: when someone was apprehended at the store I used to work at, regardless of who they were, a female employee was required to sit in the room with them as a witness. I sat in once and there was a mother with several young children and the cart she was trying to steal was diapers, formula, baby clothes, etc. He took the report and gave her the whole rundown. Then he left for a short while. Came back and had paid for all of the essential items in the cart... Warmed my heart.
There is a locked case at the Walmart here. The only thing in it is baby formula 😢
Not the cop here but my college friend remarked the funniest thing happened to him visiting friends in Canada. He was on the highway out in the middle of nowhere with his friend and another guy who was a math genius. There were heading to or out of Quebec because one of them went to the university in Laval. The road trip took a while so the math genius amused himself by calculating the distance between the telephone poles and tells the driver (forgot who was driving) to speed up a little. They were driving a rental car and the speedometer only went up to 85 mph so he floored it. After a few minutes, the third guy is quietly crunching the numbers in his head when suddenly BLOOP BLOOP BLOOP! The police busted them. They couldn't believe it. There was nothing for him to hide behind and he literally caught them with their pants down. They pulled over. He walked up and asked the famous question: "Do you know how fast you were going?" The guy in the back seat is so nervous he blurted out "I'm sorry, officer! We were doing 115!!" The officer was shocked and stared at the speedometer. Seeing the rental car's instrument panel, he was speechless. Then he recovered and admitted that it was PRECISELY what registered on his radar gun! He asked them where their hidden speedometer was. They all denied it and said the guy was a math wizard and he was able to calculate their speed by timing the movement of the phone poles. The cop was astounded and could tell they were not kidding him. He had never heard anything like that before. He let them off with a strongly worded warning, pointing out that in this part of Canada, it was very dangerous to have a wreck because they were pretty far from "home" and the next town was a long drive. If they crashed, it would take some effort for paramedics to reach them. They promised they would slow down and he let them go.
Being that I have friends who would think this is a great way to pass the time, I find this extra hilarious.
When you get a genius or two bored in a car I swear they get so caught up they forget everything other than their current thought or experiment. My joke is they need an adult. Do not leave unattended. 😂

Hi, I'm not a cop or anything, but that story about the guy swerving really hit home for me. As bad as driving drunk can be, driving while tired is legitimately worse. If it's just alcohol, you might be able to focus through it if you haven't had too too much. But if you're tired, do NOT get behind the wheel. I very nearly died because I was driving while tired cus I was running late for work.
So my advice for you all, if you're really tired, don't drive. You are a much greater risk to yourself and others than you think. Your job is not worth your life. Visiting whoever you are planning to visit isn't worth it. *_NEVER_* drive while tired.
I work nights and have to bring my brother to college in the morning. I've literally made a bed in my trunk to nap instead of driving tired.

I made the mistake of driving while tired, _once,_ not too long after I finally got my driver's license when I was 21, and I actually _fell asleep behind the wheel_ on an Interstate highway at like 4am. *_Fortunately,_* I was awakened a few seconds later, when my car drove over the cat's eyes between lanes as it started to drift towards the median at 65 mph...

If you're sleep deprived enough your body will do what it has to to get some sleep and there's literally nothing you can do to resist it.
I actually got a prank call at dead midnight once, caller ID read 666-666-6666. A superdeep modified voice said "Hello, _man._ You _know_ who this is," and went on for a bit. I laughed and cussed him out, called it in to the cops and moved on. Obviously because I knew it wasn't the actual devil, nobody questioned my mental health. lol
I've gotten one of those too. Same number. The moment they said, "Hello, man. You know who this is" I replied with, "Yes, Satan. Are you FINALLY going to pay your gambling debt, or do you want to bet another fucking fiddle?" They laughed and hung up.

