I completely agree about building your own community, instead of just "following trends". Follow the route most natural to yourself, if that makes sense. When I make my music (only some of it is posted on my channel), I go similarly to what you describe, as it pertains to life stories and such. Keep up the good work bud, genuine as genuine can be.
