In Canada we have Value village which i understand is savers. Our jeans and the baggie wall is the same. I wouldn't say ours is perfect. Its a bit messy and they put out lots of junk but you can still find treasures. We also have Talize which is great. Bit expensive but they have a 10% for seniors and frequent coupons and sales. Its very neat and colour coordinated.
We have Value Village here in Minnesota as well, and it is associated with ARC. I don't believe ours are associated with Savers, but I could be wrong. There are 2 Value Villages near me. One of them is decent & I can often find stuff for myself & to resell. The other location is very hit or miss - mostly miss for me.
@@WhatHeidiSees - Both comments are in support of resellers doing whatever they want with an item after it sells. I have sold items from Target and those items aren’t over inflated because a reseller may choose to resell it.
Also in Australia the prices in many thrift stores have increased a lot lately and people are not impressed. The result is the stores are FULL of overpriced products that don't sell. Go figure!!!!
I am also retired and reselling, I turn 65 tomorrow! You are filming in my stomping grounds, I have not been to that Unique in over a year because of the outrageous prices. I go to the Bins in Brooklyn Park where you filmed, I was even looking to see if I was there that day! I've been going to that Bins for almost 10 years, once or twice a week, used to be 99 cents a pound and I would get AMAZING items, Prada, Burberry, Tory Birch etc. within just a few minutes of stepping in the door. Now, not so much, it is actually disheartening the way the Thrift Stores have turned. Maybe I will see you in Brooklyn Park someday!
@@sherrirognstad2931 - Reselling in retirement has been great fun! I too wish the items were cheaper at the bins. But wow - compared to the thrift stores we sure are lucky we can shop that way for reselling! I agree with you. Thrift stores have really changed. And not for the good.
I'm from this area, and used to resell. I have nothing against resellers. Who is their buyer? I can tell you that, it's the same as everywhere else.... It's local people, it's the people that don't have a car, or don't have an Amazon account. It can be resellers, just people shopping for fun too. @@WhatHeidiSees - Totally agree! When items are donated to a business like a thrift store - their prices should be low enough that everyone can afford to shop there 💕
@@StefanyFuson - How about thrift stores go back to their original missions? Bucket pricing would be more efficient for staff. More inventory could turn over. And resellers and others could purchase the items and keep them out of the landfill. Maddening …… 😡
@ - it’s single pricing for all shirts, pants, coats, etc. A community thrift store I was just at does it that way. So do many of our church rummage sales.
Thr glassware 4.49 x 4 means all 4 pieces for 4.49. There were some listed 4.49 for 2. We have a Value Village near me and they sell items from dollar stores for more than dollar store prices.
Our Savers in Columbia Heights is so overpriced and has so much junk. They do have Senior discount Thursday, but I stopped visiting this place entirely. Have you been to Hidden Treasures in St. Anthony? It's a non-profit with ever-changing inventory and priced very well. They have a lot of books for you! Very friendly staff, and it is all for a good cause. I only donate to them now.
I haven't been to Hidden Treasures! But I'm thinking of starting a series of visiting community thrifts and taking viewers along. Thanks so much for the recommendation.
I rarely shop at savers anymore due to pricing and bad inventory here in Cleveland Ohio. Hit or miss at goodwill retail and so so bins outlet. A lot of trash compared to even 5 years ago.
Daughter and I are here in MN to visit my son. We have spent the week touring thriftstores and of course the bins. Our thrift stores are home are out to lunch on pricing too. Salvation army thrift pricing yesterday😮 for black Friday was ok.. Unique was high as well as several of the Goodwills...we did find some treasures to take home and did get my college kid some more clothes at the bins.
I don't know if they ever finished building their house here in Idaho. Last I heard the neighbors were all moving out because they were fed up with the ongoing five years of construction on the most expensive house in the county, in the most expensive county in the state. They seem to really be out of touch.
What are the thrift store prices like in your area? I'm thinking its like this at most stores across the country.

Why do thrift stores care what their customers do with the items they buy??