My brother use to work at a local restaurant and bar. He was helping change a keg and it started spraying beer everywhere. He got soaked. On his way home at about midnight, ran into a ride program. Had the joy of explaining to the officers that even though he reeked of alcohol, he had not had anything to drink. They called his boss and had a good laugh.
The story about the elephant reminded me of an incident that happened with my uncle and I. He was an animal trainer for Wringling Brothers Circus and trained tigers. After the Circus went out of business he ended up keeping a tiger that he had raised from a 2 day old cub after it's mother rejected it. This cat weighed around 600 pounds and was the biggest baby on Earth. My cousin and I used to walk this tiger down Main Stret on a leash. Imagine the looks a couple of 12 year olds walking a 600 pound cat on a leash in the middle of town. After we grew up my cousin was a waitress in a bar and these 2 guys just wouldn't leave her alone. They kept trying to get her to go back to their hotel despite her repeated refusal to do so. She finally got tired of their crap and agreed to spend time with them on the condition that she could bring her cat along for protection. She had them meet her at the park just outside of town and when they got there they asked "Where's your little pushy cat? He won't be able to protect you." As one of them grabbed her shirt to try and remove it. My cousin whistled and called "Timmy" and the tiger jumped out of the bed of her truck, ran up and knocked the one holding onto her shirt to the ground. They both tok off running into the trees and she never saw them again. Their open topped jeep was still sitting at the park when my uncle, now the county sheriff, arrived after she called him. The funny part of it was that the tiger had climbed into it and tore up the back seat before taking a massive crap in the driver's seat and eating the 2 steak dinners that they had ordered to take back to their hotel room. The Sheriff's department got a phone call an hour later from a resident who claimed that 2 drunk guys had tried to force their way into her house screaming they had been attacked by a lion. My uncle went out and arrested the 2 idiots for attempted sexual assault and kidnapping. They really freaked out when they were led out to the Sheriff patrol truck and the tiger popped his head up from the bed of the truck. They were so traumatized that my uncle thought he would have to admit them to the hospital psyche ward instead of taking them to jail. The judge laughed so hard when they were brought into court that he had to call a recess to the hearing because he couldn't stop laughing. He let the idiots off easy with a 60 day jail sentence on the condition that they left town and told them that if he ever saw them again he would have them thrown into a cell WITH the tiger. It's been 20 years since then and we've never seen tem in the county again. The jeep was impounded because they never went back to the park to retrieve it and sold at auction after 60 days sitting in the impound yard. A couple of years ago a young lady came to the bar (owned by another cousin) asking if the story she heard from her father was true at which time my cousin told her the whole story of what happened that night. The young lady was very upset when she learned about them attempting to have their way with my cousin but laughed for about ten minutes when she was pointed to pictures on the wall of the bar of various family members and the tiger. She thought her father deserved everything he got that night and wanted a copy of the photos of my cousin and I walking the tiger down Main Street on a leash and one of my cousin and the tiger posing next to her dad's abandoned jeep. She said her father still had alcohol issues and that the next time he got drunk she was going to pull out the picture of my cousin and the tiger with his jeep.

I can personally attest that many of the "paranormal" events heard about come down to human gaslighting. Someone who wants your home, your land, your possessions, your money; may be tempted to use deception. All too many. Didn't waste our time; exactly. Among our crew were an attorney and a cop, who were able to handle it from there. We are stronger together.

The story about the girl stealing the makeup reminded me of the time my daughter and her boyfriend who is now her husband went into the Wal-Mart and stole a pregnancy test and got caught by lost prevention, they asked my daughter why she stole it and she said I think I might be pregnant and had no money for the test,so he let her take it right there in the Wal-Mart bathroom and sure enough she was indeed pregnant! She ended up having a baby girl and they took her in to meet him and they nick named her the Wal-Mart baby! Today she is 7 and my daughter is married to the boyfriend and they have a 3 yo little girl too! They are doing wonderful! The funny part is my 7 yo granddaughter absolutely loves Wal-Mart!!! Lol
I used to drive a Peterbilt model 352. One day, as I was headed to my delivery, I notice my keyring near the dash. I looked again, and the key to my Chevrolet was able to lock, unlock start and drive my work truck. i got home and the key to my truck was on the kitchen floor. i drove it like that for a month. The key to the Pete 352 would not work in my car, but it was hilarious, the key to a Chevy Impala was the same key pattern for a tractor trailer rig. When I changed trucks, I put the Pete key back and went on with the new truck keys. One day, a month before i swapped trucks, I got home and my boss was in my kitchen ( not real big on personal privacy) and I showed him I could start and drive the Pete with the key to my Impala, we both got a chuckle out of that
The Key part reminded me of a situation that happened to a friend some years ago. She was working for a state agency and did such a good job that she was invited to lunch with the governor's wife. She got a car from the motor pool and drove to the capital. After the lunch, she returned to the car, got in, and drove to the outskirts of the city when she realized the car had grown a fire extinguisher. She returned and saw a state police car next to the exact same car she was driving. Another state employee was telling the officer that someone had stolen his car. Sure enough, both cars used the same key. The state had bought a large number of this model of the car, and they were common in motor pools for several years.
A similar one also happened to me. I went to Ikea in an older VW, and parked 2 rows from a guy with a black A6 from about the same era. We both got out at about the same time, and went to lock our cars. Imagine the confusion when my car suddenly locked while I was still fumbling for the key. So I unlocked it again, and the A6 did the same. We then stared at each other in total confusion, locked and unlocked each other's cars about 10 times, and finally decided to just give up and walked into the store without saying a word. Turns out there are fewer possible codes than keys, so for each VAG car, there are a handful of fitting keys spread all over the planet. That dude just happened to have one of them.
The Ford fleet key is also something special.
I was allowed to squat on the shoulder during a traffic stop. I'd been speeding, hoping to get home. As I'm squatting, crapping my brains out in a bush, the cop makes me sign the ticket, leaves my license and the ticket on the trunk of the car and says, "God damn son, eat some fiber."

