Now that that's out the way, yes, yes I would, for the same reason I'd play an FPS where you play a Nazi, a Taliban, an Islamic State Fighter and a US Marine. Because it's still a game, and games are fun, except when they're not. I can support assholes if I enjoy there product. I can support pedophiles if I enjoy their product. Don't try and brush it off as different, a pedophile and an asshole are different types of the same thing, Dicks. Not buying Fez is just like not supporting Roman Polanski. Because they're both people, and by extension both Dicks.
You hate them, but that doesn't mean you should hate what they do, that's crazy talk.
You support there work, so they can stay suitably not dead enough to continue. Granted Phil Fish isn't particularly polite, but:

I've just read loads of stuff on Phil Fish because I've put off knowing about him thus far.
But from what I found there's not a speck of evidence that he copied the code or bribed his way into the award.
What it looks like happened is someone on twitter called him pretentious and arrogant or some such, followed up by the prediction that no one would like his game, so he won an award and told them to suck his dick, while somewhat cocky (get it?), it seems like a perfectly valid response to someone on the internet if my time here taught me anything.

Did you read the Allistair Pinsof Interviews on techraptor? Here is a quote:
"I don’t mind naming this developer because most of the information is in fact public, just ignored by the media. So, this developer Shawn McGrath approached me when Indie Game: The Movie came out and featured credits that libeled his friend Jason Degroot. Both of these guys were extremely influential on Fez; there’s a good argument that it’s their game. McGrath created the central mechanic, design, and code which was lifted from an earlier project he made with Fish that was a music game. Fish admitted to this as far back as 2007, but he’d say “the whole game is made around the 3D pixel aesthetic” or “it’s all designed around my Miyazaki influence”. This was dishonest however because it was really designed around McGrath’s mechanic.
"The thing the public never knew - that McGrath and Degroot held for leverage should the filmmakers & Fish not change the credits - is that McGrath worked on Fez until the GDC trailer put out in October 2007, according to McGrath. At this point, McGrath had a second falling out and this time it was serious. McGrath told him they were done and Fish agreed to cancel the project. The agreement was that McGrath would take his original design (2D/3D rotating mechanic) and Fish would take his Trixel engine, according to McGrath. I think Fish is a talented visual designer and Fez carries his unique stamp on it, but the problem - and this is according to McGrath - remains that two of its biggest creators were snubbed out of its development, uncredited, unpaid, stolen from, and lied to. What makes this an industry wide problem is that the two were afraid to speak out because of Fish’s connections. Fish was friends with Boyer who ran the IGF, Fish was a social butterfly who knew a lot of gaming press (there were multiple videos of him casually hanging out with 1UP staff back on their video site in 2008) and had high level connections at Microsoft. Degroot & McGrath feared Fish would use his connections to ruin their career right as they were to debut their successful indie title Dyad."
Well sure there is no evidence, there lots of testimonies from people he worked with or where their at the awards, but hey same goes for Bill Cosby, and there are plenty of people openly hating him. I don't think your in any position to tell them what to do with their money.

Fez is worth it just for the disasterpeace soundtrack. I do find it hard to motivate myself to play it though. It's best if you're in the kind of mood where you just want some chill tunes and pretty visuals to relax to

The only thing that takes away from Fez is the developer.
If your not familiar with Phil Fish's Twitter Breakdown, look it up. He even canceled Fez 2 over the mess.
Okay the breakdown's a little dramatic, but you realize what he put up with to get Fez out, right? His partner in designing the game quit and tried to sue Fish for intellectual property rights, then, add on the public's demand that the now solo Fish release his game promptly, it's a miracle he didn't cancel Fez 1.

I don't buy the harsh criticisms towards the guy. I think its mostly bullying. In the human chimp species, when someone says, "its acceptable to pile on to this guy!" everyone uses it as an excuse to beat up on someone. I mean.... I played FEZ. It was a good/ok game, but had a uniqueness and love and artistry that made it exceptional. Then I kept hearing about Fish. Looked up some quotes for myself and... I dunno.... really? Who cares? So what if he has opinions on Steam and PC gamers? In fact, so what if he's kind of an ass? Many artists have been notoriously incompatible with society.... it just seems a moot point to get offended about the guy, especially when he was working hard to make great and unique games. Just enjoy the product, no need to interact with the creator beyond that. It actually weirds me out, all the hate.... it scares me. An ideal world should WANT to give artists the benefit of the doubt, it shouldn't wait for them to mention Japanese games or something arbitrary and then bully them to the point that they aren't motivated to create anymore. In a world where original games are the rarity, why even go that route?
I like how the gunfights in this game are super intense in spite that most of them are just staring at someone and never shooting. Really unique idea and I'd love to see other games try this.

He sist there claims he is dying and would like 1 last smoke....its so stupid. And one time you get the option of helping a bandit get better after you have to kill all his friends and don't feel so loving and forgiving. I left him there to die. Soviet Potato I like the idea behind I am Alive but the combat system....is shite. If they took the combat system from The Last of Us approximately released the same time as I am alive... it would have been so much better. All I am alive is, is a escort mission/ hide and seek game.....sorta sucks. I finished it...didn't find his wife and daughter only completed 60% of the missions.....cant be arsed to finish it....

