Hello, have you done a video of properly measuring length of pull or fully getting fitted for a shotgun? If not could you make a video covering you getting fully fitted if possible?

I saw you on the wildfowing show and you said well back then you just orded your gun out of the catalog and you needed nothing we gone from that to them basically shuting down shooting rember im 65 when i was 18 or so i whent to the solway could not shoot barnacle geese other than that we had fun look at all this destructive buerockcy i would have no idea how to get a shotgun cirtificate and remember i was teachine clay shooting at schools you are all craxy in 5 years unless you fight you wont be allowed to do anything give me 1930
So difficult to understand ,at times you speak at the speed of an Uzi . Really I want to hear the details but I can not do so , without reducing playback speed on lap top .

Rigby rifle on the Mauser action
Possibly not your bag and he may have sold it. However A.W. Rule and Son Gum Makers Ltd, of Somerton, Somerset. Has / had a 7 bore muzzle loading side by side, cap fired (if i remember correctly) Shotgun. I believe it was made for an Royal Navy Admiral (of the Lord Nelson era, but I dont remember which one). It is an enormous beast, bit the tiger patern of the Barrels is (IMHO) outstanding. I was visiting a friend in the area but we were unable to shoot that day, so we popped in for a look arround. He was amazingly accomadating, and friendly. Despite the fact i was obviously unable to afford any of the guns he displayed and allowed me to hold he went over the provernance of each one, (and there were many). Great video by the way!

I would nominate TGS for the Gundies. A category ( if it does exist) that specifies the appreciation for fine workmanship, art, shooting skills and a channel that deals with educating it's viewer would make TGS a sure winner for this award.
I like the comment about getting a Springfield for deer stalking. I do that sometimes. Took a deer with an M1 Garand last year because I had just bought it. Back to my normal rifle next year which happens to be a sporterized Springfield.

I agree with your parting comment, can't go wrong with a DT10. Recent sold my old one and the new user loves it. Glad to pass it on to someone that appreciates it and that it's getting used. It sat in my cabinet for a few years as I fell for a German (K80 parcours).

I have an AYA Yeoman which I bought (used) more than 30 years ago. Over those years, I have regularly used it for pigeon, rough, game and wildfowl shooting and it has never let me down. The barrels and chambers are still like new.
The Yeoman must be the bargain buy gun of the century!
Just goes to show that one does not have to spend a fortune on a gun to enjoy a lifetime of shooting.

Really enjoyed that thanks. I've been to the majority of Holts auction viewings since 2007 and this has filled a space! I'm sure I've seen that .577 Howdah pistol go though about 10 years ago. It had been well refinished.

That's got to be the nicest bum I've ever seen on the side of a rifle action. The lines of the buttstock were a bit outlandish, though.
The Vickers Ltd fowlng piece is quite nice. The 12 bore barrels with the "ghost rib" is certainly different.
it would be really nice to know the calibers and specification of the rifles and the shotguns with some price average around what they" might " fetch at the auction !
By the way the last to guns from Rottweil was made by Gamba, the guy who makes now the renato gamba daytona etc.

Who else wants to see a video where Johnny takes a variety of 4, 8, and 10 bores to the shooting grounds and REALLY puts them through their paces? I'm thinking simulated waterfowl (wildfowl) here. Crossing shots, multi-bird flushing shots, high incoming shots, even the ground-pounding multi bird shot.
Which big bore reigns supreme? After 20 rounds fired from each, Johnny will tell us! Who wants to see it?

@@tgsoutdoors You know you want it. Don't worry, the recoil is more of a push than a punch, or so they say. What could go wrong?
Big Bores only push when shot with Black Powder cartridges, not nitro cartridges which kick. I have shot 10's and 8's with both Black and nitro cartriges.
What's the lot number for the first bargain?

Were it not for the peculiarities of British gun laws, I'd spend a small fortune there and ship some very nice guns home.
