I finished up at work 2 weeks ago, and got a new puppy. We shoot up to Hokio beach to catch a feed of whitebait. Not much bait around but we got enough for a fritter lol

I went back to Tora and took my surfboard and my dive gears. I was a bit scared to go out surfing by myself and then a couple of cool surfers turned up. They let me tag along behind them and we surfed into the night. I showed them how to get Paua the next day. I've been practicing on the rental foam board for 3 weeks now. Today I got my first surfboard. Way harder to ride. Need to do more training. Hopefully I'll be riding down the line soon. We had hoped to go diving but there was a big southerly smashing the south coast so we switched up the plan and instead shot out to the Ohau river for the night and cracked into some kai gathering. Netting for mullet and filling the bucket with pipi. Smoking fish and having a good time. Can't beat it!

Me & Warena shoot across to Tora for the night. The plan was simple, to snatch up a few crayfish for new years. We had a lot of fun and cooked our kai on the fire. On this video I head to the beautiful southern coast of Wellington to a place called Red Rocks aka Pariwhero. The area is bountiful with an abundance of kaimoana. I fight off some butterfish, and slowly make my way towards the final boss, and in the end I triumphed. It was a good fight.

Kia ora bro, I usually use screens & markers on the bigger Ohau river, just south of this creek. The Hokio creek is a bit small for the screens and the locals have a bit of an unwritten law which everybody sticks too Cher. Winny

@@cheekypukeko my bros are keen, and we monitoring the surf forecast and hopefully vis some time close for a two day slay so we can get a camp dive on. Hopefully Tora the bros love it. I lost the contact to a farmer I knew at Glenburn as he would give us access key to flat point itself but he’s left his address we had for him and his mobile number is off too. I’ll send you a text message when we find a day suitable if you keen too my bro. But definitely the boys are accustomed well to Tora so that would definitely be the spot

Man that place has changed a lot since I was last there. In 6 months time(around Feb 2025) the Ohau River will go straight out to the sea from opposite your camp site(a place I call "the Hole"). Does this every 14yrs. Should be something special to see Win. I last saw it in Feb 2011, started with a wide trickle coming from all the rain coming down from the Tararua's combined with the huge tides caused by the moon being at it's nearest to to Earth...or so I believe. Chur Chur.