Since the release of this video, the Inde Empire has experienced a double coup. First King Cave Story was murdered by the tyrannical Order of FNAF, who ruled mercilessly with over complicated plots and unnecessary sequels. But then when all hope seemed lost, the brave knight Sir Undertale arrived and dethroned the Order of FNAF, and now rules benevolently with exceptional storytelling and commentary on the morality of modern rpg gameplay. Long live the king!

Cave Story is a retro platformer about a child with a big head, focused on a strong narrative about exploring a vast world using subtext to tell a deeper story. Same as Fez, but clearly Yatzhee likes Cave Story more.

I am thankful that Phil Fish decided to cancel Fez 2 because considering the direction certain indie games are heading, a sequel to that game probably would've sucked.

What does that have to do with Fez or I Am Alive?
O-scopes are still used quite often by electronic engineers and anyone who works with fixing electronics.
Actually, the part where the violent survivors try to take your head off once you lower your gun in "I Am Alive," is very much realistic. They're trying to get the drop on you. Especially if you're trying to hold more than one of them at gunpoint. Focus on one enemy too long, and the other one will try to kill you to save both himself and his buddy from being killed by you. And while ammo is not as scarce as one would imagine for the handgun, it's not as though you're finding boxes upon boxes of ammo in every trash bin.
Well your close to being there, it was played on a 2 channel oscilloscope where it did play a kind of tennis using a heavy modified one and controllers on the probes to affect each player. There were some draw issues since it was on an analog one but it still did the job quite well.

Yeah that Morse code puzzle, the solution isn't Morse code. I think that puzzle exemplified the problem I had with fez. When I found the QR codes I figured that there were some ARG elements to this game, that's fine, but it's so random at times. The solutions to some of the puzzles aren't something you'd figure out, but something you'd randomly think of trying in the hope it works. And you'd better try it twice in case you input one thing wrong. Oh and also try it backwards because I'm pretty sure that's a thing for one of the input puzzles without any hint towards that.

I don't think everyone got the oscilloscope joke... It was referencing the first game in recorded history: tennis for two, which was made with an oscilloscope.
I dunno if Yahtzee ever reads these, but how about if, sometime, when he's loaded up on indie games during the Summer Sales, he'll go back to the indie game that started it all?
He acknowledges Cave Story as the king of Indie Game Land or wherever, and I'd honestly love for him to tear it apart. We all know it's good, but what does our favorite cynic feel about a game where you get your heart wrenched out when you find that a certain pixel-perfect jump can mean the difference between a bad ending with a hard boss, or a good ending with four bosses from HELL?

I becoming more and more convinced that Mass Effect 3 trailer at the beginning of all of these videos is a subliminal message. Because it giving me the urge to get it for xmas.
I loved I Am Alive, but I will admit overall I was disappointed. It had to do with Ubisoft dropping the title multiple times, it switching developers and being canceled, then brought back, then pushed back then canceled and then finished. I believe it could have been game of the year had it gotten the proper treatment from developers. I mean Hell watch the trailers for it they look very different from the end result. Plus it wasn't originally intended to ba an XBLA but a full release game. Ubisoft really dropped the ball and let me down on this one.

I still have yet to know about Yahtzee's opinion on Dark Souls and Journey.
***** Yeah Demon's and Dark Souls are games that you can't really play through thoroughly when you're on a tight schedule like Yahtzee. He actually has played Dark Souls and mentioned it on one of his opinion pieces for the Escapist. He mentioned that since online play is such a key part of those games and his connection is not the best, he felt that wouldn't be judging the game properly if he played offline.

I can't remember resources being too common being a issue. Pretty sure most levels felt like they where being generous if they gave you one bullet for every 10 enemies you come across.

There are actually a fair few games he likes and even some he loves, besides, he's a critic, it'd be weird if he didn't criticise games, there are games that he recommends but doesn't say it to your face.

I remember being promised a lot more out of I Am Alive. I was looking forward to it for quite a while. It sort of dropped off the radar and then came back up having lost a lot of weight and breaking almost every promise it made. The AI is bothersome as holding an empty gun will keep a loon at bay but only if you're pointing it right at them. I don't know why I have to machete all these people while they beg for their lives but when I try to leave them be they lunge at me with pipe wrenches.

I refuse to play Fez based on the little I have heard about the idiot that made it, I also cant watch Indie Game the Movie. There are too many pieces of shit in my life, I don't need another one to think about.
I felt the same until it was given for free on Playstation Plus, then i erased phil fish by shooting darts at a portrait of him, then decorating it with approximately 50 nerf darts covered in red paint. Then i played the game and it was decent.
The game is retro-esque platformer with no enemies. Soundtrack and art are both gorgeous imo. Full completion of the game is impossibly hard.
Samurai Films I played it too because of playstation plus. Am i the only one who thought it was boring as shit? I really started playing it open minded but i just can't be bothered.

Samurai Films Exactly, it has a cool concept but gameplay should be still priority in a videogame. It lacks any kind of element that makes a game fun.
I love I Am Alive and found its bleak ending more moving than anything The Last Of Us gave us.
At the same time you have to remember that this is youtube and the majority of us are either to lazy to actually do such a thing or don't own a device capable of scanning it. So these little comments can be sort of handy while at the same time amusing. Sure you may loose the shock factor but at least you know what you missed.