As a confirmed Crohn's sufferer, I would be able to get that ticket waived and, depending on circumstances, get a small to meduim sized check from the government. 😂

The wildest story I heard from a friend who was an EMT.
A woman's wife tried to have marital reltions with their dog. One of the large breeds, I don't remember which. It went about as badly as possible.
she was found naked with the dog stuck inside of her. The woman had been chewed on... there was raw hamburger involved, and the dog died.
The EMTs brought both to the hospital (still attached) because they were not sure how to separate them safely.
I cannot fathom the reaction the husband must have had.
Not so much an excuse, but my grandfather had a great speeding story. Cop pulls him over for speeding, gives him a ticket, whatever. My grandfather decides to show up in court and dispute it. The judge is basically just doing the tickets for this cop, and my grandfather notices that the cop always uses roughly the same line: “well, I could tell from the Doppler effect that they were speeding up.”
My grandfathers ticket is called. Cop gives the same line. My grandfather goes up and says “say, I’m a physics professor at [college], and I was wondering if you could explain to me how you can use the Doppler effect to measure acceleration?”
Judge immediately dismissed the ticket, before the cop even gets a chance to respond. He was not interested in hearing this cop try and explain this to my grandfather (it is technically possible to measure acceleration using the Doppler effect, but also the cop was clearly talking out of his ass, and the judge has better things to listen to).
Car: something similar happened to my mom and I. A family had the exact same minivan. Their key opened ours. My friend, after she got divorced wore bright makeup like eyeshadow and such like that and someone native, like a tahitian or Philippines girl saw that and asked why she wore the bright and bold makeup and she explained that in her culture that would be considered war paint and my friend explained about the divorce and all that. So it could be like that with the girl with the cancer patient mom where she was trying to be pretty but also fight a private war being in that position

My buddy drove a crown vic back in the day when they were also the standard cop car. Anytime he locked his keys in the car, rather than pay for a locksmith, he called non-emergency to have the cops use their keys to open the door for him. The LEOs would show up and say it wouldn't work then drop their jaws when finding out all crown vic keys back then worked for all crown vics.
I suspect his car was ex-local fleet, because "all crown vic keys back then worked for all crown vics" no, that's not how car keys work.

