'Meet The Artist' (No:41) | Hillary Waters Fayle | Contemporary Artist

Hillary’s detailed slow stitched embroideries, illustrate the connection between nature and the human hand. Her sustainable art - created from leaves she gathers locally - incorporates traditional embroidery stitches on the surface of the leaf. Some pieces combine elements of traditional insertion stitches with intricate hand cut design work. Each piece is carefully sewn by hand. Join Hillary and I, as we catch up and chat - via Zoom. Hillary is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Fibre Area in the Department of Craft/Materials Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University.
