**Thousands actually. Most seahorses give birth to around 2,000 babies at once.. and only a few hundred of the strongest survive. It seems like there was an issue during the egg transfer here.. and the few babies that did transfer did not survive.. because these babies are clearly stillborn. Normally a seahorse male will have a very large belly similar to a pregnant woman, because they give birth to a few thousand at a time.. so idk what happened here..
The poor male, he's in distress look at his mouth. His contractions are not regular & he's exhausted. I hope some of the babies survive. The male usually dies after all he's been through to take care of the babies 😱.
