  • I used to make this with my friend when I was a kid. We usually used whatever we could find though. Shoe laces, jute string, or just about any kind of twine. In Florida we don't see many smooth stones in our rivers so we always used some type of hickory nuts, marbles, or we'd carve round wooden balls for ammo. To make the Shepherd's Sling or Rock Sling... I make cordage from rafia grass the length of my body or tip to finger tip. Then I made a rock sling from it. It's super simple unless you make it complicated. This technique is both primitive and ancient. Again, it's a super simple design. You may want to try soaking your rock sling in water and then stretching it to dry. It strengthens the fibers and helps them to adhere to each other much better. SO... go make you a sling and have fun in the woods. Don't shoot your eye out kid.

I don't make a lot of videos because TH-cam started taking them down, demonetized my account, and limiting access to my audience. If you'd like me to put them back up, please say so in the comments and I'll start putting them back up... but I doubt anyone actually reads any of this any way. lol
This video is for entertainment purposes only. Don't make dangerous tools and hurt people. Don't make dangerous tools and hurt your self. The best way to learn is to do. Get outside and get off freakin TH-cam.
I don't own the rights to this music. In fact, I have no idea where it came from.