They prolly just got lucky that the local fleet had the same key. I don’t know about now, but in the past car manufacturers only made a few keys for each model. There was a kid in my town that used to collect old keys and try them in cars all day while everyone else was at school. He’d come by the school after classes in a different car every day.
Story 18 reminds me of my grandpa who had the same thing happen. We'd gone to the mall, grandpa and grandma and me. When we came out, we follow grandpa as he leads us to the car, then he unlocks the door and stops dead: ''That's not my car! What happened to my car!!'' And he was right. It was the exact same model, same color, and identical upholstery inside. BUT, the personal stuff was different of course, and he's not a smoker either. So he relocks the door and we locate his actual car, parked 30 seconds away by foot. We went on with more shopping and when we headed back home, we passed the other car... as its owner was getting in. Grandpa waved at the guy, who waved back (identical cars, you know) but then Grandpa parked and went to talk to the guy, explaining about the key. The other man came and tried his key in our vehicle, and it worked. It was sooo surreal! We all parted ways with a chuckle - but grandpa had the locks changed on his car later. LOL
I used to work in a call center collecting car payments. You hear a lot of crazy stories on why they can't pay. 2 stories have stuck with me. 1st one was a guy had been run over by one of those big roller machines. He got seriously injured but was in soft dirt so he was pushed into the dirt instead of getting crushed. The next one was her son had killed his wife and had put her chopped up pieces in the trunk...she said she would take the hit to her credit and said we could get it from the police department. We just let the cops keep it.
in my freshman year of high school, i was late to school every single day. my mom works in the mornings (has to clock in before 8am, school started at 8:05am) so my sister (a senior at the time) would take her to work then me to school.
one day, we're cutting it SUPER CLOSE. it's 7:50am, and we're driving near a car dealership ¾ of the way to school. a younger looking cop pulls us over and asks my sister if she knew how fast she was going.
"no?"
"20 over. this is a 50, you're going 70. not to mention there's construction up ahead."
she frantically explains to him that she needs to get me to school before 8:05am or else i'll have 4 hours of detention. he nods, gives her license and registration for the car back and looks over at me with a smile.
"when you get into the front office, tell them that Officer Turner said not to give you detention today."

edit: my sister wasnt in regular school at this time. yes, we were in the same building, but she did this alternative route called the Opportunity Center (or, OC) and graduated about a week early. i ended up doing the same thing and graduated exactly one week ago, 3 weeks before the last day of school 🫶

Some people react to trauma with "no reaction". Basically what happens is the brain just doesn't want to deal with it at that moment and just starts to deal with the smaller thing which can cause some discomfort to distract itself from the trauma. In this case losing the phone. Once evrything is back to normal is when the brain slowly starts to deal with it. It takes hours, days, weeks, months or even years.
Thats the way I am, I grew up emotionally neglected. When something happens it just happens and its like it doesnt matter at all. It sucks cause it all stays inside and doesn't feel like I actually lived through it, so I don't get to properly process it, and it even happens with good and fun things, I'm just totally numb.

It's a "survive the situation first, deal with it later" response, which is good for survival; maybe not so much for mental health.
Story 18: it actually used to be a lot more common, worse off back when the crown vic was the go to cop car any time the government ordered cop cars they'd ask for all the cars to be keyed the same (so if 1 cop loses a set of keys they don't have to worry) and the company used a standard key in its lock rotation for the model. Fun Fact, the company also provided the locks for the shotgun racks which were... you guessed it, keyed with the door and ignition so if you owned a crown vic there was a possibility that you could just take your key, hop in any crown vic cop car and just straight up drive off with it.
In general you'd be shocked at how much "security" in the world just relies on people who really don't understand the inner workings. Systems which use standard/widely available keys to bypass the security, standard codes which allow maintenance to bypass locks, etc.
The "right key, wrong car" thing happened to me once. At work. Third year in the job, I parked in the car park and went in, started my day... lunch time, I went to drive to the next town for a bite, walked out the door... hey, there's my car, a bit closer than I thought I'd parked. I got in. Damn, it's dusty, how did this happen? Steering wheel feels wrong somehow, seat and mirrors are mis-adjusted... and where is my stuff?
Something is wrong. I got out and checked the outside. Tax disc was wrong (this was before UK road tax went digital) and the registration number was also wrong. Right year, wrong everything else. I had gotten into someone else's car. Mine was one row back and eight spaces along, parked the same way. I noted the registration number and, when I got back from lunch, emailed everyone in the building asking to speak to the owner of the car. Colleagues all assumed I had hit the car and needed to exchange insurance details or something. The owner was an old lady from the other side of the building who had worked there even longer than me and had the car since it was new. I'd never noticed the clone before and neither had she. Wasn't sure if the keys were identical or just similar, so I said it wasn't such a great idea to try it the other way round in case the lock or key could be damaged - and if her lock had been damaged, I'd pay for repairs.
Telling my colleagues the story, their most common question was how the alarm button worked on the wrong car, or why I didn't cotton on when the remote didn't work on it. Except the car alarm's remote hadn't worked since I bought the car; manufacturer wanted a week's wage to replace the entire alarm system because they "wouldn't be able to just do a new remote without a working one to interrogate." So I was using the manual lock every time.
You can get a DWI (driving while impaired) for driving excessively tired. Its as dangerous while drunk.
DWI stands for driving while intoxicated. In my state you can get a separate violation for driving while tired but a DUI or DWI is a criminal offense. The driving while exhausted is a civil infraction. However, several cities have made it a crime to sleep in your car. A judge ruled that as long as they had those ordinances, they couldn’t enforce for driving while exhausted.
In the early 70's the local International dealer decided to sell Honda motorcycles. With an A rated high school there were lots of young people for customers. The popular sized bike was a big seller, with more than 10 being bought for students. Someone stopped a guy who was taking HIS bike. Kid says it's his and fits his key in and starts it. Other kid points out his license plate and shows registration. Soon most of them are trying their keys in other bikes. Seems the the factory sent a whole batch straight to this dealer instead of through a distributer. They could ALL use their key for ALL the same model bike!

