- We had hoped to go diving but there was a big southerly smashing the south coast so we switched up the plan and instead shot out to the Ohau river for the night and cracked into some kai gathering. Netting for mullet and filling the bucket with pipi. Smoking fish and having a good time. Can't beat it!

@@cheekypukeko I know my wife loves fish more than she does shellfish so I told her I’ll get out on the kayak most I can fishing and mostly launching around Himatangi and Foxton Beach just being close enough for day trips

Cheers mate thanks for the message. They are beautiful eating the old mullet. A lot of people frown upon the mullet for some reason using it only for "bait".
