The love that music critics and music enthousiasts on the internet have for voice cracks is simply infinite.
If you want my honest opinion, I am a bit underwhelmed by the voice crack. I still have to master that art.
Voice cracks can be an emotional thing, and an intentional thing. Just like tension in music, making purposefully aweful sounds for creating a harrowing, or intense paranoid experience. Nothing wrong with that.

ok I'm seeing a lot of confused comments that think this is about a literal car seat headrest, so I'll explain.
Car Seat Headrest is a band that started as a solo project by Will Toledo. The name comes from the fact that Will Toledo used to record vocals in his family's car. They're like lo-fi indie pop/rock, with a very distinct and immediately recognizable sound/style (especially in the early records). I am making a parody of that.
Feel free to check out their stuff, it's pretty good! I'd recommend starting with Twin Fantasy. Go for the 2018 version if you want to hear a more mature and well produced album, go for the 2011 version if you want to hear a more raw, lo-fi and intimate version.

wow, thanks. you should check out the band! their album Twin Fantasy is amazing. There are two versions, the original (from 2011) and the re-recorded one (2018). Both of them have their perks, but I'd recommend listening to the 2018 one first from the production value.