Once my Mom a teacher had a favorite brilliant student. Very poor. They lived in a 2 room shack that had once been for chickens. I at 5 years old stayed in the car the first trip but then we took them more groceries the second and Mom told me to come in as Bobby’s mom wanted to meet me. His mentally challenged brother was kept in a cage inside the “living room” but of course there were still several young adult kids who still lived there. Most were out working on their own. Mom told me not to be scared and that he wouldn’t hurt me-But he grabbed me and wouldn’t let go of my arm and I felt so sick. Bobby’s mom grabbed a whip and whacked him twice and he let go. Sooooo I went outside- I can’t trust adults already even at 5. This was no worse than my psychopathic dad and mean ass brother but damn-life is freakin harsh. I was surprised Mom lied to me but then she pretended that the challenged boy was NOT hurting me when she relayed the story. Yeah. Right. He had ape-like strength and was twisting my flesh too. I am for sure he did NOT KNOW he was hurting me tho. btw-the cage was low-he couldn’t stand up in it-he was a full sized adult almost but I think he was 16 (?)Maybe it was 4 ft high by 5 ft longx 3 ft, It was welded rebar- tho at the time I didn’t know what that was. Backwoods in Central Missouri. This man could still be alive today and might be mid-70’s. Hope he found a better life.
Unfortunately it’s not rare for mentally disabled ppl be treated like that. And when they are super strong like that their families resort so scary things.

The "looking at phones immediatly after getting robbed" seems pretty logical. Once you brush off the immediate emotions, you're left with all the problems related to not having a phone, and buying a new phone fixes most of them.
My father was pulled over once. The cops claimed they smelled alcohol and made him take a Breathalyzer. Zero.
They searched the car for any cause of the smell. No Alkohol in the car.
Turned out the wiper Fluid was mixed with alcohol to keep it from freezing during Winter time.
Was it even alcohol? Pure antifreeze (ethylene glycol) smells a lot like alcohol (source: topped off my radiator with pure ethylene glycol).
The drinking pee story reminds me of something that happened when I was in middle school (circa 2002). My classmates and I were supposed to test the ph for different liquids for chemistry class and my friend peed in the soda that we were supposed to be testing. As he was talking about how funny it would be to test the ph for his pee instead of the soda, another kid walked up and stole the soda and drank it without realizing that it was pee. No one tried to trick anyone into drinking pee, the kid drank pee because he stole a soda bottle that happened to have pee in it.
Police got dispatched to our house because my aunt opened the front door after inputting the wrong code to the security system. The reason she didn’t try to fix it? It told her the code was accepted. Police were more than confused when we told them what happened.
Alarm system usually have a separate "silent panic" code, that will seem to work normally but will alert authorities. She probably managed to accidentally type the silent panic code instead of the normal one.
Related to the soaked in beer stories: I went on a few overnight trips with my friend's very Christian youth group. One of them was a snowshoeing trip up a local mountain. I was determined to be too disabled to make it through the whole trail, so I had to stay at the resort town and do touristy things with a few other teens that also couldn't snowshoe. There happened to be a big festival going on sponsored by a beer company. One of the events was called "The Beer Bowl": people would ski or snowboard down the slope and try to make it over a pit filled with beer, water, ice, and slush. It was fun to watch, so a few of us left behind did so. Most skiers went fast enough to make it over the pit, some didn't and so sank in the freezing slush. Lol Some, however, thought it'd be hilarious to turn their skis slightly so as to spray the spectators with slushy beer. We got soaked! We went back to the restaurant to try to dry off before all the counselors got back, but we still had a hell of a time explaining why we (a bunch of temporarily unsupervised teens) stank of beer. No no, we didn't drink, the skiers sprayed us, we swear! A likely story, right? Hahaha!

The Jeep key one actually also happened to me. I went to Ikea in an older VW, and parked 2 rows from a guy with a black A6 from about the same era. We both got out at about the same time, and went to lock our cars. Imagine the confusion when my car suddenly locked while I was still fumbling for the key. So I unlocked it again, and the A6 did the same. We then stared at each other in total confusion, locked and unlocked each other's cars about 10 times, and finally decided to just give up and walked into the store without saying a word. Turns out there are fewer possible codes than keys, so for each VAG car, there are a handful of fitting keys spread all over the planet. That dude just happened to have one of them.
I have like the biggest exams in my life going on now, so these stories are really nice to escape during the breaks of studies. Thanks man and your voice is so soft i might have a crush on it....

She then tried to lock it, but she couldn't. She ended up writing a note to put the owner a bit more at ease about their car not being locked

Parent's suitcase yep I can agree that happens. My parents finally admitted to me they smoked pot in secret while raising us but refused to let us touch the stuff. Talked to my sibblings about it. My brother, who I caught growing two plants for his use once, suddenly hit the table and went "THAT IS WHERE MY CUTTLINGS KEPT GOING". They'd found them before me and were just sneaking bits of it.
Story 11 is great except for the green narrator. Hello, the cops helped him deal with the shark! He seemed to be losing that battle and would have lost his gear if they hadn't come to the rescue in that timely way.

Heh First story reminds me of how recently I got a Quest 3 headset recently and was trying out this virtual desktop application called Immersed. I didn't know it at the time but it defaults to PUBLIC room with the mic and everything on by default. Which I didn't realize because after connecting I had the headset on my desk as I was putzing around with settings in Windows, while muttering to myself as I usually do. I started hearing some random guy talking to me, REPLYING to shit I was saying. Freaked the hell out of me! It was a new headset, I wasn't used to the audio quality, and it legit sounded like some guy right next to me a few feet away. That couple of seconds between the moment I KNEW I heard someone's voice right next to me, and figuring out WHERE that voice came from, was pretty damn surreal.
That car thing happened to a friend of my and myself in the 90s.
We went to his car, a red VW polo, to drive home from a party in the country side.
While we wondered why his car was suddenly decorated with girl stuff, cushions and plush dolls two young women in front of the car completely freaked out that two big drunk weirdos tried to steal their car.
Took a while to explain the situation and thank God they didn't call police. We were pretty wasted. 😅
I had to laugh while listening to Story #18. When I was 19 years old, I had a Chevy Sprint. One day, I went to Target. I did my shopping, and went to my car. I unlocked the car and drove away. I went to turn on my music, and thought "what happened to my stereo?" I look in the backseat and realize this is not my car. Meanwhile, I have driven about 3 blocks. I quickly turned around, and headed back to Target. I parked the car, and found my car. As I was driving away, I saw a man looking for his car. He sees me and yells "Get out of my car!" I stop and tell the man that he's mistaken. There's a car two aisles over that looks just like my car. He told me that's not where he parked, but goes over to the aisle anyways. He sees his car, and embarrassedly apologizes to me. I told not to worry about it, and left as soon as I could. Thank goodness, he didn't see me actually driving his car. He was a scary looking guy.
I once got pulled over for speeding. My license was literally stolen the day before, so I told the officer that. Obviously he was skeptical because I'm sure he hears it all the time, he probably thought I forgot it. However, I did remember the carry the case ID, which I showed the officer. He felt bad for me and only fined me $100. He lowered my ticket from 15 over to 10 over, so it wouldnt show up on my record.

Many years ago when I was in high school, my parents had locked the keys in their van when they had come to the school for a theatre program. There was another person there with the same make & model, so they tried unlocking the door with the other person's key. Sure enough, it worked! They didn't think to see if the other person's key could start their van, though.
NEVER drive tired. Even if you’re currently driving and get tired while driving. If you get tired while driving, pull over, at the very least take a short car nap, and then get back on the road when you’re feeling a little more rested.
A few years ago, I made a 5 hour drive one way to help move a (now ex) partner. It was my first big roadtrip where I was driving by myself. MULTIPLE TIMES going like 80 on the highway, I felt myself nodding off. Car swerved into the dirt on either side of the road or into rumple strips that jolted me awake I want to say at least 3 times. If I was unlucky I could have swerved off a bridge or hit a patch of trees.
Once I got there and we got everything in the car, I stubbornly insisted I was fine driving the way BACK another 5 hours because I didn’t want to inconvenience them or ‘waste money’ staying somewhere.
Didn’t make it over an hour before I got worried- not for my safety, but for theirs. Because if I crashed my car and died alone it’d be fine, apparently, but if I killed them then Idk what I’d’ve done.
I had to pull over. Took a short nap in a weird parking lot, booked a hotel for the night and finished the other four hours the next day, well-rested.
Not dying or accidentally killing someone was worth the money the hotel stay cost.
Ford apparently made cars for a while that would ALL open with the same key. I had a PE teacher back in the day who accidentally locked his keys into his trunk. He went to the parking lot of a mall that was next to the public pool where we just had swimming lessons.. He found someone with the same type of car, went inside to have that guy to come to his car over the PA system. Asked the guy to borrow his keys, went back (with the guy) to his own car, opened his trunk, returned the keys. I think that the other guy thought about selling that car as soon as possible, because my teacher explained that all of the cars with this model sold in our country had the same key, and since there was such a low crime rate, nobody would try their keys on another person's car.
I bought a new Chevy cavalier in 1988, went out to my car, opened it but it wouldn't start, a woman came running up to me telling me to get out of her car. I showed her that my key opened the door but didn't start it. Same thing with her key in my car. Our cars were the same tear, same colors, we lived on the same street in Chicago. Weird.
So, a colleague is a Special, (Volunteer Officer with non Law Enforcement full time job) & tells this one.
Heading back to the station to put a crime report on, they flagged down by some young men. Told that an older man has staggered up from the nearby High Street, stumbled & fallen, picked themself up & wobbled up to their car about 50yards away.
Colleague approaches with full time officer partner, and long story short, no available preliminary testing, (out of date on calibration), & old boy admits to having had maybe a pint in the nearby watering hole. No option but to arrest on suspicion; despite the old boy saying they had an inner ear problem.
Got back to the Nick, and on the Intoxiliser, wherein the old boy blows zero! For the countless times drunks have said similar, this time it was true.
Got them back to their car & poor old chap has a parking ticket for 16minute over the prepaid ticket they’d bought.
Colleague gave the chap, (who viewed it all as an adventure, and an arrest was now ticked off their bucket list), a “CAD Note”, giving colleague’s Police contact details and the CAD Reference Number for the chap to appeal.
Bless, he really Did have a balance issue.
Feel for this guy! I have balance issues and for real ppl are always thinking I’m drunk. It’s worse if I don’t take my meds. So ppl tell me I’m on drugs and I have to say no the problem is I forgot them! 🤦♀️also have issues with slurring words. I’m just glad there are such things as breathalyzers because there’s no way I’m walking in a straight line or saying the abcs backwards 🤣
@@kimberly_erin , in the UK, part of the sobriety tests is asking if there’s a reason it can’t be done. You’d still get asked to try, but it’s on record you’ve stated a balance issue, which can then be checked against medical records (if you allow) and you’d not ultimately be prosecuted on that alone.
Also, as we move toward total connection, we have access to some of our medical records through an app, which would further corroborate the issue.
As for forgetting meds, I do that occasionally; but I’m rather rigorous with the heart ones lol

I will definitely use my medical account to help them with me if I ever need too great idea. 💡 in America most ppl aren’t allowed to ask medical questions but I bet that question coming from the police would help so many ppl. I have anxiety about answering questions so maybe I should also write something up to read to ppl if I need help or need to explain my disabilities for any reason. That would save me and whoever is trying to help me a lot of confusion.
Doubling up on the driving tired thing. A friend of mine crashed from being tired and I myself have even dozed off at the wheel a few times. Very very dangerous, pull over and stretch your legs.

Story 18 - i worked for a Car Rental in the old days. We had alot of Ford Mondeos - they had all the same key (the form) only difference was the chip inside the key for the anti-theft device. But the chip would only be checked if you were to unlock the door or start the car, not while locking the car.
While cleaning cars back from renting a college used the wrong key to lock the car, with the correct key inside the car. We had to drive to another location to get the spare key.
Erratic driving also could be due to a medical emergency issue like a diabetic shock situation.
The story about a tired driver is inresting to me since you rarely see tired people get fined for impared driving since you need to be realy realy tired to drive that bad. I know of a case here in sweden where a person had worked all night and then went with his wife to pick up a car they bought and needed to drive to the harbour in gothenburg from a place a few hours inland. By the time he was halfway back home he was swerving so much the cops stoped him and after a short conversation the driver was luckily free to go with a light fine and escorted to the closest petrol station for a coffee and quick nap asap. Apparently that can make you drive safely again for a few hours.
The loss prevention story got me. Ive been in a position where ive had to steal so I could eat. Im ashamed of it but it makes me happy they gave the girl a break.

04:50 ... I have a rare nerve disorder - brought about from spinal cord damage. WATER on my skin feels like acid, so I have to take a specific medication that numbs the nerves to my skin, but otherwise I am perfectly fine... except for one thing: it causes aphasia. I can think of the words I want to say, but when I speak, they come out mumbled, garbled and sometimes just the totally wrong words.
While on this medication I can actually bathe or shower.. The problem is it takes a good two hours to start working properly, so when I talk to my family, I tell them, "In a half hour, nobody ask me anything or do anything that would make ME have to call 911, please". To be spread out over several million vehicles. In every million vehicles, each key will be used 200 times. Your chances of finding another Jeep product that uses your key are actually excellent. The same is true for every other brand. But it's better than than it used to be when most manufacturers only had about 2,500 combinations available. And nowadays, you also have the security chips and such in so many vehicles, so you may have the same physical key, but without the correct electronic portion you can only unlock the door, but not drive it away. As often.
Fun story about car keys, my mom's FIAT keys, could start or neighbors alfa Romeo. One day or spare went missing. And the neighbors car was "stolen" and found wrecked a few miles away. We mention our missing key to the guy and then his son confessed both crimes. We never let the fucker back into our house again.
I know someone who took the wrong car once, because it was the same car model he had, the key worked perfectly and he found out after the cops went to arrest him for car theft.
4:59 Impaired driving actually constitutes being tired. If your really tired your reactions could be even worse then that of a drunk person. Not sure what the legal side of it is but you shouldn't drive while tired if you can't focus properly or you feel like you won't be able to focus.

I was in Woolworth's in America looking at makeup. I was 12-15 at the time. Also I have always looked younger than I am. A lady store clerk came over to me and thought that I was going to steal it, so she started talking to me. We were very good customers back then, but as a teen I didn't know to pull the "I'm a good customer card". So I just talked to her for awhile. I think my mom came over when she was ready to leave. Thank goodness she saved me.
Similar story to the two cars one key. When I was a valet in college, we had a night where we had two identical cars that not only had the same key, but the same key fob frequency. So on this busy Saturday night, ot was just about 1 am and we were slammed. We recorded where the cars were parked on the claims ticket, but we would generally glance at the lot and start running in that direction. Once we got close we would start clicking the unlock button on the key fob to find the car with the chime and flashing lights on the car. My coworker finds the car, drives it up, and the lady leaves.
About 20 minutes later another person comes up to claim their car, we retrieve it, and bring it to the front door. The guy opens the door, sniffs the air, and say's, "Did you guys put an air freshener in my car?" We tell him, "No", visably confused. He sits in the drivers seat, turns on the cd player, from which a Gospel song starts belting, and he says, "I don't think this is my car". Not a minute later, the first lady pulls up in the duplicate vehicle, gets out and says, "I got home and tried to open the garage door with the opener and it wouldn't work. After I turned on the cabin light to see, I realized this wasn't my car. Needless to say, we were all stunned.
When i was in Driver's Ed, there was a person that sat next to me that I did most of the group/partner work with. They stated that, "I'm pretty sure driving sleepy is just as dangerous as driving drunk," but then added, "And I'm going to prove it!" Sure enough, once out of Driver's Ed they were the one to go on to put that theory in motion prove it not long after. Proud of them! X3
What I find really messed up is they tell you to pull over and sleep if you have been driving too long and are tired, yet there are a ton of states that will fine you for doing just that.
